I just can't get over how pretty some of these page compositions are

#speculation nation #fanny reads nno #nabari no ou #like all the art is good by this point. but the majority of the pages are just functional manga panels #but then every so often it transitions into the most artsy spreads. theyre really pretty #and it does a Lot for capturing emotions. kamatani really does so well at that.#waaaaaaa ive read this whole manga before of course but getting to experience it all over again after all these years...#it just feels so special. and it's So nice to read it in physical print...#doesnt allow for as good of posting screenshots lol but for the here and now.. getting to feel and handle the pages.... wahhhh #i love this manga. i Love this manga. im on volume 6 and im so scared for when i reach volume 10 fbskfhks #i have a feeling im going to cry. again.#that volume made me cry like a fucking baby when i was just 14 years old. for a solid half hour.#no other manga has made me cry like that before hfkshfkd #and i am doing it ALL OVER AGAIN! wahoo!!!!#gleefully walking right back into heartbreak bc it's so worth it. the story is so beautiful. the art!!! the composition!!!! i LOVE it #ive long upheld that this is one of my absolute favorite manga and im so glad to experience it all over again.

keeping up with awards season has truly turned me into such a vitriolic and bitter person i think the academy should explode and there should be no survivors

#been watching so many nominated movies recently #to try to understand why saltburn is losing #but its just making me love saltburn more and hate the award shows that dont recognize it #i think it’s label as a shock value movie really killed it when thats obviously not what it is #like its so fucking beautiful and thoughtfully filmed #frame composition was taken into account in every fucking shot #but no cinematography nom #and the score is so amazing with big orchestral pieces that swell in the perfect moments #i still wake up with felix amica in my head #but no score nom #and not even to mention all of the incredibly talented actors who put so much love and work into this movie #who absolutely deserve to be recognized but they arent.#because it’s a shock value film.#and all of oliver’s confusion and heartbreak is overshadowed by viral cummy bath water tiktoks #its just so unfair lol #i could go on but. whatever. fingers crossed for baftas i guess.

Finally read the TAZ Suffering Game graphic novel last night and I gotta say… I’m a bit disappointed by it. Warning for some salt so if you don’t want to read that, then don’t.

I knew they were gonna have to cut some stuff, but they removed like. Half of the suffering from the arc titled THE SUFFERING GAME. Side characters like Lord Artemis Sterling, Rowan, Antonia, and Cam. The brutality of the Trust or Forsake game. Taako’s beauty (and although unknown to him, his identical-ness to Lup.) Merle’s battle axe proficiency. Magnus’s memories of GOVERNOR KALEN. Suffering Game was one of the arcs I was looking forward to the most since the beginning of the graphic novel, and they flubbed it so hard. Not enough suffering.

Reunion Tour was better, and picking up the pace of events didn’t change a ton. They changed what they told the bureau about Magnus’s “death,” meaning we didn’t get to see any of the mourning that came from that, but they handled it well, changing Carey’s mourning into determination to go and find him.

But the voidfish scene. The “those are the arms that held my wife” scene. Mannequin-Magnus’s final stand alongside the voidfish. The “don’t let them forget me” scene. Johann’s death. The fact that they changed this is just… inexplicable to me.

The graphic novel definitely hit the highs and added some new stuff that was definitely nice, like the Umbra Staff jumping into Barry’s arms. But to have so much cut from these arcs, especially since the adaptation has been so faithful so far, is really disappointing. It makes me nervous for how they’re going to put The Stolen Century and Story and Song into one book and wondering what parts of it they’re going to have to cut.

THEY CUT MAGNUS FORGETTING GOVERNOR KALEN.#not just forgetting but CHOOSING to forget because otherwise the others would have to take the penalty #and they cut taakos beauty sacrifice so we’re not getting that in his reunion with kravitz!#and while battle axe proficiency might not be considered as important by some imo its one of the hardest hitting scenes in suffering game #giving some very good merle backstory (and then ripping it away) and also the fact that it’s kind of the moment -#- that it really sinks in that this is THE SUFFERING GAME. because it was kind of a cop-out at first.#- ‘yeah I’ll sacrifice this proficiency that I never use.’ and then griffin seamlessly turns it into an absolutely heartbreaking scene.#I know that so much is gonna end up getting cut from stolen century and I am dreading it #anyway rant over

AAAHH my god she's so incredibly talented from all #her research work as a silvermane guard and mechanic to rocking out in her own band and singing like a goddess. mad respect #to each one of her voice actors for that. especially Natalie because good heavens y'all her performance is literal perfection.#it fits serval so well and all the emotion you hear during her companion quest is phenomenal it makes me wanna cry. her #backstory with cocolia is heartbreaking yet she still manages to continue on and live her best life and im so happy and proud.#she's such a sweetheart to her siblings and chill and strong and straight up beautiful so yes OF COURSE i had to include #both light cones. she's my absolute favorite and i can do whatever i want on my birthday thank you very much! and that's #exactly why i started this whole edit series when i did so that the countdown would line up perfect with her landing on today.#also gave the other siblings a quote about their family so had to do the same with her. so i figured yeah why not both lcs? because #she deserves all the praise and definitely earned herself a spot in my heart for many years to come. i love her like crazy.

#aj chayapol #jj chayakorn #home school #home school the series #thai drama #manydramagifs #tdramaedit #mok averting his eyes the moment mek makes eye-contact with him is so heartbreaking #like it's too overwhelming to see his brother so distraught and emotional #and he simultaneously stops comforting mek because he also got more emotional seeing the absolute despair in his brother's eyes #but the way he doesn't take his eyes off mek *until* that moment they make eye-contact is just so bittersweet #like their parents kept this immense love in them locked up for their entire childhood? that is so messed up #and they probably always had such affection for each other #but it was snuffed out by their parents (specifically their father) who insisted on pitting them against each other #and to think that the moments they feel freer to express their love for each other now #are ones in which not having each other's presence and love would quite probably destroy them #also it probably wasn't a conscious choice but i absolutely love that because of mek's hairstyle we as viewers can't really see his eyes #it makes this moment between them so much more personal and private #it's like 'oh yeah the depth of their sadness is something that only they get to see and share and understand'#and gosh it's so beautiful

I have to wonder how many times Edward must have been lead on and/or emotionally manipulated to make him give up at the pier. He didn’t try to look for Stede in the woods. He didn’t seem fearful that Stede could have potentially been hurt. He just almost seemed to accept that he had been abandoned, again. That his perfect little dynamic with the perfect and bizarre little man had all been too good to be true, again.

He just sat out there all night, because he knew. He was waiting for that other shoe to drop just as it always did.

So, how many times must he have been robbed of happiness?
