maybe smth of a hot take here but trying to contort every relationship in mhyk into specific ‘romantic’ ‘familial’ ‘teacher and student’ boxes doesn’t actually work in practise because the entire point of the narrative is that these relationships (especially between the older wizards) are complex and ever changing and hard to define in any one particular way. like you can try and tell me that shymurr are “canon” which makes it “okay” but then you’re wilfully ignoring the entire premise of their current relationship which is shylock practically having to raise murr from an animal into a child into a adult all over again and changing his entire personality to better suit shylock’s desires in the process. you’re good with that but cain and owen having an “age gap” (even though cain is a whole grown man) is too much? it’s just hypocritical you’re in the fucked up relationships wizard fandom get over it

West country mhyk are sooooo cute they're so so so cute I love how Shylock& Murr and Rustica & Chloe meet each other and then the two pairs just like. Stick to each other. I'm thinking about this bc of mahostage because I think once they all meet the four of them are only separated for like one scene. Shymurr see Chloe and are so smitten with him like "well this is our little guy now too" and Rustica is like "YES isn't my little guy the best please appreciate my little guy." And then Rustica just fits right in perfectly with shymurr too like yes we ARE all three of us sexy and insane thanks for asking. Sometimes a family can be three centuries-old men with bizarre idiosyncrasies and the 20yo who keeps them grounded while working on developing his own bizarre idiosyncrasies
