Twitter Rollo drama is so fucking painful to read

especially with Rollo Flamm rolling up

Like why can’t you just accept that some people are not comfortable with a character that’s going to end up having parallels with a character like Frollo? 

They’re all just like who cares Yana toboso will shotafy anyone

I’m like bitch its not about him being a shota its about how wildly different a villain like Frollo is compared to every other disney villain in twst. 

The Queen of hearts isn’t even a villain she’s just an antagonist for the last end of the movie and in the book. She’s also very possible just the result of Alice’s over active imagination warping her history lessons 

Maleficent is just a fairy who got pissy about not being invited 

The evil queen was insecure ??? 

Scar is a prince who staged a coup and killed his brother that’s like half of history

Ursula (in disney) is similar to scar wanting to stage a coup and take over the ocean but with magic and contracts in the original Hans Christian Andersen she’s more like a plot device than an antagonist she helps the mermaids on their thing but never does it out of purposeful malice

Hades IS ANOTHER CHARACTer about killing your brother and taking over (in disney) in the mythology he just does his job and stops people from trying to take his wife (albeit he did kidnap her)

Jafar is the classical right hand man secretly rules over everything because the current leader is super exploitable and super dumb this also happens in history

You can’t fucking compare that to someone who emotionally abuses a disfigured person to be dependent on them, tries to force a girl from a minority to get with him or die. He’s an ableist, racist, classist, and sexist all things that are super present today affects so many people. Frollo is someone who exists back then and now so making a character that will have parallels to him in a game like Twisted Wonderland is very iffy to many people. 

And I don’t hate Rollo because I think that if they handle his character well they can turn this into a great example with a complex character.

I have mentioned before that its possible that Rollo is the way he is because he might have a super conservative and abusive household that will force him into the same person as Frollo and he might have a redemption where he realizes his world isn’t so small and he doesn’t have to be an ass

however considering how svanaclaw was written and the rep of Yana (looks hard at black butler) I’m not sure she can do that and its possible that Rollo will just end up being an antagonist for this event unless people like him so much that she’ll be compelled to insert him more ig. 

the point is its fine to like him and its fine to be weary of him. 

just be mindful that other people can be affected by this shit

(Wait until they find out there's only 4 Saturdays in November, and if they didn't include remembrance day, 3, and believe it or not! Content creators and streamers do infact have lives outside of making Content! It's not as easy as you may think to get 40 streamers/content creators to be available on the same exact day! It mostly just happened to be the 11th that was the most convenient day for all 40 people!

Besides, I highly fucking doubt I'd be seeing football or fans of sports be all pissy to have a game or some shit on remembrance day. It's not fucking disrespectful unless they say something disrespectful, or have disrespectful things related to the war, which I doubt it will, knowing its literally for the 4 year anniversary of mcc.

one of the things about where are your boys tonight i really appreciated and, to me, seemed like the most significant thrust of the book (but never garnered much attention, imo), was the focus on the business side of things and particularly the way the many bands never saw long term success or stability or the way a lot of very young people were taken advantage of even after making their labels and handlers metric butt-tones of money and this really culminated with the discussion about paramores record deal and the inherently coercive nature of making a 14 year old sign a record deal (not even really mentioning that record deal was 20 fucking years lmao) and yet i still see people argue she was an industry plant or whatever. sorry ig one of my fatal flaws is i give child stars the benefit of the doubt considering the fundamental exploitation necessary for that position to exist or whatever

I notice a lot of people don't like the CV show, especially because Konami is not doing anything in terms of CV games, even though it's been 6 years, and the show's content is vastly overshadowing the game series' content on every online medium, but also because the writing sucks a little bit.

I mostly enjoyed the show, and so I was thinking about it, and there's a good amount of some substantial reasons on why people enjoy the show, there's SO MANY substantial reasons to either dislike or not want to watch the show entirely. Like I thought about it from my most 'average person' perspective, there's so much dumbass writing in the show. The amount of pointless characters or really stupid incentive or motive is actually mind-boggling.

I'm not gonna say I dislike it because the show is definitely a lot more than its spotty writing. I personally love the art style and not only the animation, but the choreography of action scenes is the pinnacle of the show tbh. And even then, some characters are fantastic to watch. Especially Sypha, Isaac, and Dracula. Even Varney was kinda perfect, in my opinion.

But the negativity is ramping up, because we're getting a second entirely new animated series, that didn't really need to happen, but honestly I'm for it, just because I really like Powerhouse animation, and YET, the ONLY Castlevania things happening are stuff Konami can't even bother to advertise, which are just ports to modern consoles, or a selection of niche merchandise.

If they announce a new game during gamescon or Tokyo game show, then great!! There's nothing to worry about there. But it feels like Konami is just handing Castlevania from one foster parent to another, instead of actually caring about it or working on it. Especially with all of the negative gaming press around Konami for the shitty MGS switch ports, the fact that Bloober is working on the SH2 remake, the fact we've heard nothing about the other SH games they announced for almost an entire year. People do kind of have a right to be mad. This shit is really getting out of hand.

I can’t understand how people will jump to attack people who talk about how they don’t like the idea of Frollo being adapted into Rollo. 

Like I’m Aroace I do not understand or experience romance or sexual attraction. I do experience Aesthetic attraction like to unprecedented levels but that will not erode my brain from understanding that just because someone is pretty that means I must exonerate them from all potential sins and get butt hurt every time someone says oh I don’t like them.
