I've said again and again that I have nothing against any ship or shipping group. People can ship Levi with whoever they want. But these people who harass me over it, then accuse me of "talking" about it all the time, but the only reason I talk about it is because they're the ones asking me about it.

The thing is, is I just want to talk about what's in the actual story. Levi has no love interest in the story, either directly acknowledged or even implied. Everything this person sited as evidence or "proof" of Levi being romantically interested in Erwin, I addressed to the best of my abilities. They didn't want to accept it, and then they accuse me of being a hypocrite, trying to claim that all of my analysis posts are based on the same, speculative, inconclusive and flimsy material they base their beliefs on. As if breaking down text, expression, sequential order of panels, and patterns in the text and past character behavior is the same as taking an off-handed comment from Isayama in an interview from ten years ago or whatever and using it as proof of some super secret hidden romantic interest between Levi and Erwin. You can literally look at every post of mine analyzing AoT and find evidence supporting, pretty damn concretely, my conclusions in the actual text. And I'm hardly alone in that. There's many, many great AoT fans who write brilliant analysis posts about the manga/anime, using only the source material. But these people can never point to a single panel or word bubble or piece of text that supports this notion that Levi was in love with Erwin, or anyone, for that matter. They need to site promotional material to try and back up their claims, and extrapolate meaning from the panels and texts which isn't, in any discernible, concrete way actually supported by the text and panels. They literally need to twist Levi's words and actions in the most absurd, nonsensical, illogical manner in order to make it fit. That isn't how Isayama operates as a writer. Even when there's subtext, there's a clear, undeniable line between it and the action on the page. That's what analysis is based on, after all. There has to be a viable, evident reason for drawing certain conclusions.

Levi holding the serum against his chest, or touching Erwin's hand when he took the serum from him, or him thinking of Erwin when wondering who he could revive, none of that is enough proof in and of itself to support a romantic interest between them. I tried explaining to this person what those things actually indicate within the story. The last two don't mean anything. It's just how the panels were drawn. But the first, if this person had paid any kind of attention to Levi's actual relationship with Erwin, and how Levi regarded Erwin, and the reasons he was so loyal to Erwin, would understand that he thought of Erwin in that moment because he regarded Erwin as the leader that humanity needed, and that humanity's future was dependent on Erwin's survival. It's the entire reason Levi tried to stop Erwin from going to Shinganshina in the first place. I come to all of those conclusions based on the actual text and what we know about the characters leading up to that point.

I explained all of this to this fool in my initial reply to them, and they accused me of "brushing them off", lol.

I'm currently on vacation and on our first day in the city my sister and I couldn't decide where we wanted to go for dinner. I got these and more asks regarding the post from last night so I wanted to elaborate and explain some things, and also make another point about the anniversary thing and clarify for anyone confused. After this I promise I'll shut up about this lol sorry

1) yeah please do NOT come after the VAs for any of this, not even the actual developer side either is at fault. This is largely an issue with the PR and marketing and higher up people. It's really awful that some people are harassing people who have no responsibility here. And thanks to the original asker's reply, I feel like I'm really bad at conveying my thoughts so I tend to overexplain lol, but thanks that means a lot.

2) I have seen people confused on this so if you didn't already, you should know that this isn't just about the anniversary so much as the anniversary was a final straw. While Honkai has similar rewards/exchange for irl money as genshin, mihoyo itself has some of the worst in comparison to other gachas from other developers. Games like Arknights, Granblue, Azur Lane, Dragalia Lost, hell even a cutesy casual gacha app like LoveNikki have much better real money to game currency ratios, huge anniversaries where they give out tons of free shit, and much more generous systems (such as Arknights giving free 10 pulls with a lot of events/new characters/etc). All despite being smaller, less profitable games. There's major glaring issues with the game that have gone unresolved for a long time despite people asking over and over to change it. It's a combination of the rewards, general stuff, and mihoyo's refusal to solve certain issues for a long time that has people upset.

In any industry, any company is going to be held to the standards set by the mainstream industry, which is what is happening here. It is natural to hold a company to it's competitors for comparison and expect them to match standards, especially when the company that is lacking is the richer one and could easily meet the standards if they were willing to.

This is especially true for people who put money into the game. Due to the nature of gachas/online games, companies that produce these games are usually very adamant on rewarding players because whales/P2Ws, people who buy welkin and similar stuff, etc keep the game alive. When they do not match the standard of the industry, those people will feel unappreciated and go elsewhere eventually, which means they will not be able to afford much progress, then even F2Ps won't have content, and the game will burn out.

3) I probably should have clarified this last post but, I know review-bombing does seem like a kinda shitty tactic at first and I get that, but the reason people are doing that now is because mihoyo has completely ignored people complaining for months normally, and even now has started to censor and ban people, deleted critical posts, etc. Basically it's clear that mihoyo will just ban and censor criticism until people do something that actually forces them to listen, hence review bombing. Banning/censoring criticism is a really, really bad move for any company, historically speaking, it's insulting to players who keep the company afloat and results in losses. The review bombing + a lot of people uninstalled the app apparently + people who usually pay refusing to do so anymore, all of that hits them to where they can't afford to ignore it when people do it en masse. Because it will cost them money/players.

What people are kinda really upset about, even more than rewards itself, is just the silence and censorship on their end, which is more frustrating than the lack of rewards itself. I did have some sympathy for them up until they started censoring and deleting criticism on their site. At that point they're doing this to themselves by doing that.

4) Also, notably, this has worked with plenty of other game devs. You may remember the disaster that was Fallout 76. Bethesda also responded poorly at first, but spamming bad reviews and horrible coverage for Fallout 76 got Bethesda's attention, and they went the whole nine yards formally acknowledging the complaints and more or less apologizing to the whole world of players at E3 and even gave refunds, which is a very surprisingly humble thing for a company of their level of fame to do. The situation calmed down because people felt listened to, and while Fallout 76 was kinda a lost cause and didn't get fixed, the idea is that the refunds/open and honest communication restored the consumer base's relationship to Bethesda. That was a big blow, but Bethesda was willing to take that hit to maintain the sense of communication and mutual respect/value between players and devs.

In contrast, with mihoyo, what most people have been trying to beg/bargain for for an anniversary rewards is a free permanent banner 5 star, which would cost mihoyo essentially literally nothing.

So far they have responded by banning people for literal years on hoyolab, deleting posts, banning people from various social platforms etc, for criticism. Even putting whether or not that's ok aside, it's very unusual and not how game companies usually handle these things, and can only end badly for them.

Also mihoyo has had time to fix this -- it's not like Fallout 76 where they released the game and then the backlash came very suddenly and they had to scramble to prepare a response/plan and needed time. People have been complaining about these rewards for well over a week, so they could have easily fixed it by now if they had any intention of listening to people's complaints, especially considering the proposed fix of a single free permanent 5 star would be very simple and quick to implement.

5) also? it's extra unfortunate and really a marketing team issue bc they could have *profited* from giving more, if they opened rewards to new players as most gachas do. Genshin is incredibly popular right now, to the extent that a lot of people in the gaming/weeb sphere who don't play it, but still know of it, and even know a bit about it.

If you were someone who had never played genshin but had been considering downloading it for a long time, but just kept putting it off or forgetting, and heard "hey join now and you get free Diluc/Keqing," that would have convinced a lot of people to go ahead and join, and they would inevitably get sucked into the game and bring mhy profit. So it's a little strange imo that they chose not to do that, it would have been beneficial to them.

6) also, be aware that the glider we're now getting was supposed to be paid originally. Releasing it free now is damage control. It's also, well, a glider. Again, while it is pretty, it's paltry in comparison to the industry norm and does not have much use to most people.

Finally, criticizing all of this/the game/mihoyo does not mean people hate the game. I do see some people lashing out in defense of mihoyo and I get that bc they produce something we all really like. I really really do not want to see genshin become "that one game that was super popular for a year or so and then died" -- that's why people want improvements, because if improvements aren't made, that's where it's headed. What people are asking for right now is stuff that is very easily in mihoyo's capability and would not cost them much of anything. It would be one thing to ask them for something that would cut their profits or take time to develop, but that's not what's happening. People are asking for very little in the scope of their capabilities/the norm.

It especially makes me happy when you guys like ShiItaIzu because I still consider the ship my baby. I had never read or seen art for it only for ShiIta and ItaIzu separately so I was wary about combining them to make a polyam ship. But it was a mostly well received ship and I think it’s because I introduced them in Kingdom For Two which is a fic very dear and close to my heart and it’s not a comedy like TPoaM so you take them more seriously.

Heck, go google ShiItaIzu and I’m literally almost every single link that pops up in the search. Even ones that aren’t me, I still show up in. But I’m glad ShiItaIzu is becoming more of a thing now. I get excited when I see that someone has included them in their work.

With The Planning of a Matriarch....there was just a lot of things that made me fall out of love with it. One of them was the queerphobic hate I got from readers complaining about ShiItaIzu despite the fact that ShiItaIzu was ditched at the last moment in favor of ItaIzu and that’s something I’ll always regret and will probably integrate back into TPoaM when I get back to working on it for my Patreon, because that’s where I see myself updating it when I get back to doing it.

One of the other reasons why I don’t want to update it or continue it is because...I would get a lot of “pls update” comments and it really doesn’t have much to do with how annoying it can get to only get “pls update soon” or “your late” when I update but...because those comments kind of scare me.

I don’t know if anyone remembers but TPoaM was stolen and someone was posting it on wattpad. For almost all of my fics I worry that someone will try to upload it. The person claimed to want to share it on wattpad because I don’t have an account there and they wanted to spread the fic but the truth is that they were claiming that it was their own fic.

I am a sickly person and my only remaining hobby that I can enjoy is writing and sharing fics was tainted by the experience. Every single time I get a “pls update soon” comment especially from a guest reviewer I worry that it’s someone trying to get me to churn out more chapters just so they can steal them.

But I also know that TPoaM is my most loved fic and the one that started my life as a fic writer so I don’t want to delete it. People reread fics all of the time, I know I do and some people have told me they reread my fics, so I want to leave it up for those readers. Also...because I know people tend to try and “revive” fics and post them in their own accounts and “give credit to the author” despite the fact that writers delete fics from sites because they don’t want anyone to access them anymore.

So once again, thank you so much for this ask. It actually really brightened my morning. I woke up and had trouble moving to get ready for work so I was just messing around with my phone and saw this message and it made me really happy.

Boobs... my love/ hate relationship with my body.

At 30 I was just beginning to except who I am, I'm on antidepressants and have been for the past three years... as a result, my weight has fluctuated I've gained weight on my thighs, hips and midsection... my chest, however, that's stayed the same. I excepted it and in a weird way learnt to love my body... until I met someone who messed up my head and made me hate my figure.

I "used to" have a female friend with triple D boobs (a size I didn't know existed until I met her) She was very proud of her naturally big chest and rightly so but the problem with people who are blessed with what mother nature has given them is they seem to think they can shame people who have cosmetic surgery to enhance their looks. And that's not cool. Not cool at all. It's the same with men who gush over their favourite female celebrities and their "perfect" bodies. I've got something to tell you here that might upset you a little bit... those bodies are probably surgically enhanced! So don't you dare make a woman feel bad for wanting a boob job! It's frustrating and so god damn awful when your boyfriend or partner tells you he doesn't like big boobs and prefers your natural double A chest but then is watching videos of women with DDs. What you really mean to say is you like natural big boobs? Oh and a girl with a perfectly toned figure who never goes to the gym... I hate to break it to you but those "perfect" girls you love looking at.... their surgically enhanced and they probably work really hard at the gym and watch what their eating to stay looking that way... so sorry to burst your bubble right there...

Being a small busted girl has its plus points though, a few things I'll miss but hopefully they wont be an issue for me when I have my own (ten years in the making breast implant surgery in the new year) The biggest plus is probably that I really enjoy exercise and in particular getting on that bike in spin class and cycling my little heart out. I can lean forward to do push ups on the bike without any "pop outs" accuring (!) The thing I will probably miss most of all is the fact my boobs are my "ugly card." everyone has something which is deemed as "not very attractive" but is in reverse the greatest blessing to them cause it gets rid of shallow fuckers. I get alot of unwanted attention from men, I say this because I look alot younger than what I am and I'm slim, big blue eyes, full lips and high cheekbones. With makeup on I can look quite attractive but this often means that I can attract idiots, fuck boys, creeps and men who haven't read a book since high school and can't have a conversation with me. An guy on a dating site once said to me "I want a girl with blonde hair who wants children." I was moved to finally have met someone who wants a family like I do. I love kids so much. He ruined this by saying "she's got to have really big boobs too!" He kept going on about how I was his ideal woman and I shut him down by telling him I'm flat chested but I wish him all the very best looking for his "perfect" girl. Instead of the correct answer which would be "the size of your boobs doesn't matter to me, you're a nice person and I want to get to know you better." He responded with "A boob job will sort that out... then I'll marry you." Disgusting vile human being. I'll bet you any money, after I blocked him he was probably scratching his head as to why he offended me so much.

When I do get my implants done I'm getting them done for ME. NOT A MAN. ME. Without sounding big headed here: I've not had any trouble attracting a man. No one has ever been put off by my small chest. The type of man I want to attract won't care about the fact I'm tiny on top and got a big curvy backside to rival that of Jennifer Lopez or Beyonce. He'll love it. As for the girl who used to be my friend I mentioned at the beginning of this blog, the one with perfect natural triple D breasts who shames women for wanting to enhance their bodies. She's single, she acts clingy and needy with men and "needs ALOT of attention" I'm so sorry but no matter how hot your body is but no man will put up with that. I think like a guy and I know I'd rather have someone who was independent, ambitious and had their own life going on. Someone who is funny, quick witted and might not return my calls cause their busy doing something fun that doesn't involve me. That's ok.

Last but certainly not least is the fact that people have told me throughout my life that in order to get bigger breasts I must "eat more calories" DO NOT listen to anyone who tells you this shit! It's irresponsible. Firstly not every woman is built the same, weight goes on different places on different bodies. I tried last year eating ice buns from a local bakery, pancakes coated in maple syrup and tea cakes... this was just my breakfast! Every meal had a pudding and everything was covered in salt, sugar and sweeteners. I did this for three months last summer until I realised I had no energy, my depression got a thousand times worse and I gained inches in all the places I didn't want them to go. The people who told me over the years to "put on weight" where nothing but jealous women who didn't like the fact I was trying to improve myself. If you are wanting to gain weight please see your doctor, nutritionist or personal trainer. They will advise you on a sensible safe approach to your healthy weight gain. DON'T eat ice buns for breakfast (like I did!) It won't make your breasts bigger, it will only make you gain weight round the middle.

honey, I'm south american.. the reason I only bring up the subject is because whites and mestizos in south america will get on their pedestals and clap their hands when the u.s. is being called out... which is literally all the time on this site, but will never make a peep about their own nations imperialistic ways. often times they will also try to escape their whiteness/white privilege through the ignorance that a lot of the anglo world has thinking latin americans are a homogenous race

so and coopt the opression that indigenous and black looking latin americans especially face. yeah, the other anon was right.. but you know why? because the u.s. has the resources to be this massive power.. trust me in the times some nations in south america had a similar degree of resources they did the same, during the brazilian empire the invasion of paraguay costed the population the majority of its male citizens, almost eradicating the guarani population that was left in the nation.

the rubber industry when the empire expanded into the amazon brought to the massacre of many indigenous people. and honestly, there are examples from the last 30 years all over latin america of literal genocide like targeted massacres of minority groups during wars and ethnic cleansing.. like via sterilization of indigenous and black people. my issue is that I only see people pointing blame at americans or the spaniards, french, or portuguese.. I never see any introspection at all..

ok.. so your argentine, if you want an example.. how about the fact that in the paraguayan war afro-argentines were purposely deployed.. because if black soldiers died as causalities, it would killing two birds with one stone? this literally (alongside an epidemic at the time, sure, but the war did more damage) lead to close to the entire afro-argentine population being eradicated as well.. so not only was the government partaking in imperialism but also ethnic cleansing of their own countrymen.

I’m gonna try to answer this the best way that i can, please tell me if i missed anything. And i’m talking with my personal thoughts, i’m not trying to represent latin americans…because i know that A LOT of what you said it’s true. 

I don’t feel like its “all the time”, because people talk shit about US because things that happen in US. Not so much about what US did to the world, and thats something that a lot of people don’t want to talk about or the country itself silenced people. I think that it’s ok to call out US and remind them about their history, but i don’t put myself (or my country) in a pedestal when i do it, if you ever feel like i did, i’m sorry and please, correct me. But you are right about everything else. 

Yes, i’ve seen latines trying to do that. That’s why i hate the thought that latines are “a race”. Some many people try to fight me in that topic, but they don’t realize that the argument of “we are one race” was already used in the history and present of Latinoamerica to not recognize the racism, colorism and the murder of black and native people here. Also, Latinomerica history and racial issues are more complicated than “white people are guilty for everything”. I call myself white even though my father isn’t white, but i personally don’t call europeans “colonizadores” or other people “white” because i have “white” blood too. And that white blood that you can recognize in my skin and features lets me be really privilaged in Latinoamerica. I’m a liar if i don’t recognize that.

Why people don’t talk about what happend/happens INSIDE of Latinoamerica?

I think that there’s different reasons. 

Yes, because of latines that don’t want to talk/accept/recognize that latines are also guilty of something and they don’t like being called out, knowing that what they consider they people also helped to destroy Latinoamerica. I can’t really speak for everyone, considering that i’m a “whitepassing” latina and i call myself white, but that’s a fact that no one can deny. But i don’t feel comfortable doing an “analysis” for every non-white latine because i’m not educated enough about it and it’s not my place.

I’ve noticed that a lot of latines don’t know about their own history. That’s why i always talk about how important it is to know the history of Latinoamerica and not only use the latine card in some situations. I’m not only speaking about a lot of latines in US that don’t even know the basic of the history of their country or in latinoamerica, but also latines IN latinoamerica. And for the latines in US, please try to look for good sources if you don’t speak spanish or portuguese. English sources tend to be…not so good. 

Everything that you mentioned, i knew about it (but there’s a lot of it that i don’t know, to be honest) I’m not saying that it’s common knowledge, because my country it’s pretty racist. But it wouldn’t be strange to hear a talk about this at least in my university. But still, every argentinian knows the name of “soldier Cabral”, but they don’t know that he was probably a black man, a slave. I thought about doing posts about it, but some things stopped me: here, is really weird that a post in spanish gets attention. the few sources of it (even documentaries) are in spanish, and i’m not fluid enough in english to translate them, i don’t want to misform people. I don’t trust english sources of the history of Latinoamerica, like i said. Can you talk to me in private about this? I think that you might be one of the people that i would trust helping me with this.

I’m sorry if i reacted like that, it’s just that i’m used to get a lot of ugly asks when i talk about US (and that’s why we need to keep talking about it) but you are right, we need to remember OUR history as well.
