Someone confiscate the Kabumisu Rapunzel AU from me, I am not starting a long form anything until my DPxDC novel is done but also I am ONLY capable of doing it wrong
Because:
Kabru MUST be Rapunzel. Mandatory. Milsiril is not letting that little bitch out of her tower. (Also his Main Character Energy)
Mithrun has less than zero drive to do anything ever up to and including wandering around in lonely tower infested woods to find said lost princess
These can only be resolved by Mithrun also already being inside the tower and then we’re into Beauty and The Beast territory too with the Forbidden Room but instead of Cursed Flower there is Cursed Hottie
Tbh Labrumisu would solve this problem where’s my threesome shippers we need ONE (1) character with some goddamn initiative
(Sadly still can’t be me I do not ship Laios in general he’s just not got that Ship Juice)
Milsiril just has such perfect villain vibes and okay I’m selling myself on the Labrumisu because if Laios comes in to kidnap one of her babies (and her broken former coworker) there’s a 50-50 on whether Milsiril just decides he’s young enough to adopt

apparently the reason may december is being snubbed during awards season is because a lot of actors REALLY didn’t like what it had to say about actors who take on the roles of real people, and the idea that a bunch of former theatre kids might be sensitive about criticism of the industry they work in is, to me, just so shocking
#hey guess what every industry has problems but the answer is not to ignore and snub people who comment on them#also#it almost seems wilful because for me the main takeaway was uhhh abusing kids is bad??#a white woman was able to continue abusing a boy/man of colour by infantilising herself to him and the entire world#like the natalie portman as an actress thing seemed more the catalyst of other things in the film than the main point#the whole media circus and the desire of the public to know every detail is kind of secondary to watching this young man#—who in so many ways still behaves and thinks of himself like a child—come to terms with the fact he’s been lied to and failed#just utterly failed by everyone who supposedly is there to protect him#idk i really liked it and charles melton deserves an oscar for that performance#reggie from riverdale held his own against julianne moore and natalie portman like holy shit#something something charles melton’s character never had his own voice as a child and now as a grown man still doesn’t#he is spoken over by his wife/abuser and by the media who document/frame/characterise his history and now by natalie portman’s film#may december#aj abstractions

fiance got me a kindle for my birthday <3
#val comes out of hiding#with a case and a grip strap (that interferes a little with the case but i'm making it work lol)#it'll be great for my arthritic sad poor hands lmao#and i can download ebooks to it! including fic <3#so like i have backup copies of my bookmarks and i threw them all on there#and threw one I planned to read on there too which i rb'd a few mins ago#it's great because we tend to be into those huge fantasy novels that I 0% can hold and take up a shit ton of space#like bringing brando sando books with me while traveling has been a PAIN lmao#now all i need is a battery pack to make sure it doesn't die. which is its own downside of course#and it means I can pirate so many ebooks. my god so many.#anyway to start with i think i'm gonna go back thru and re-read all my bookmarked fics i haven't read in a while#i'm quite stingy about bookmarks so they're all good (tho i have a soft spot for fluff in hindsight lol)#maybe i'll make a detailed rec post when i'm done?#in regards to fic too though I need to reach out to someone and say sorry for not being a very responsible beta.you know who you are.sorry:#but tangentially related; last night I had one of those core memory moments#it was bed time and fiance was snoozing half-asleep and i was reading fic on the kindle which works great in the dark btw. so dim#and i got up maybe 3 times in 30 mins or so go to the bathroom; get shit i forgot in the other room; etc etc#he's a light sleeper so he tends to wake up a lil#at some point he swapped our body pillows. i have no idea which time i got up it was. i didn't even notice for so long#i use a regular pillow and he has a longer actual body pillow so it was very obvious in hindsight#he loves to mess with me like that. little things make me laugh etc. and in the moment i realised i was just so happy#i'm here in this comfy bed with the man i love reading great fic with the gift he just got me and he's half-asleep and still trying to make#me laugh. and i laugh and laugh and laugh for like 5 mins because i'm so unobservant i didn't even notice it's not my pillow#and not even in a mean way. he loves that about me because he loves me. and he is just so good. so good.#and i was reading a fic about finding someone in any world. i would find him in any world. i would#and i just said 'i love you' and he cuddled into me and went to sleep.#<33333333333333333

#random thoughts#it has the kind of plot i hate where you retread the same plot point repeatedly while making progress elsewhere#like hi falin bye falin#like i cared about them finding falin. then they found her. and now she's gone again.#i don't like marcille but in like. a compelling way. she's my favorite archetype of character who is specifically female for some reason?#lady who thinks her way is the right way and she's morally right and therefore everyone else is wrong#high conscientiousness with low openness to experience. see themselves as agreeable dutiful and restrained while not being any of that#they tend to take on moralistic causes but they usually don't have a defined reason for WHY they're doing it so it just comes off as preachy#and the narrative tends to take their side with no basis in why#like when marcille tried to prove herself with the mandrakes and put everyone in danger and senshi conceded he was ALSO in the wrong???#and even marcille was like 'that wasn't my point at all'#that entire chapter made me mad it was so good#it's also doing that thing i hate when a piece of media introduces too many characters at once#like who's who what's what who is important who should i remember#i love the detail put into the cooking sessions!!!#i love how all the characters are so fucked up and not even in plot-important ways#like chilchuck's cowardice is very important to the plot but senshi was straight-up willing to let a man die for his flavorful cooking lmao#laios is. my man. i need him carnally.#i get that the whole 'got eaten by dragon' thing was not meant to be the Whole Plot but i feel like the background plot is just not my thing#either that or it wasn't set up in a compelling enough way?#idk. im still reading#all in all i think dungeon meshi might just not be my thing? plot-wise i mean. i love the characters and the general premise#of monster biology and environmentalism and cooking and augh#i don't like how everytime senshi corrects marcille on something so far he ends up going 'i guess i also need to learn a thing or two'#like on the mandrakes? the man has FIELD EXPERIENCE he was entirely in the right to prefer his method!!!#and on the environment thing? first of all marcille's whole thing is building artificial dungeons she SHOULD care about the food chain#SECOND OF ALL telling marcille she shouldn't kill so many fishmen isn't playing GOD or whatever#that kraken was a fucking. extenuating circumstance. it was literally there just to make marcille's argument credible#animals killing each other through the food chain is different from marcille using what is essentially a rocket launcher#god i ran out of tags. peace and luv bruvs 🤟 kind of have a hate crush on marcille now. need her

I wonder if the reason they gave Tyr both hands in GOWR is because with the giant’s prophecies the depictions of him (figure with a helmet, beard, and spear) are actually supposed to be Kratos (has beard and spear at least by the end of the game) and it would be Too Obvious the difference between them if prophecies involving Tyr were missing a hand and the ones that are supposed to be Kratos have both
#im rewatching gowr again and in groa's hidden shrine where like. its showing 'tyr' leading ragnarok#its just like. not particularly detailed man with spear in hand (could be draupnir spear) and a beard and a pointy helmet#which i think traditionally is how tyr is depicted. and how he was depicted in the other things that were ACTUALLY about him in game#and since a big driving force in the story is trying to get 'tyr' to Lead Them To Ragnarok because of the prophecies#it would have been obvious. if those prophecies had both hands and tyr did not that the one in the prophecies was not supposed to be tyr#are you picking up what im putting down. do you understand#its just weird that they took away the actual god tyr's like. most notable characteristic (missing hand bc of fenrir)#and explained it away in a random travel dialogue like 'oh yeah he just grew it back'#like there has to be a reason !!!!!!!!!#they play with the gods designs but like with odin and thor they keep the most notable parts of the actual gods descriptions#anyway. sorry for 90% of this being insanity in the tags. many thoughts#talkin about goddy war

oh, I vividly remembered that last scene from HxH, what the heck
#I've gone like 20 episodes without remembering much of anything beyond a few ''oh yeah I remember that plotline'' moments#and then someone threatened Gon and Killua went after him secretly#and the entire scene came back to me in VIVID detail#I went from ''haha is Killua going to pull the So I'm An Assassin And You Will Not Touch My Best Friend routine?? lol classic''#to OH THIS IS THE SCENE WITH THE KNIFE. AND THE MIRROR. AND THE ''CLOSE YOUR EYES SLOWLY''#how many times must I have rewatched that as a kid to remember it that clearly?? left a Huge impression apparently#I guess I've always wanted to be Killua#all the scenes and plotlines I remember best have been his#the skateboard introduction#the Pulling Out A Man's Heart From His Chest#and now apparently the mirror scene#the only other scenes I know are coming involve Killua's sister; Killua developing lightning powers; and Killua grief-stricken about Gon#Robin speaks#hunterxhunterblogging#oh and the cat alien#I don't know if anyone here has seen hxh by the way lol I may just be speaking into the void. but that's alright#I don't actually recommend hunter x hunter but I like it#but it's like. white bread to me. not the most nutritious but good for getting me through rough times#I do not have the spare brainpower for anything more serious than this right now

the struggle of wanting to plop young dean down in new jersey like literally where i live for a fic but not wanting to say where i live sjkdfjsf
#john rents out a cheap basement apartment and leaves them there for like almost a full school yr#while he takes on cases up and down the east coast#i'm thinking dean's like 17 post-nun burning and is gonna have a lil coming of age movie arc#they live close enough to the local schools that they can walk bc dean doesnt have the impala yet#and dean also takes the train (nj transit babeyyy. horrible awful transportation system) and goes to like asbury for punk shows#ends up at a gay bar and has a good honest eye opening chat with an older man (who may or may not be time traveling cas idk yet)#if it's Not part of my series of sort of interconnected time traveling cas one shots then maybe it could be an AU where cas is the same age#idk tho. im not rly that far into the details. just a broad dreamy sketch of the story#oh also they live close to a horse farm (there are. many around here) and dean goes for walks and passes it a lot and waves to the horses#and one day the guy who works there gets to talking w him and invites him to meet the horses and walk around the ranch (a girl can dream)#maybe he ends up getting a little job there cleaning the stables idk#and all throughout there's also this longing to go to the shore. and it's. very close by like they are not far from the beach#but it feels untouchable it feels like a place he can never go and it's all in his head and he's holding himself back and its a metaphor ofc#anyways yeah. i think putting him in jersey could fix him or give him new issues. one of those#vic.txt
