Small Dec Wins

i cant believe its December already tf?!?!?!

1 - poli KIA today. saw a mother who cant feel the movement of their baby. the senior midwife tried to find the baby’s heart beat but not finding it. she said she hopes she were wrong. fell asleep at 3pm-ish, woke up super hungry. ate. i swear i feel like my weight when i measured it this morning was ~52, but after eating its close to 54 lol. eating banana and chocolate nextar is yummm. dalbang today is hella funny as always and suuper endearing. fell asleep after dalbang, didnt study hufttt

2 - today im at igd but joined azkia at vk for a bit to see partus. its not that im scared (maybe not consciously) but when the mom was being stitched i felt lightheaded, nausea, cold extremities, and i even had to squat multiple times because i couldnt stand. But i felt better after the partus so maybe seeing it was the cause. I did not feel scared at all honestly ._. and i’ve seen multiple partus before. i dont know why. i can literally feel my symphatetic tone giving out lmaoo. tried matcha latte with Cy matcha powder. it tasted more milky and grassy. mom thought it tasted like nori. i prever cocodeli alll the way (although Cy is cheaper). i think it also has a bit of caffeine that made me feel awake like a normal person should be.

3 - today is vk but there’s no patient so thank god i saw sumn yesterday. did some cicil ukmppd in the morning accompanied by matcha latte. tried to order dufan tickets and i couldnt find my damn ktp...... fell asleep after worrying about said ktp

4 - matcha latte in the car, swab at lmk, went to dufan by tj with willy, had quite some funn with atikah nila willy amel pupuy. first time trying kereta misteri, quite fun. it rained after ashar so we didnt ride anything after that. turns out my ktp was at barel’s fotocopy lmaoo thankyou ara for picking it. went to solaria ancol afterwards, picked up by mom. i didnt tell her in the morning that i was going to dufan lmao. plenary @ zoom 19 pm. rapat nemo. fell asleep.

5 - went to lmk by tj to surprise clara. went back home and fell asleep. didnt rly do anything afterwards because this ragged body gets tired easily and i dont eat much recently. i can feel the difference before and after eating and there’s actual energy after eating. its not that im hungry though, but i feel less energized. felt annoyed terrible and just wanna lay in bed (this is unrelated with the less food in my system). even though i met up with friends

6 - after LOTS of sleeping i feel somehow better but not to a ‘normal’ amount. watched kimbab family videos. did power vinyasa by doogether with fianti. took a shower and ate indomie and i felt quite normal, except i slept again wtf. i thought i would have the second half of the day but nah. did self tryouts with fianti, 150 FDI questions. I got 96/150 right. huft. such a great reality check

7 - poli lansia with dokter isip, matcha latte in the afternoon rly helps me not sleeping the day away, packed up for depok

8 - poli umum with dr gita (helped doing phys exam), packed the rest of my stuff, ate some risol and matcha lattteee in the car, took swab results, picked up hazmats etc, zoom discussion with FT PKM Kalideres (dr gita) on the way, and i finally arrived at tamel. dinner is granola with vsoy. Taste like a slightly wet granola bar, nutty fiber-y vibe

9 - walked in ui with ara, managed to jog from the trees near st ui until kuburan bikun wow. i reached that point where my leg and heart were going in a steady unburdened pace and my willpower to keep going on was tested. tried the signature steak in Double U Steak by Chef Widi, while ara tried ribeye. the ribeye was more tender than the signature. but the seasoning in the signature is quite delish, salty and oily without being too much (like futago ya). read poppyland fast pass from ara’s phone omg season 1 is finally complete! went to coftof (omgggg i miss this place), it looks different now. ordered matcha latte and it tasted weirdly like a soy milk although ara doesnt feel that way. the matcha tasted weird. wont repurchase. read chainsaw man, its so entertaining, funny and deep at the same time. denji mess around and be too naive sometimes but hes lowkey hot lmaooo. aki is lovvvvve.

10 - first day at rsud budhi asih. had moesli combined with granola + vsoy for brekkie. went back to tamel at 3 pm. it rained when i got back. bought warteg lugina worth 32k. walked to sbux for tumbler day its been a while since i had their matcha latte. it tasted quite good, but not as good as i remembered (?) maybe bcs i asked for non fat milk. sbux closes at 8 pm for now hikss

11 - left tamel at about 7:10 and arrived on budhi asih at 08:54 yalll the traffic. Icu. Bought eatlah double and ate the salted egg part. Nap. ICU discussion with dr Dedi @8pm. I presented from my phone to save data hehe,,

12 - woke up at 8, eatlah brown butter for brekkie, symcard, saladstop's caesar salad for lunch (quite 'eneg' because i didnt eat the cheese evenly so the chicken and cheese were eaten last after the vegs are out. The vegetable's not that variative, and the non vegs make the salad taste delicious (albeit maybe not THAT healthy). Evening jog @UI and i realized i can get wifi sitting near the lake n library. Stared at the night sky from my room, i swear the sky seems super clear. Saw tiny fireworks in the distance

13 - ate muesli and saladstop’s banana walnut cake, symcard, bought moon chicken and saladpoint. lunch was egg salad and the wings. the original tasted so good like??? maybe i havent had msg for a while. also tried big bang, not too spicy which is nice. cicil ukmppd. put my laundry at buih barel lmaoo. try out with fianti. got 70/100

14 - breakfast was salad and leftover chicken. today was bangsal with angga armand. the geriatric patient has a loud murmur yall (and scoliosis, so much that the heart looks distorted). went to margo city to see sales, but when i think about it id rather just thrift stuff lmao. bought lugina. slept through kuliah guru besar. writing this in yellow truck coffee, that had 2 customers on the 1st floor including me. tried banana milk. yall after trying to drink less sugar the beverage tasted super sweet. my headache just goes away. sugar is magic but unhealthy whyyyyy.

15 - igd siang with indah. This body sure is frail. Did cbd with dr afifah AND rescheduled pleno. Rip mobile data i have to use for hotspot.

16 - ok today. Inserted goedel and did bagging. I bagged the patient the wrong way at first (too much). Thankfully the nurses were kind and taught us a lot :) watched some bts content. I feel like after reading househusband my tiktok page is now immensely funnier. Dalbang is also hilarious as always. Put on ginseng sheet mask (smells quite strong)

17 - bangsal. snacked on fried chicken. matcha latte starbucks (turns out its quite full here) and liqo about keeping our tongues in check

18 - arrived at icu. And then opened line. Turns out hadin's swab is positive, so agung kak iman and me have to isolate and swab. So i went back. Ordered kanayam chicken and fish and tempe. Nasi liwet tasted goood damn. Sleptt in the afternoon. Pleno at 4 pm (entered the room 4:30). Had no motivation to do anything. Azkia is getting married! Spent 20 mins formulating words to congratulate her lmaoo

19 - osce simulation, kak nanu was so kind and encouraging. Did try out solid. Lunch is fish bite pasta with melted cheese (cause i had to reach the minimum amount for promo). It got cold so its not that good (pairing it with self made mentai sauce, mixing the mayo and chili, is way much better). Jogged in ui (and searched for wifi). Approached by someone selling haraus coffee (25k), saying that some earnings will be for charity. Its basically sweet. Can barely taste the coffee.

20 - had kanayam for lunch (brekkie is almost always muesli lately). The nasi liwet tasted much better the first time. Walked to yellow truck coffee in the pouring rain. Got banana milk. Saw webinar ksk (electrolyte correction and dr nadhira talkshow). What i got from it is that, dr nadhira is a different person from the first place. Shes visionary, knows what she want and not afraid to reach it. The mindset is different. Even if i try as hard as her, her propensity to growth is different. Cicil ukmppd. Try out with fianti (got 72/100). Talked for an hour about love and marriage and engagements (there are so much of it lately)

21 - leftover kanayam for brekkie, also ate roti salman in cikini st. swab today (met kris, nessa and others). muesli for lunch. i thought my body felt a bit warm, so i decided to find sumn to eat. tried kedai abu bakar’s spaghetti brulee. its okay. maybe because its not too cheesy or meaty, mainly bechamel sauce. the one pupuy made is much tastier. finished the whole 10x20 portion in 2 eating sesh. cicil ukmppd @ bed in the evening (somehow felt refreshed enough to be able to concentrate in bed)

22 - went early to icu to put dops form. lugina for early lunch. i feel like my metabolism is faster? or my body is not so much in calorie deficit mode anymore and it got greedier lmao i used to just ignore hunger but not now, for health. starbiiies tumbler day. ordered black tea latte with non fat milk and vanilla syrup (because raspberry syrup is no more). did cbd geri ppt.

23 - finally knew the swab result bcs kak iman asked kak farras. thankfully negative. igd with jordi. quite a few chances to do iv line, but i failed 2 times. managed to do iv injection to insert 2 drugs. saw the worst cpr ive ever seen in my life. its too slow, with maximal interruption. fish bite for lunch. wasted the rest of my day

24 - originally intended to run but i cant bring myself out of bed. packed up my stuff. picked up by mom. got the paper result of swab, got ksk from kelvyn @ capitol. can finally drink self-made matcha latte again, but it tasted horrible. i know cy matcha doesnt have that much going on, but even this is low even for them. previously i was starting to get used to the grassy smell.

25 - my lil bro remarked “maybe shes depressed because she doesnt have her chair”. fuck yall. this “depression” that im in is caused by this very place and the people. and im supposed to still muster the strength to study for ukmppd AND get my face together for solid book photoshoot. that shit is too much. this is why the money that goes to cafe, and the bike ride there is worth it for my sanity. after showering, things felt a bit better. had absolutely no will to study today. ate muesli with a bit of matcha latte.

26 - muesli for breakfast. matcha latte is lyfff ive probably said this before but it ~somehow~ makes me feel normal and not in a slump. like im a regular person. with normal moods. and not wanting to sleep all the time. i try to do ukmppd exercises but the pace is so fucking slow, bcs im distracted by get rich haha,,,. the latest potn update (64) is omgggg the mixed feelings? love? hate? anger? everything and nothing? the ~tension and passion~? im obsessed. watched a ton of bts content today and yesterday lmao.

27 - nasi kebuli for brekkie. went to flavola, im the first customer lmao. tried kopi susu coklat, tasted quite close enough to janjiw’s kopi soklat. had the same ~improved mood and concentration~ effect. tried to read ksk. bought milky banana 1L from puyo to give dajen (its his bday yesterday) (i feel prompted (?) to gift people when theyve given a present to me) (because my love lang is not gift giving at all so i barely think abt gifts lmao). talked with sum 33 ipa guys @ dajens house. yay appropriate amount of social battery charging. tryout with fianti, padi this time. got 67/100.

28 - ate muesli with matcha latte after breakfast. cicil ukmppd. Listened to yoongi's vlive until i fell asleep lol. 2 burger and salad for dinner. omggg hansol revealed his gf.

29 - spent half of my day tidying up the mess that is my room. figured out what to wear for solid book photoshoot with fianti, ara. matcha latte terosss. phd for dinner.

30 - breakfast is muesli with cimory choco hazelnut. mom made matcha chocolate brownies. tryna study. slow pace terosss. read some padi materials. dalbang.

31 - bought vsoy low sugar and multigrain. moved my body a bit to youtube videos. showered. felt better. it also rained (which i love). the pleasant mood only lasted til the evening. did nothing from 7pm even though im not sleepy. cant tell when did i start to sleep

and just like that, 2020 kkeut. its sad to say i dont rly remember much remarkable things this year. other than the trip and memories with minor rotation friends. i just remember wasting my life away in my house. i guess that’s the danger of living a monotone life. sometimes you gotta invest some time to have fun, to have motivation to live on and do things. not doing this makes it difficult to live day by day. and friends. meeting friends, seeing new stuff. that helps me live.

bts reaction - hearing their s/o sing for the first time

author’s note: this reaction is when bts hears their s/o sing for the first time and think they sound amazing, after they claim that they’re a bad singer. (also, ignore all my mistakes lol). also, i’m using an old laptop (because my mom took possession of the family computer) and so if my posts look weird (like on mobile things sometimes don’t show up as bolded or italicized), it’s not my fault. i’m annoyed by it...

kim seokjin

seokjin had just gotten home from practice. he was practically drowning in his sweat, and his limbs were heavy and pounding to the rhythm of his racing heart. he just wanted a hot bath to relieve the stress of his muscles. as he approached the bathroom, however, he heard something. your singing, music to his ears. you were actually really good. seokjin couldn’t help to press his ear to the door to hear you better as you sang epiphany with everything you had. you didn’t know he was home, so you were singing quite loudly, enjoying the echo of the bathroom. you were self-conscious of your singing, but sometimes you couldn’t help yourself. seokjin couldn’t fight the grin on his face, the light blush in his cheeks. you sounded amazing, and he could recall all the times he had tried to get you to sing a duet with him just for fun. he went into the bedroom, sitting on the foot of the bed right next to the door and waited for you, listening to your angelic voice.

minutes later, the water stopped. soon after you stepped out of the bathroom. you were just wrapped in a towel, as you hadn’t expected anyone to be home. you screamed when you saw seokjin sitting on the bed, a smug expression on his face. “seokjin! when did you get home?”

he hummed. “not long. but i was here long enough to enjoy the little concert you had in there though.”

your cheeks flushed. “you heard all that?”

he nodded. “and it was beautiful.”

min yoongi

yoongi had been in his home studio majority of the day. despite being on his two month break, he couldn’t get himself to sit still and do nothing. besides, they were already beginning to work on the new album. while he was there, you didn’t want to bother him. he seemed busy. although you wanted to spend time with him, you were the lovely significant other who respected the space of your lover. so instead you opted to clean the entire house. it had been many months since you had actually cleaned, like deep clean. you got into old clothes and got out all the supplies. you were going to dust, to clean, to mop, to vacuum as much as you could. while doing so, you had your headphones in, banging your head along to the songs.

an hour later, yoongi was hungry, and went to find you to ask if you wanted to go out for lunch. instead, he found you dancing while you mopped the kitchen floor. your back was to him, so you didn’t notice him. you were singing so far away, and yoongi’s ears had been blessed. he never believed you when you told him your voice was terrible, and now he was listening to your heavenly voice. he smiled widely.

when you finally turned around, you saw yoongi and immediately stopped, taking off the headphones. “yoongi!” your cheeks turned a dark red in embarrassment.

“don’t feel embarrassed. you sounded amazing.”

you couldn’t help but smile. “r-really?”

yoongi nodded. “but i’m hungry. let’s get something to eat and then you can continue. you should sing more often.”

jung hoseok

hoseok pried open his eyes, allowing the bright morning sun to help him wake up. he inhaled deeply. that was the best sleep he had ever had. he looked around, enjoying the silence. he was at your shared home. there were no members, no managers. he didn’t need an alarm to wake up to because he was on a two month break. he planned on seeing his family, but he also wanted to spend time with you. speaking of which, you weren’t next to him.

he got out of bed. he wanted to find you, see what you were up to. he walked out of the bedroom, hearing the familiar sound of a pan sizzling. you were making breakfast. he was about to call out to you, but your angelic voice caused him to stop in his tracks. you were singing your own rendition of daydream, one of your favorite songs of his. and it was beautiful.

hoseok began to gush, not being able to hold back. he burst into the kitchen. he scared you, causing you to drop the spatula in your hand. “jung hoseok!”

he laughed, wrapping his arms around you. “i’m sorry but your voice, it’s beautiful. i don’t understand why you claimed you were a bad singer.”

you blushed, “i’m just self-conscious.”

“well, i think you sound amazing. you should sing more often, just for me at least.” he replied, smiling. you smiled at him, feeling a bit proud of yourself.

kim namjoon

namjoon was sitting in the bedroom, reading a new book that he had bought at a bookstore. he was well halfway into the book. he was already planning on naming this one his favorite when he talked about it with you and the members.

namjoon soon grew hungry, however, and was forced to put his bookmark into the book and set it down on the bed next to him. he went to find you, perhaps you were already making something judging by the smell that was slowly making its way into the bedroom. he walked out of the bedroom, head towards the kitchen. but that’s when he heard something unusual. you were singing his song, trivia : love. no music was playing, it was just your voice. namjoon was surprised. he had never heard you sing before. you always claimed you were a bad singer. you were wrong.

when you finished, namjoon awkwardly walked into the kitchen. pretending nothing had happened, you smiled and said, “hungry?”

he nodded. “i heard you sing.”

your cheeks reddened. you didn’t say anything.

“you should sing more often. your voice, it’s really beautiful.”

you blushed, a smile forming on your face. “thank you.”

park jimin

you were in the shower when jimin got home. he had been out with the members. they had stopped at an arcade, got some dinner, walked around the city for a while, and jimin was the first to break apart from the group because he wanted to go home to spend the rest of the night with you. he was walking into the bathroom when he heard it...heard you.

you were in the bathroom, but you didn’t close the door all the way. jimin could hear you loud and clear as you sang serendipity, your favorite song because jimin sang it. the meaning behind it was also beautiful. you were singing it really well, the acoustics sounded amazing. jimin couldn’t help but listen. he had a thought, your voice would match his perfectly. imagine: the ultimate power couple releasing a duet together. the fans loved you.

when you finished, you were surprised to find jimin. you played it off. “didn’t expect you to be home yet.”

he shrugged. “i think we should sing together.”

“jimin, you knew i don’t have a good voice.”

he laughed. “that’s a total lie. i just witnessed an angel singing in the shower.”

you blushed. “you heard me?”

“yep, and i think we should release a duet.”

you were conflicted. you were self-conscious of your voice. and while jimin was your boyfriend, he also was an amazing vocalist, an amazing vocalist who was asking you to sing with him. “fine.”

kim taehyung

you were sitting at your desk, doing some (home)work stuff because of your school/job. you had music playing from your laptop. while you were working, spring day came on and you couldn’t help but sing along...loudly. taehyung was sitting in the living room watching a movie. but he was getting tired and wanted to go to bed. you were in the bedroom, as that was where the desk was. he shut off the tv and turned off all the lights, heading towards the bedroom afterward. but through the small crack in the door, he could hear music. only, it was your voice. you were singing along, and it sounded as if you had recorded the song with them. just as you sang, “you know it all, you’re my best friend,” harmonizing with taehyung, he swore he fell in love with you again. he couldn’t help but burst inside, nearly scaring you to death. you immediately stopped singing, feeling embarrassed. “oh my god! y/n, you sounded absolutely amazing. spring day is my favorite song, but you were singing along and it sounded beautiful. i don’t even compare.”

you rolled your eyes. “that’s a lie.”

taehyung looked at you, looked very serious. “i mean it. i want you to sing a song with me.”

you looked at him. “i mean, i was just doing it for fun. i don’t think i’m that good.”

“love, i think you sounded beautifully. give it a try. we can get suga and namjoon’s help, and then you can see if you want to release it or not. we can sing together, and if you don’t like it, it’ll stay unknown. but i think you’ll like it, and want to release it.”

you sighed. “fine.”

taehyung grinned widely. “tomorrow i’ll call namjoon.”

jeon jungkook

you were cleaning the kitchen after making dinner. you and jungkook had eaten, but jungkook insisted that he had to shower, so you were left cleaning the kitchen by himself. you were salty, but you didn’t say anything. it wasn’t a big deal. besides, he had just come back from a long-ass world tour. he needed lots of rest. while you were washing some dishes, jungkook’s song euphoria randomly popped into your head. it’s what you get for constantly thinking about him. so there you were, hand wrapped in a towel as you dried the inside of a glass, singing euphoria. you didn’t realize that soon you weren’t mumbling, or singing quietly. but you were singing as if you were on a stage. no you didn’t use a spatula or a spoon for a microphone, you still continued to clean.

jungkook was running a hand through his wet hair as he walked into the kitchen, just as you hit the high note. his eyes went wide when your voice didn’t falter at all. it was strong, and beautiful, bringing goosebumps to his arms. when you finished, you needed a glass of water, and that’s when you spotted jungkook, who was in awe. with red cheeks, you stuttered, “o-oh, jungkook.”

you drank your water, embarrassed. but jungkook was grinning. “your voice...it’s...it’s…”

“horrible.”

“amazing. i don’t understand why you call yourself a bad singer.”

you shrugged. jungkook continued, “i’m blown away. i think that sounded beautiful!”

you blushed. “thank you.”

The Work of Robert Altman

I would like to start out by saying that I am not a fan of the work of Robert Altman with the exception of maybe MASH and Popeye. This is absolutely a personal opinion and it does not mean he is a bad director. It very well might be due to me not understanding his work. Maybe it is because I don’t understand something about myself. Most likely it is a mixture of both. Altman was a very prolific director in the realm of both television and film and many people that I respect greatly as film makers and film critics sing his praises. So I figure that the man deserves a closer look and maybe I can find out why I don’t seem to be able to enjoy his movies in general. I might just have poor taste. I want to at least figure out what makes him stand out and that way I can respect him as an innovator of the film medium. I do not have the time to become an Altman expert, but I looked him up on IMDB, Wikipedia, Britannica, and AFI. Then I watched a BTS short about him from the Nashville DVD, read reviews by Roger Ebert about Nashville, MASH, and Gosford Park, and finally watched about a dozen interviews with him and about him on YouTube. I can’t say that I have become a fan, but I learned some things that have convinced me of why he deserves to be held in such high esteem:

He refused to compromise for money: Altman earned his money in TV and felt lucky to have an opportunity to direct with the more open format of film. He was not the type to waste a chance so he filled his movies with satire and political opinions that were very antigovernmental in nature. Often, his films were a scathing indictment of war, politics, and the entertainment industry. In the film Nashville, a van drives around announcing his views against government interference and American politics. I don’t necessarily agree with all of his views, but he held steady on many occasions when he refused to cut out some of his more controversial scenes for reasons of politics or simple run time guidelines. Practically speaking, I don’t like this because I feel that his movies run long. I can respect that he stuck to his vision and that is exactly how he wanted it.

He was an actor’s director: Not a lot of writers seemed to have much nice to say about him because he was known for keeping his scripts open (changing dialogue on the spot and allowing his actors to improvise). This often resulted in rather mundane speaking amongst the actors that Altman would then refuse to cut from the film. This was also a problem for producers since they couldn’t really be sure what they were getting when they were investing in an Altman film. Critics like Roger Ebert loved to see a director that had a vision but still allowed their actors to shine. Actors loved that they were allowed to contribute beyond just reading their lines and the ensemble movies that Altman favored really encouraged the actors to work together and grow. Ebert said that an Altman picture felt like a great bustling party where everybody felt welcome. As a huge introvert, this sounds terrible to me, but I can see how many people would find this to be fantastic and welcoming.

He uses a lot of natural sounds and overlaid dialogue: A lot of directors use dialogue almost like a game of turns: call out and response with lapel mics. One person will wait for their turn or at least the voice of a single person will stand out amongst a crowd. Altman would allow actors to talk over each other or put the microphone between actors in an outdoor setting so every actor would compete with nature sounds making it difficult to catch every word. This makes for a highly realistic situation because movie dialogue doesn’t happen in real life. It just doesn’t work out that everyone is on the same page and will wait to take their social turn in reality. However, I really like movie dialogue because it is very difficult for me to keep up with large conversations in the real world. Again, I respect Altman’s dedication to crafting his movies around reality to strengthen the satire, but I watch movies to escape so that is not what I am looking for.

He loved ensemble casts and used wide shots to include everyone: One thing that I love to see in a movie is intertwining story lines when they are done well. Altman loved to use a familiar cast of actors with as many as two dozen major speaking roles that all interacted together. The stories are an intricate spider web of different tales that blend through the film with wide shots that follow multiple conversations that move across scenes. Altman would make this work by having the camera highly mobile with a constant use of zoom in and out. This can make the movie difficult to follow and the viewer needs to pay close attention. I am OK with this, however the improvising means that a lot of this dialogue is not important and it is hard to know where you should be looking and what you should be paying attention to. I really like movies that tell a complete story. Altman films are very open and share small aspects of the character so they need to be rewatched many times to really have any understanding of what happened. It is here that I must admit that Robert Altman is much more creative and has much more movie intelligence than me. That is fine, but trying to keep up can be a chore for me so I am not always up to the task.

The man loved his music: Maybe the only thing that I completely appreciate in a Robert Altman film, he was incredibly picky about his music and he worked every song into the film like a layer in a cake. A mile-high, thousand-layered cake. I don’t necessarily like every song in his films, but I cannot think of a song in an Altman movie that was not completely appropriate and integrated. For the few times that a song was jarring and seem to stand out, it was meant to be jarring and stand out. In this I can comprehend the genius.

Looking at it now, Robert Altman creations are like the progressive rock or the Jackson Pollack paintings of movies. When you have time and you are in the right mood, they can blow your mind. But if you are not in the right head space, it is an anxiety trip set to a cacophony that lasts way too long and is far to complicated. Maybe it would be more enjoyable for somebody who was baked (like progressive rock or Pollack paintings). Alas, I do not smoke so I will never really know. That’s OK. I will just try and enjoy a Robert Altman experience the best that I can when I see one. I know that there is genius there and I can wonder at all the complicated layers, but I will stick to simpler things when given the choice.

My thoughts, opinions, and revelations following that one video with that one youtuber and that one journalist.

I promise to keep this positive and enlightening. Buckle up for a long read:

So, yesterday a video went live from a popular kpop youtube channel that featured a “controversial” kpop journalist from Billboard. They expressed many opinions and thoughts in regards to kpop and BTS that many ARMY’s felt degraded BTS’s success and hard work.

The comment I want to focus on today

“People are exhausted for getting so much exposure to BTS, I do feel like we need some fresh faces in the industry.”

“A lot of people are frustrated that there haven’t been any popular boy groups since BTS, its all been BTS.”

So first, before I get into my analysis of why these individuals might think this way, I want to put out a little disclaimer. First of all, I don’t think they are terrible people for saying what they said. I think that they were simply expressing their opinion and showing us their perspective. I understand where they are coming from but I COMPLETELY disagree with their statements (more on that in a bit). I actually think opposing opinions keep ARMY on their toes, motivated and goal-oriented. If everyone agreed with us, then our jobs would be done and we wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves. These kinds of comments have the power to mobilize our efforts, which we saw with the cypher party. So in some weird, backward way, I’m thankful for their commentary because it ultimately makes BTS more successful.

Now on to my revelation regarding the Kpop worldview and the changing of the industry.

Worldview, according to Merriam-Webster, is a comprehensive conception or apprehension of the world, especially from a specific standpoint. Often worldviews are established in early to middle childhood and expand with experiences as a person ages. Worldviews can also be established in later life regarding systems that are introduced into a person's life such as workplaces, the school system, or, in this case, the Kpop industry.

The journalist, during the pod-cast/live stream, shared her experience with kpop and how she got to where she is as a fan and a professional. She said that she got into kpop around 2008 and eventually took Korean language courses and studied abroad in Korea. She is fairly knowledgable considering her experiences. However, her worldview was established during a point in kpop history that enforced a set of certain beliefs. those being: Big3 domination, multi-fandom engagement, quick turnover rates, frequent “throne” turnovers, and general success from a large group of bands who were close to the top, but not occupying the top spot. These beliefs held for many years. from 2008 to 2015, they really didn’t see any change to that pre-existing system. Those “truths” became the essence of Kpop to many people. It's hard for those who hold that worldview to accept a change in paradigm.

It’s from this ideology that the “kpoppie” was born. They simply have been introduced to Kpop when these beliefs were being enforced by the system or they were introduced through a channel that followed these beliefs.

I avoided subscription to these beliefs by finding my own way to be a fan. I started listening to kpop in 2012 via SHINee and BigBang but quickly found fascination with debuting groups and rookie idols. I enjoyed a multi-fandom lifestyle but always held one or two groups close to my heart. I also love good underdog stories and developed a bitterness towards Big3 privilege, especially after experiencing the fan wars that went on between exo-l and babiez during 2012 and 2013. Then in 2013, I stumbled upon BTS, a group that I first dismissed because hey bore resemblance to BAP but later found captivating and enigmatic. From then, I truly felt a connection to BTS. They were so unlike everything else that had been introduced to me up to that point. From then, my kpop worldview evolved to include ideas and beliefs that contradicted the aforementioned subset. I’m thankful for BTS, for this reason, and many more.

Onto a detailed look at those ideals:

1) Big3: So, up until BTS won AROTY, every previous winner was from the Big3. MAMA, in 2016, probably assumed that BTS would reach their peak of success that year or maybe the year after and then slip just a bit to allow other artists to rise. However, after 2016, BTS doubled their success every year making it impossible to justify giving AROTY to anyone but them. That challenged everything everyone knew up to that point. That change frustrated and angered many people who believed that Kpop had to operate in a particular way.

Big3 ideology also created a culture in kpop that placed limits on smaller groups from smaller companies. Many of these groups faced outright discrimination from big3 fans for simply being from a smaller company. This is also why BTS’s success angered and confused so many people. They broke that stereotype as well.

2) multi-fandom engagement: Because the Big3 had such a chokehold on the industry, they encouraged “multi-fandom engagement” which ensured that they could rely upon relatively the same pool of fans to feed their entire catalog of groups and artists. It also maintained an audience for an always shifting pool of talent. If fans loved the system and industry, then groups could come and go but the money would still be flowing. As we know, groups often have short lifespans and their popularity fluctuates quite regularly. While this system is very fan-friendly, it can be brutal on up and coming acts, as well as acts that are aging. Their fanbases don’t necessarily develop a close attachment to one group which means that many groups have success based upon casual listeners.

This is where the whole “other groups deserve it too” mindset comes from. For them, if one group wins one year, then they will fight for their other fave to win the next year. It's not about longevity, it's about sharing the wealth, which ultimately cuts some careers short.

3) Quick turnover rates: Kpop operates on an extremely fast pace. That pace has only increased in recent years to combat the incredible amount of new talent flooding the industry. The quick turnover rate ensures constant engagement that keeps fans eyes trained on a particular company or group. However, this rushed system translates into rushed production and short blips of popularity. It's always “on to the next” for many fans.

BTS, however, created a concrete fandom that didn’t buy into this system. In fact, for many fans who are international and form the GP of countries like the US and UK, this fast-paced system with quick turnover rates doesn’t exist. They view longevity as a true marker of success and attempt to ensure that certain acts stay in the heart and minds of the people for a very long time. This is why the ARMY, particularly from other countries, has fought to place BTS among stars such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Drake because those acts will be making music and winning awards for years and years to come if they haven't already.

4) Throne turnover: This probably relates the most to what the youtuber and journalist were talking about (I invite you to refer back to the image under my first point for this). Essentially, since 2006 or so, there has been a different boy group dominating the scene every year or so. BigBang enjoyed success for many, many years and so did TVXQ before them and EXO intermittently after them. kpop fans expect the next “legend” or “king” to arrive every couple years or so. Its the way it has been since most of them can remember (And even BigBang, who remained at the top and won AROTY a few times, stepped away between comebacks and allowed other groups to find success). BTS challenges this idea because they have experienced what many kpop fans believe to be their max amount of time at the top. However, BTS show no signs of relinquishing their throne any time soon. Plus, their throne has effectively been relocated to an ambiguous spot that isn’t really located in the kpop industry anymore. There may very well be two thrones now, one cemented firmly in Korea and one that is located in El Dorado, or Atlantis, or Olympus which BTS only know the coordinates too. That elusiveness probably angers kpop fans the most.

This is why many ARMY and others believe BTS is beyond Kpop. It's not so much a drag to those who reside within the kpop realm so much as it is a way to describe BTS’s success because it has transcended what typical kpop is. There really isn’t a space or system that can contain or encapsulate BTS’s success because it challenges the existing paradigm and exists in some quasi-system that BTS are establishing on their own. BTS have to build their own infrastructure to support their success because neither global or local industries have experienced this type of crossover before.

Conclusion:

Those individuals who shared their opinions are experiencing a shift in their worldview that makes them question what they believed to be the unchanging truth. They are uncomfortable with the changes they see and are attempting to make sense of a world that appears unlike what they have seen before. It will take time for them to realize that the world is simply a different place now. Their thirst for “fresh faces” comes from their desire to resist change and find comfort in the predictable ecosystem they had come to believe was “kpop.”

This is actually really hard… I mean I’ve thought about what teamswould be like what kpop groups but I’ve never compared them directly to idolsbefore? Also, I wasn’t sure if you were asking based on what they’d be like asan idol personality or what their singing/rapping style would be like, so I’mgoing to do a double fancast. The first is who I think they are like based onpersonality, and the second is who they would sound most like to get the rightsound of the group…. This gets pretty long so I’ll put it under a cut, but there is a TL;DR at the bottom for those who are interested but don’t want to filter through all my bullsh*t…

SawamuraDaichi (DJ)

Personality: S.Coups(SVT)- The total Dad™ of the group- Seems really mature and serious- Actually a total dork and a big softie- Gets bullied by his 1000 children

Rap/Vocal Style: Bitto(UP10TION)- Deep and beautiful- asewhrftjtmv fjieaworgns- the voice that haunts my dreams- also really calm but you can feel the emotion??

SugawaraKoushi (Suga)

Personality: Taeyong(NCT) - could also very easily be SVT’s Jeonghan thanks to those mom vibes andhim being an actual angel but I tried to mix it up a bit - actual mom of the group- takes such good care of the other members and is considered their support andpillar - beautiful inside and out - clumsy and will accidentally hurt his children but never means to- also really talented dancer

Vocal Style: Ryeowook(Super Junior)- so so pure- please protect this voice- such a wonderfully calming voice- not to be underestimated because it can also be incredibly strong- everything about him is lovely, including his voice

OikawaTooru (Tune)

Personality: Wooshin(UP10TION)- nearly went for Ken (VIXX) but I triedto not have double Oikawa VIXX even though I love them, as I love Seijoh, so somuch- super charismatic- treats his fans absolutely perfectly - incredibly hard working - such a beautiful group visual- and gets teased mercilessly for it by the other members

Vocal Style: Leo(VIXX)- Gorgeous and soft- But also can be powerful af - always finds the perfect emotion through the music- enunciates every word perfectly- Icry

IwaizumiHajime (Sooti)

Personality: D.O(EXO)- easily voted manliest in the group- likes things clean and organised and also likes cooking (totalhousewife) - has a tendency to death glare and look like he’s done with everyone’sshit (spoiler alert: he is)- but is actually a total sweetheart/kind of a dork- also master of singing/rapping in different languages

Rap/Vocal Style: Ravi(VIXX)- Raps with Power™ - Raps that change speed in the blink of an eye- Boy raps fast, boy raps slow but always p o w e r f u l - Feel this Energy - No relation to the fact that Oikawa isequated to Leo at all…

KurooTetsuro (Kurokat)

Personality: Jin(BTS)- adorable man child- makes terrible dad jokes constantly- massive nerd- still always looking out for the younger members- also need to mention that they bothhave a super dumb laugh

Rap/Vocal Style: Mino(Winner)- ok so, in the kpop au, Kuroois a vocalist who can rap, whereas Minois a rapper who can sing- but my point still stands- beautiful deep voice (both in singing and rap)- super chill and sexy - this voice saved my life

BokutoKoutaro (El-Bo)

Personality: Chen(EXO)- always honest with his emotions- LOUD BOY! (screams a lot)- always treats his fans incredibly sweetly- may come across like he makes a big fuss of nothing but is also known to takereally good care of the other members of the group, especially the maknaes- super sweet boy all round

Rap/Vocal Style: GDragon (BIGBANG)- higher voice than you expect- can sing and rap beautifully - can achieve so many different styles and emotions - 10/10 for talent

AkaashiKeiji (Kashi)

Personality: Suga(BTS)- deadly honesty (read: utterly savage)- 100% done = constant mood- but also really cares for the group and the music - and can be a literal ball of sunshine when he smiles just for the purpose ofcoming in and wrecking your bias - always ends up going along with all the group’s crazy antics in the end

Vocal Style: Onew (SHINee)- deep and beautiful- incredibly powerful- vocal range for days- always hits theperfect note

HanamakiTakahiro (Makki)

Personality: Jun(SVT)- actually a living breathing meme- please protect this child- also a total troll though - lowkey extra, highkey crazy boy - best troublesome child there is

Vocal Style: Ken(VIXX)- wtf happened to trying to mix it up abit…- riff king- like seriously - may not always get to sing the main part of the song, but that’s only becausethis boy is too busy majorly riffing behind the main vocals- also gorgeous voice all round. 10/10

MatsukawaIssei (Issei)

Personality: Lay(EXO)- says completely weird things with a deadpan expression- comes across as very innocent (but isn’t always)- adorably weird (don’t tell me you couldn’t see Mattsunwearing a christmas tree onsie and singing jingle bells) - also language issues and childactor thing are just like how I headcanon Mattsunin the kpop au so….

Rap/Vocal Style: Hongbin(VIXX)-could’ve also put Lay for this tbh but I’ve gotta keep this Seijoh/VIXX streakgoing now- both a singer and a rapper- soft rap style- lots of rap-singing - can change his voice to fit tone of song perfectly

AsahiAzumane (Asahi)

Personality: Zuho (SF9)- looks intimidating at first until you realise he’s a giant softy- a total sweetheart- like completely adorable- bless this giant scaredy cat

Vocal Style: D.O(EXO)- transitions from soft into powerful perfectly- can be beautifully quiet until it comes to hit that note™- has pure emotion behind it- pure, sweet and gorgeous just like him

YakuMorisuke (Yakkun)

Personality: Key(SHINee)- master of throwing shade- smile that lights up the room (when you get him to smile)- total sweetheart (and totally embarrassed by it) - but also 100% the nagging mom - and they both dance girl group danceslike an absolute queen

Vocal Style: Suho(EXO)- such a range on this boy- can sing just about any genre and have it fit- sometimes soft, sometimes intense, but always amazing- perfect lead vocals

KozumeKenma (Kenma)

Personality: Hongbin(VIXX)- actually allergic to the other group members- cannot handle all the cringy stuff he gets asked to do in the name of kpop- actually adorable without even trying- also lowkey savage when you aren’t expecting it

Rap/Vocal Style: Zico(Block B)- so calm but can actually spitfire- can rap super fast with minimal effort- can come across as calm but each rap has so much emotion- can also secretly sing

TanakaRyunosuke (Ryu)

Personality: Jackson(GOT7)- acts very extra- so so extra- but is so determined and hard working- looks out for other members of the group- also amazing dancer

Rap/Vocal Style: Also Jackson(GOT7)- we have consistency!- aggressive rap- but also somehow calming?- a lot of power- also has a really pretty singing voice

NishinoyaYu (Noya)

Personality: JHope (BTS)- actual guardian deity of the group- literal ball of energy- keeps the mood high and the craziness higher- always super supportive- 10/10 will be there when you need him to be

Rap/Vocal Style: AlsoJ-Hope (BTS)- love the double consistency of thekarasuno bros for life- high energy- rap style range from mellow and serious to crazy energy - so good at building the rap (starting chill and getting more and more energyas the rap goes on)- seriously this boy is so talented

HinataShoyo (Hina)

Personality: Baekhyun(EXO)- adorable sunshine child- most cheerful member of the group- incredibly social- loved by everyone - honestly just the cutest boy ever

Vocal Style: Okso Hina is really hard to find vocal comparison because I imagine his voice tobe so unique, but I’m going to put in Chen (EXO) because- he also has a super unique voice- soft voice (almost feminine at times - butI mean that as a good thing)- takes the high notes like a god- all round incredibly talented vocalist- also secretly really good at rapping

KageyamaTobio (Tobiyo)

Personality: Leo(VIXX)- the irony that his personalitycomparison is the same as his beloved senpai, Oikawa-san’s voice comparison isnot lost on me- resting ‘done’ face- cannot smile on cue - only when made to laugh- a lot of people think he is scary/disinterested but actually he’s a sweetcinnamon roll really- just very shy (and will get embarrassed easily if you compliment him)- also hits people a lot

Vocal Style: Youngjae(GOT7)- incredibly strong voice - absolute power behind those notes- sings from the very core of his being- just an all round amazing sound

TsukishimaKei (K)

Personality: Sehun(EXO)- evil maknae- doesn’t take shit from his senpais/hyungs- resting tsundere face - secretly cares a lot more than he lets on- is also lowkey shy and sweet when he isn’t being savage

Rap/Vocal Style: Taeyong(NCT)- super chill rapper- could pretty much do all his raps with a straight face - raps that give zero fucks- but also feel really powerful without him even trying - can rap all out but if he does you are dead

YamaguchiTadashi (Suta)

Personality: Mark(GOT7)- actual sunshine- doesn’t talk much in the group - lowkey fluent in english- has the most adorable laugh

Vocal Style: Jimin(BTS)- can hit those high note like damn- such a soothing voice - best voice to sing you to sleep, to be honest- pure and beautiful

HaibaLev (Revo)

Personality: V(BTS)- completely bizarre child- often has no idea what is happening- just a sweet ball of excitable energy- clumsy boy - also beautifully terrible english

Vocal Style: Haechan(NCT)- very unique voice- high pitch (but not as high as Hinata)- seriously he has no trouble hitting that gorgeous high- he is both gifted and a gift to humanity

“Congratulations Y/N! Your album has risen up the charts and is now number three worldwide on iTunes!” Manager unnie announced, embracing you.

Your jaw was still agape in shock, still unable to comprehend what had happened. After two failed chances of debut, your company - WannaWrite Entertainment - expanded their budget and finally, debuted you as a solo artist. CEO L and N might have mortgaged both their houses to fund your promotions but it didn’t seem to affect them. In fact, your CEOs seemed glad your debut was doing well.

It might as well have been a miracle.

You nearly made the final lineup for MAUVE when they debuted but was cut off after you suffered an ankle injury. Your unnies still showered you with their love and support, even telling their fanbase to go support your debut.

“The company has decided to give you two days off while we sort out your new schedule. Go enjoy yourself but don’t do anything stupid.” You rolled your eyes at your manager’s words but assured her you would be fine.

The first thing you did was to search for your MAUVE sisters in the building but found out that they were out of the country to promote in Taiwan. You weren’t super close to some of the new trainees in your company but they didn’t seem very welcoming either. Finally, you settled on calling Samuel and Somi, two of your very close dongsaengs. Surprisingly, both of them weren’t occupied in that moment despite their busy schedules.

“Ahh! Y/N, we must go out and celebrate!” Samuel insisted.

“Y/N! Is it okay if I invite Lee Daehwi? He’s also Samuel’s friend. He’s from Wanna One, he really likes your album,” Somi asked, sugar dripping from her voice and you could almost imagine the batting of her eyelids. Looks like she really wanted Daehwi along……

Wanna One? Isn’t that the boy group CEO L really likes? I should accept this offer.

Giggling, you agreed to meet up with them at a mall nearby all the entertainment companies. Somi was going to treat everyone to lunch.

It had been the longest time you had seen her and nearly cried when she started being all emotional and deep, talking about her debut and then yours. Samuel didn’t have any words and just kept embracing you while congratulating you. At first, Daehwi was rather shy, he hid behind his two friends a lot, blushing, but once all the introductions had been made, you clicked instantly. You two shared a bucket of popcorn at the movies and Daehwi even took multiple polaroids together. You found the younger boy very likeable.

“Y/N, now that you are an idol, would you want to date anyone?” Samuel suddenly asked before returning to sipping on his soda. Somi nodded eagerly, smirking. Daehwi just smiled, running a hand through his hair.

You hated to disappoint but shook your head and waved your hand dismissively. “Not really…but we have to see. You never know who comes along.”

…

Jisung narrowed his eyes at Daehwi when the younger boy entered the house looking more triumphant than ever. “Daewhi-ah, did you do something? What’s up?“

Daewhi shook his head but couldn’t keep the smile off his face. I mean, he spent nearly the entire afternoon out with another idol he really respected and looked up to no doubt that he was more senior in the industry. Not to mention the fact that Daniel hyung has a tremendous crush on her! Ever since her debut he hadn’t shut up about her! I think he even owns a signed copy of her first single, he may have bought it online. “Ohhh, nothing,” he sang, causing more suspicion to rise from his hyungs.

Jaewhan, who was sitting on the kitchen counter, shot him a weird look. “Did you…wait- just tell us what you did,” he pushed. Before Daehwi could reply, a loud yell sounded from upstairs. “Yah! What’s happening up there? Stop fighting!” Sungwoon shouted, revealing more of his ‘aunty’ side. He looked like he was about to jump from his seat on the sofa and start taking out slippers to hit someone. Jisung grabbed his dongsaeng’s arm, pressing a finger to his lips. “Let them come and explain."

Speak of the devil, Woojin and Guanlin came running down the staircase, phones in their hands and muttering some gibberish. They seemed terribly flustered and nearly tackled Daehwi on the ground.

Jaewhan walked over to examine the photo. It was a photo that Samuel had taken of you, Daehwi, himself and Somi out at lunch. Jaewhan swiped right to reveal the next post which happened to be the cute selca you had taken with Samuel.

At the mention of your name, Daniel perked up and nearly sprung out from where he had been lying down lazily. He was fully alert now. Jihoon passed him Woojin’s phone which was still on Samuel’s Instagram page. His eyes widened significantly. Firstly, he couldn’t help but notice how gorgeous you were, you were beaming brightly and glowing happily, that made him cheer up a lot more. After that, he frowned when he noticed how comfortable you were with Samuel, kissing his cheek while winking and whatnot. Then, he realised that Daehwi was the one who had rested his head on your shoulder. Daniel gritted his teeth, jaw locked.

"Oh my god, is Daniel hyung jealous?” Jinyoung teased, poking his hyung’s cheek. “Ahh! He is!"

Daehwi patted his shoulder. "Yah, it’s okay hyung. I can introduce you to her.”

Daniel shrugged nonchalantly but on the inside, his heart was going to beat out of his chest and he suppressed the urge to squeal like a fanboy.

Y/N knows of Wanna One! She knows about my existence!

“I wonder if we’ll bump into her at any showcase….since our comeback was pretty close to hers,“ Seongwoo muttered absent-mindedly. That got Daniel’s heart in a mess.

The headline were in red, bolded, as if they were a flag to catch Daniel’s attention. The boys were taking a break from practising for their comeback stage and the news had just been confirmed to the world. He clutched his phone to his chest, attempting to regulate his breathing.

Oh my god….what is she doing to me? Is this how my fans feel? Oh my god, I can’t handle this.

Using his hand Daniel began to fan his face, which was heating up rapidly. Before any of his friends could make an odd comment, he excused himself and ran to hide in his workroom. "Ah! Daniel-ah, what happened to you? Why are you getting so worked up over a someone?” He scolded himself in a whisper. He had never become so flustered in his entire life. Perhaps it was the fact that due to all his training, he knew relationships were and huge no-no. Maybe this was the only time where he had a chance, both of you were idols and bound to meet somewhere along the line.

‘In a recent interview with KBS, 18 year old rising idol Y/N may have let it slip which idols she found attractive. Other than mentioning her love for fans, she didn’t fail to make her adoration for fellow celebrities known. “I really love icons like Big Bang and SHINee, they are real inspirations to me.” She had said…’

Daniel sighed and skipped over that part, he scrolled down more.

'When asked if she was interested in dating, Y/N simply smiled but shook her head, saying that of course there were people she found attractive but wanted to focus on her career rather than dating. However, Y/N did blush at the mention of celebrity crushes, no one can escape the love bug. She listed popular and established boy groups such as BTS and EXO to be incredibly attractive but not to sleep on smaller groups such as Hotshot or KNK. Additionally, she mentioned her incredible amount of respect for them and would like to work together someday.’

Oh my god, just get on with it. Daniel groaned and searched more.

‘Y/N also talked about her other idol friends. She was seen out with Kim Samuel, Jeon Somi and Wanna One’s Lee Daehwi recently to celebrate the success of her album. Y/N was very grateful for all their constant support and thanks her sisters in MAUVE for paving a better way for her. She hinted at a close collaboration between her and Somi then added she would like to befriend all of Wanna One. 'I think they’re all very handsome too,’ she admitted while giggling. 'I love their visuals but they also have a lot of talent that isn’t to be wasted. It’s sad they won’t last very long, I’d like to see them succeed in their short time together as a group.'

Daniel felt something stab at his heart, it was the knife of realisation that he wouldn’t be in Wanna One a few years from now and vowed to make the best of everything. Another thing also speared his delicate heart, you knew about Wanna One, you seemed to like them too. He felt special.

“Yah! Daniel hyung! Are you in here?” Jihoon’s calls accompanied by knocks on the door shattered that feeling. He sighed but went back to practice, his motivation was to impress you on Saturday.

The shouts and cheers of the fans were already loud while you were in the car but once you stepped outside, the roars were nearly deafening. Your bodyguard and security paved the way to the entrance.

It was chaotic good.

Camera flashes went off and you pushed your sunglasses higher up the bridge of your nose, forcing a smile on your face even though you almost tripped over your own feet.

Phew. I think this crowd is only a fraction of what MAUVE unnies handle.

The second you stepped through the glass doors of the venue, you were scooped off by assistants to your dressing room. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry but this was no new scene for you. At least this time you had experience, you messed up so many times during your first showcase it was embarrassing. Your manager broke off from you but promised to meet you in your dressing room after she had settled some paperwork. There was no time for a proper reply other than a small nod. The assistant grabbed your arms and whizzed passed other groups of idols with their assistants, looking just as hurried. Along the way, you recognised other group’s name stickers pasted on different dressing rooms. It was fascinating to see the well established groups in the same area as you, honouring almost.

“Erm, hang on a second,” your assistant muttered shyly, tapping on her phone and whispering frantically into her earpiece. At that time, your phone buzzed.

Daewhi: hello noona !! by any chance are you at the venue now ? :) let’s meet

You: hi daewhi, yes but it’s crowded and everyone’s rushing now…maybe after the show or you can text me when your done with hair and makeup :)

Daehwi: Daniel hyung read that you find us attractive and want to befriend us ;)

You: pshh omg that’s gg to be held against me forever! But yes, it’ll be nice to make friends

Daehwi: Daniel likes you

Suddenly, you felt a tug on your arm and your assistant beckoning you to follow her. “Sorry! There was a mix up with the dressing rooms!"

You slow jogged after your assistant, she rounded the corner faster than you did by abit. Many footsteps and loud chatter seemed to be coming your way so you sped up a little, hoping to catch up with her faster before the crowd came. Unfortunately, you sprung off a second too late and met with something… rather someone’s chest [ cliche! cliche! ]

Daniel could die happy. There was nothing else he could ever want. His ( life long ) dream had been fulfilled. He couldn’t care less about the strange looks he received, he just wanted to get down on his knees and thank God for creating such a perfect timing, such a perfect first making. The sheepish smile on his face remained plastered there as the stylist began curling his hair. The incident replayed in his head over and over. You had bumped into his chest and at first he too was shocked but the instinct to protect a person was stronger so his strong arms wrapped around your torso and prevented you from falling. Daniel would never forgot the look on your face when you spotted him, he’d never forget the memory of your entire face blushing pink.

It was so adorable!

Once you had steadied yourself, he had run his hands over yours, repeatedly asking if you were okay. Your reply was barely above a whisper but he still caught it. Daniel recalled the way his name had rolled of your tongue, causing his knees to turn into jelly, he felt his face turn hot even while he was sitting in his makeup chair.

Moving on…..

You had hastily thanked him, bowing slightly before greeting the remainder of the boys, their jaws dropping and some using their hands to suppress their giggles. You wished them good luck before running off after your assistant, wishing you had carried a mask with you to hide your red face. There were shouts and cheers echoing behind you which made you think back to Daehwi… well Jisung and Sungwoon’s confession on Daniel’s behalf.

But he’s Kang Daniel! Kang Daniel! Everyone loves him! He could have anyone as his significant other! Why me? How am I special?

You rid your head of the thoughts that only added more confusion and focussed on the task ahead of you.

Yes, showcase. Comeback stage. That’s all that matters right now.

By the time Wanna One was halfway through their stage, Daniel’s heart had turned into mush and his legs were replaced with jelly. He could see you dancing and singing to their song from his spot on the stage, he was glad you decided to watch some other artists while waiting for your turn. Daniel found your smile captivating, it made him grin and feel giddy like a schoolboy in love again. No matter what, he would definitely be watching your performance.

There was no lying that Kang Daniel, the man who had saved you just now, was attractive. You loved how he balanced out his sexy, manly side with his playful and more childish antics. Secretly, you had been observing the group from afar and admired how close they were. A part of you longed for that bond, especially if it was in a girl group but for now, you were happy as a soloist.

"Y/N! It’s almost your performance. Time to suit up,” Manager unnie hissed, grasping your arm and gently tugging you towards the backstage door. As soon as the equipment was placed on properly, stylists swarmed you, retouching your makeup and dusting your clothes.

“Okay, they’re changing the stage set up for the next act. After that, it’s you. Go prepare yourself.” Abiding by the basic rules, you double checked your sound system and downed half a bottle of water. Just as you were midway through your mental preparation, you felt a tap on your shoulder.

It was a cheerful looking Daehwi.

And Daniel.

“Noona! Did you see me? Was our stage good?”Daehwi bombarded you with questions. “Do you like our concept? Our style? Could you hear me singing?”

“Daehwi, you aren’t even giving her time to reply,” Daniel pointed out, chuckling. His gaze met your own but he quickly cast it on the floor.

“Hello, I’m Y/N. You must be Kang Daniel. I’m sorry about just now,” you apologised, giving your sweetest smile.

Daehwi stomped his foot, pouting. “Ahh, I get it. Noona likes older men, now she won’t pay attention to me,” he whined but had his lips curved into a telltale smirk.

Sly dongsaeng.

“That’s right Daehwi. Y/N likes people who can pull off the sexy concept,” you played along, purposely resting an arm on Daniel’s 60cm wide shoulders. His face was slowly but surely turning red.

“Hmph!”Daehwi marched off but turned around and shot you a sly wink.

“So…..” you started, uncertain of how to break it to him. “Daehwi said he’d introduce me to you. Hi."

Ew! That was so dumb! Whatever, keep your chill. You’re an idol.

Daniel just stared at you, shellshocked and entranced by you. Not just your beauty but the way you talked, the way you carried yourself that exuded a confident yet kind and not cocky aura. He was speechless, breath taken away. He was never like this, especially in front of women! You could hear his friends snickering in the back. "Hi, I’m Wanna One’s K-Kang Daniel. Uh, I-I really think you’ll be a great artist. Not that you already aren’t! But I think you will be iconic and I have been supporting you since your debut,” Daniel blurted out, he was so flustered his mind was blank and he couldn’t seem to form a coherent sentence.

How cute.

“Aww, that’s very sweet of you. I’d love to chat more but it’s almost my slot…so how about I give you my number. Text me when I come off stage."

He handed you his phone with trembling hands, Daniel couldn’t believe this was actually happening. He let out a shaky breath. "Can you sign my phone case?”

Daniel! That was so stupid! She probably thinks you’re a creep now!

You paused from punching in your number and giggled, agreeing to do so. He quickly passed you a pen and you signed his clear jelly case, adding a tiny heart at the end unlike your normal signature. Feeling bold, you saved your contact as 'Y/N 😘💍’ and passed the phone back to it’s owner. Daniel’s eyes grew large at your contact name but laughed it off. “Have fun on stage! We’ll be cheering for you!” He waved you off, beaming brightly.

You had never felt more energised and confident walking onto that stage and assuming your position. It was refreshing. Somi was waving a banner and Samuel was beside her, screaming. You knew Daewhi and… Daniel were watching, you could feel their gaze. The appreciation and love for your fellow idol friends grew. You adored them to pieces.

Maybe one of them in a more intimate way.

This is for @vixx17andbtsimagines because she mentioned it and now it's in my head. My hockey knowledge is limited so bare with me. Also I'm on Mobil so...sorry about formatting. Jin -So you'd think with his wide af shoulders he'd be a goalie but take a moment and appreciate -OfFeNsIvE -Uses his height and shoulders to check people and get the puck where he wants it to go -He has more assists than actual goals but he doesn't see it as being a worse player -Has pink regulation ice skates and at first people were like "oh for breast cancer awareness!" -"Oh yeah totally but also I like pink" -Signs things in pink sharpie and makes everyone MELT -Fan favorite of little daughters of hockey fans because of the skates and they send him tiaras in the mail. He wears them unironically J-Hope -Offensive line with Jin and Jungkook -He does the face offs and likes to make faces at the guy across from him and gets berated by Captain Namjoon -"But hyung it's not against the rules!" -Former figure skater but liked the teamwork of hockey more so he picked it up -But that makes him super fast and agile genes offensive line -Hates checking because he feels kinda bad about hurting someone -Shoots most of the goals and looks super cool doing it but then Jungkook'll just post like a video of him trying to be cool and skate backwards and he just crashes into the net -Gets called "Sunshine" by the other teams as an insult but it backfired because he LOVED IT Jungkook -3rd offensive player and the most aggressive off the three. -Like his job is to keep the way clear for Jin and Hobi and boy is he loving it -Ends up in the penalty box 2nd most only behind Tae by a little and regrets nothing -He's know for avoiding crashes by literally just jumping over things and everyone's just like "0_0" -A fan favorite because once a reporter tried to get him to flex live in an interview and he did it before promptly turning red -The clip is almost viral and nobody'll let him forget it -Used to be a goalie in high school but realized "HOLY shit going fast and hitting people this is way better" V -Defensive Man with Jimin -Takes his job very seriously but until the ref actually blows the whistle he's bouncing off the walls and probably trying to fit his glove in his mouth -Is that one player who gets super hype dying half time like jamming out to the music playing over speakers and enjoying himself -Ends up in the penalty box a lot but??? For super weird stuff??? -Like nobody knew you weren't allowed to do half the stuff he does but oops guess not -Loves loves loves talking to little hockey fans and always gives talks to small teams and hockey clubs -Once a kid approached him and said he was too small to play hockey and Tae ran across the building just to find Jimin to reassure the kid Rap Monster -Goalie Namjoon AKA Team Captain Namjoon AKA What Have I Gotten Myself Into Namjoon -Feels it's his fault if the team looses so he practices a lot more than is probably healthy sometimes -Designed the team logo as a joke but Yoongi took it seriously so when people ask he just says something dramatic and vague -"It's a representation of all of us" -Prefers to use his body to block shots because he feels it gives him more control than the stick -Is technically the worst skater technique wise like he doesn't find it easy or natural so being in the goal lets him focus on the game not on staying upright. -Once during a post game interview he forgot he had his helmet on still and casually put his SnapBack over the helmet without noticing -Interviewers love him because it's clear he takes his team and job very seriously and wants what's best for them all. Suga -Casual hockey player as a kid but never played because hello? He needed his hands to play piano. -But for real loves the sport just knows playing isn't what he wants to do so he got into managing and somehow ended up with these guys -In addition to keeping up with the team's schedule, press coverage, scores, health, Kerch sales, and many other manager duties, he insists on helping Namjoon and Hobi create game plans and tactics. -"I'm part of this team too assholes" -Basically he's tired ™ -But he sucks it up because it's what he loves to do -A media outlet once started publishing a lot of terrible false rumors about the team members and Yoongi stayed up for 48 hours fixing it and getting positive coverage to balance it out -The rest of the team found him knocked out on a pile of spare pads and sticks. Jimin -The other D man. -Literally his tactic is "Stand in front of them and hope for the best" -Doesn't really want to hurt anyone but there will be days where he's just MAD and everyone watches as he just knocks the other team down -Gets annoyed when people say he's too small for hockey -But gets super hype when he sees any tiny kids playing and having the time of their lives -The best at interviews besides Namjoon because he charms everyone -His jersey number gets bought mainly by small kids and mothers who saw him on TV and fell in love. -A mother once sent him a flower crown and he wore it over his helmet during warm ups -He and Tae move almost completely in sync and are gaining the reputation as the most iconic D Men pair in a while.

16 of the Best Apps for Landscape Photography

In this article, I’ll share my top 16 favorite apps that I use almost every time I have to plan a photography session, a photo trip, or a complex spot with a long hike in the mountain to get there.

What’s one thing almost every photographer has on their person every time they shoot? A smartphone. Smartphones can act as fully-featured photography assistants that are capable of helping you capture the best possible shots with your dedicated camera. This post isn’t an in-depth review or a guide for every single app. I just wanted to make a list of the apps that I use the most for all sorts of situations, from editing photos to performing in-depth location scouting and calculations in the field.

Note: I’m not getting paid by any of these companies to promote their apps. These are simply apps I find useful for my workflow.

Planning

1. Photo Pills

The most complete suite to plan your shooting sessions

PhotoPills is my favorite app ever. It’s an awesome and very robust app with tons of features, especially for landscape photographers. PhotoPills can help organize your planning, including saving and sharing your plans and managing locations.

You’ll get access to plenty of info about the sun and moon to be in the right place at the right time with just the right lighting. It also includes augmented reality for viewing the position and path of the sun, moon, and Milky Way.

PhotoPills can also help you to calculate exposures, depth of field, and compute the parameters need for time-lapse sequences. This app is a MUST for every landscape photographer, and that’s why it occupies the first place on my personal list of the Best Apps for Landscape Photography!

2. The Photographer’s Ephemeris 3D App

Brings Sun Tracking to a New Dimension

The Photographer’s Ephemeris is a very popular app that allows you to plan landscape photography shots by showing you the position of the sun and moon. The original app allowed you to see the direction of the sun or moon at any point in the day from a given location (more or less the same functionality as Photo Pills). The brand new 3D version is a game changer and it will let you see how the light itself falls onto the topographical landscape.

The Photographer’s Ephemeris 3D, allows users to watch a sunrise or sunset from the future. You can view land anywhere in the world in 3D and watch the light fall onto it as it will in real life. The new app also offers the ability to watch the stars in 3D movement. So, finding the Milky Way and keeping it in your sights will be a breeze. As will tracking sunset shots behind mountains. So in TPE3D you navigate to the area you are interested in by swiping, pinching, etc., and then place a ‘marker’. You can then double-click on the marker to get a view at ground level (and if you’re slightly wrong, you can “walk” your viewpoint around to get a better vantage point).

Along the bottom of the picture, there is a strip that shows the current time, the elevation of the sun and the moon and some markers to show sunrise, sunset, moonrise, etc. You can swipe this left to change the time and the sun will move around in the picture and show the landscape lit correctly including shadows. Absolutely one of the best apps for landscape photography I ever used.

The app is not perfect of course, the detail of the top and overlaid satellite imagery in Google Earth is light years better, but it is not intended to be used in this way. In my view, it is best used when you already have an idea of where you want to shoot, but you want to better visualize how the light will land on the landscape prior to your shoot, or find out exactly where the milky way will be in relation to the landscape. This app has become an indispensable tool in my planning kit, I highly recommend it!

Weather

3. Weather & Radar

Instant weather forecast and rain radar for your location

Weather & Radar is one of the most comprehensive free weather apps available. The app delivers current, hourly and 8-day forecasts from million locations around the world. You have an accurate radar, wind, temperature, alerts, pressure, humidity and rain: probability, quantity, duration. The weather for your location is instantly displayed with the weather forecast, rain radar or weather radar. Looking at the weather forecast for the next hours and days, you can instantly see if there will be rain or sunshine. Swipe to the left underneath the radar to see the weather outlook for the coming hours and days.

The weather radar shows you where the sun is shining at the moment, or where it is cloudy. you can also see where it is raining, snowing or hailing, and where there is currently thunder and lightning. The extensive details provided by the weather radar also include temperature information. Using the search function you can easily find every location and it will automatically be added to your favorites and called up directly. When you tap on the weather radar it will display in a fullscreen view.

4. Light Pollution Map

Locate dark sites where the sky will not be affected by light pollution

Light Pollution Map allows you to easily locate dark sites where the sky will not be affected by light pollution, allowing the best observance, star gazing, and photography of the night sky.

The map automatically locates you via GPS, and you can find locations with an easy search. Or just look around the map! It’s easy to save your favorite dark sites, just push and hold a spot on the map and click the save button. Is the light pollution map overlay too much? You can adjust the opacity to your liking! The map also features an easy to use legend, so you can be sure you are getting the darkest skies possible for star gazing or night time photography.

Also included is information on the Moon, such as the Moon’s phase, moonrise time, and moonset time! And guess what? That moon information is not only good for the current day but any day in the future!

Note: Free version is ad-supported, has lower resolution/accuracy, and does not allow you to save your favorite locations. Free version also has limited zoom levels. Upgrade to the pro version in-app for a very small fee to remove ads and unlock all pro features.

Mountain Identification

5. PeakFinder

The names of all mountains and peaks with a 360° panorama display

The Dolomites are my favorite place to shoot, and this app helps me to learn step-by-step a lot of the peaks’ names. Peak Finder gives you a 360° panoramic view identifying mountains nearby and further afield (up to 300km). The app works offline with GPS, so no mobile data required. You simply launch the app, point your phone towards your desired direction and Peak Finder will identify the mountains and hills in front of you.

I’ve been using Peak Finder for three years and I’m really impressed. The app fires up quickly and dependent on how fast GPS works on your phone, the app usually finds your location within a few seconds. With all apps that require GPS, occasionally you might have to calibrate your phone.

The rendering of the landscape drawing is sharp and it is easy to pick out mountain peaks and ridges.

Long Exposures and Camera Control

6. NiSi Filters ND Calculator

NiSi Filters App makes it easy to shoot long exposure photography

The NiSi Filters ND Calculator App is the most intuitive neutral density calculator I have used. This app is designed to calculate your image exposures. The idea is you can set the shutter speed you’re by a meter reading without any filter on the lens, the ND filter gradation that you are planning to use, and from there you can calculate what the shutter speed would be if you added the ND filter chosen. It’s a very straightforward and very intuitive process.

I could use the specific function within PhotoPills app (below on the right, the interface in PhotoPills), but I prefer the simplicity of the minimalistic controls in the NiSi app and help me to be a bit faster on the field.

7. Cascable 3

The ultimate smartphone camera remote control app

A Wi-Fi–enabled DSLR or mirrorless camera, paired with a smartphone or tablet, offers several advantages, such as wireless transfer of images, the ability to review shots on a screen larger than the LCD on the camera body, remote shutter control, and other features. All of that requires good software, and too often the manufacturer’s efforts are basic or unreliable.

In my case, Fujifilm has a terrible mobile app to control X-Series cameras, bad Wi-Fi connection performance, problems with synching images between camera and smartphone, and so on. Fujifilm, I love your cameras from the bottom of my heart, but what are you waiting to make the app up to expectations?

Cascable 3 (available only for iOS) is the better alternative that adds features many of the camera companies don’t. It’s available for free with a limited but solid set of capabilities. An in-app purchase adds Cascable Pro features.

Even better is the ability to adjust the image settings from the app itself. Tweak shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation using easy to use controls. Tap on the screen to set the camera’s focus point. You can display a live histogram to help you avoid over- or under-exposing areas and a focus peaking option highlights sharp areas in red to aid in getting your focus correct (especially helpful when shooting in the camera’s manual focus mode, although then you need to be near the camera to adjust the lens manually). Definitely one of the best apps for landscape photography.

Image Editing

8. VSCO

A responsive image-editing app with a range of useful tone-adjusting presets and photo sharing community

This is the “go-to app” I use to give a look to the BTS shots captured with my smartphone before I share them on social networks like Instagram or Facebook. The user interface of VSCO is very minimal, in spite of having a large number of tools, with a wide range of gorgeous filters inspired by film look. The main menu is easily accessible as you can swipe to the right, across the screen. In this menu, you have access to different features and areas within the app.

The Visual Supply Company is well-known for their sets of Adobe Lightroom presets — for Windows and Mac — that mimic specific kinds of film, like Kodak Portra 160, Fujifilm Xperia 400, and Ilford HP5. Most of the presets in VSCO for iOS have a similar film look, but, unlike the desktop packs, don’t reference specific films. They come in families with cryptic names like M or C — M, VSCO says, is a set of “moody” and “underexposed” filters numbering M1–M3, while C is both “vibrant” and “classic” in C1–C3, and “chromatic” in C4–C9.

C1-C9 and M1-M6 are my favorite series of presets. The first one has a Teal & Orange flavor, while the second one is more suitable for muted tones (like forests, foliage, mountain landscapes, etc…).

VSCO is a brilliant photo editing, sharing and camera app. You can create quality and subtle edits using this app. Even though VSCO camera doesn’t have different modes like the stock iPhone camera app, you still have access to manual features for better control. Also, you have a platform where you can discover and share photos. The community is brilliant and it is a great place to discover new talents and get inspired.

9. Adobe Lightroom CC

The editing solution for the cloud-based workflow

Lightroom CC is a brand new application that works across all platforms: desktop, web, and mobile. The new software offers nearly all of the same editing features we’re used to, but with an entirely new organizational structure reliant upon the cloud. There are so many photo and camera apps, and all work pretty much the same: Take an ordinary smartphone photo and jazz it up with colorful filters. You know the names (in this article I mentioned VSCO and Snapseed).

Lightroom CC takes the darkroom approach to photography. Instead of primarily adding colorful filters to dramatically alter the look of the image, you adjust the things photographers care most about: exposure, shadows, blacks, whites and color balance, as well as cropping, curve adjustments, split toning, HSL color panel.

Editing on the mobile app is free, but you won’t get Adobe Sensei, web galleries and selective editing. But you’ll still get a decent set of high-quality tools for making adjustments, and an app with a superb sense of focus, rather than throwing as many tools at the wall as possible to see what sticks. It comes with 1 terabyte of storage yearly as part of the subscription price.

10. Snapseed

The most powerful and intuitive “On the go photo editing app”

Load a photo into Snapseed and it first resembles any me-too one-click filter tool, with you prodding a thumbnail to update the look of your pic. And even if that’s all you download it for, it’s a good choice, because the presets are pretty great. As an editor, Snapseed excels. The range of tools is wide, covering the basics (tune, crop, rotate, heal and vignette), adding pro-level stuff (curves, DNG support, precision masking, perspective), and enabling you to be properly creative (double exposure, frames, text and grunge overlays).

Working with tools is wonderfully tactile, with you dragging up and down to select a property and then left or right to adjust an effect’s strength. Best of all, you can visit your edit stack and amend any of your previous steps at any point – everything you do in Snapseed is non-destructive. The big plus over Lightroom CC, it’s totally FREE!

What makes this app one of the best apps for landscape photography? GPSies lists countless routes for all sorts of Outdoor activities. Using various search parameters of the request, the tour can gradually narrow down. In the App, the selected path is displayed in color, and the Track appears in a different color. The great, free tour community GPSies has provided for each of the matching Track to bearing, he invested a little time in the search.

With GPSies you can view and download tracks which have been recorded by a GPS device. Whether you are searching for running courses or hiking tracks, with GPSies you can see what tracks others have recorded. And you can download all the tracks and put them onto your GPS device so you won’t lose your way.

It’s a very useful app when I have to scout some location in the Dolomites or difficult spots where a mid-long hiking is needed.

The continuous GPS usage, also in the background, can drastically reduce the battery life.

13. Google Maps

The free app-based GPS navigation with its robust location database and smooth interface

No matter if you’re planning your next photo road trip or you’re scouring the city streets looking for the perfect viewpoint, Google Maps is the most valuable tool to add to your arsenal for finding the perfect photography location.

While planning a trip from home, you have much more time to explore the area in a virtual capacity instead of being out there with boots on the ground. Nothing can compare with actually being there, but the tools available to you are getting better every day and the ability to nearly frame your shot is a real time saver. Time to turn the volume on your pre-visualization up to 11. It may seem obvious, but for me, Google Maps App is without any doubt one of the apps for landscape photography and I couldn’t live without it.

Another incredible tool integrated into Google Maps is My Maps that enables users to create custom maps for personal use or sharing. I can add points, lines, and shapes on top of Google Maps. Moreover, I can also have layers and customize the items in each layer with uniform styles and having labels for the name or description. There are many different objects you can have as your points, such as the town point, accommodation point, bus point, car park or a hut points. You can change the color of anything and change the thickness as well.

14. Google Earth

Fly over a virtual globe and view the Earth through high-resolution graphics and satellite images

Good old Google Earth. If you’ve spent any time near a computer in the last decade or so you’ve probably played with Google Earth, but did you also know you can also use it on your phone?

Google Earth is an incredibly useful tool for scouting out locations from afar. It allows you to easily see buildings, geological features, and other areas that might be of interest to you in planning a shoot. Google Earth uses a very simple interface that you’re probably already familiar with. There’s not much of a learning curve here. Just download the app, start getting the lay of the land, and get ready to shoot away.

I would typically use Photo Pills in conjunction with Google Earth to understand how the light and shadows would look on the mountains, but Google Earth’s representation leaves something to be desired as well. Anyway, it’s a fantastic tool that I love to use and which is a perfect choice that complements the TPE 3D app, and with Google Maps it’s one of the best apps for landscape photography.

File Syncing and Storage

15. Google Drive

The simplest and most elegant cloud storage and file-syncing services

Google Drive is my favorite app for images and documents storage and file-syncing. I use it intensively to store images master files, documents about planning and custom google maps, images sharing with photo magazines and web magazine, to backup my smartphone data, and so on. It gives you access to your files from nearly anywhere.

You can install Google Drive on virtually any computer or mobile device. Dozens of apps integrate easily with it, too, making it highly versatile. Google Drive is much more than just a cloud-based storage and syncing service. It also excels at letting you create, edit, store, and collaborate on documents. The service is truly impressive in just how far it goes to help you create and edit files, whether you’re working solo or as part of a team.

Compatibility is rarely an issue with Google Drive: You can upload files, convert them to Google’s file format to edit them online—or create new documents, spreadsheets, and slide presentations in the Web interface—and export the finished products to standard file formats, such as .doc, .rtf, .pdf, and so on. With the recently introduced Microsoft Office plugin for Google Drive, you can now use your Google Drive as storage for files you edit with the installed Microsoft Office apps, removing any chance of incompatibility. The first 15GBs are free!

Professional landscape photographers travel a lot and one of the most important thing when you are on the road, or before to running a photographic tour, is the gear inventory. Manage your gear in the proper manner is a crucial part of the photographer’s life. My Gear Vault is an app designed to let you catalog all of your photography equipment in one location. You add data, images and serial numbers for all your cameras, lenses and other items via the app so in the event of a theft or loss you have all the insurance-relevant information you need in one place.

With My Gear Vault, users can search through the app’s illustrated database of contemporary digital gear and assign those items to virtual “kits” along with the serial number of each item. The list of cameras, lenses, and accessories in the app is exhaustive, but you won’t find your precious analog Leica or medium format cameras there.
