💖(How would she take care of Shyvana?)
Send 💖 and I’ll explain one way my Muse would take care of yours.
Harmony absolutely adores Shyvana. She shows it every day with how she treats the other.
A sweet kiss here or there throughout the day, and those long hours cuddling together on the sofa or bed.
2. The late nights when Harmony strokes Shyvana's hair while holding her close. Some nights are harder than others, and Harmony wants to support her when that happens.
3. How she takes care of Shyvana is helping out with housework, making Shyvana's favorites, and giving her all the love and affection in her heart.
4. Harmony also enjoys crafting things for Shyvana, such as beadwork like jewelry or beadwork to adorn weapons or other items. She would also make her lover scarves and blankets, and many other things to make sure Shyvana is warm in those cold days, and have little surprises made with love.
5. Harmony's goal is to make the other woman feel loved, and that she is a true blessing in Harmony's life. She will bend over backwards for her beloved.

The Ultimate Guide to Embroidered Georgette Sarees for Every Occasion
When it comes to traditional Indian attire, sarees hold a special place in the hearts of many. Among the plethora of options available, embroidered georgette sarees stand out for their elegance and versatility. Whether you're attending a wedding, a party, or any festive occasion, these sarees are the perfect blend of style and comfort. In this guide, we'll explore the allure of georgette sarees, focusing on heavy embroidery designs, and why they are an essential addition to any wardrobe.
1. The Allure of Georgette Sarees
Georgette, a lightweight, sheer fabric with a slightly crinkled texture, is a popular choice for sarees. Its flowy nature makes it easy to drape, providing a flattering silhouette for all body types. Georgette sarees are particularly favored for their comfort, making them ideal for long hours of wear during weddings and parties.
2. The Beauty of Embroidery
Embroidery enhances the charm of georgette sarees, adding intricate patterns and designs that elevate their overall appeal. From delicate thread work to heavy zardosi and sequin embellishments, the variety of embroidered designs is vast. These embellishments not only add a touch of opulence but also make the saree suitable for grand occasions.
3. Rani Color Sarees: A Timeless Choice
The vibrant rani (pink) color is a timeless favorite in Indian fashion. Rani color sarees, especially in georgette with embroidery, exude a regal charm. This striking hue is perfect for making a bold statement, whether at a wedding or a festive celebration. Pair it with traditional jewelry to complete the royal look.
4. Heavy Embroidery Sarees for Weddings
Weddings are the perfect occasion to don a heavy embroidery saree. These sarees often feature elaborate designs with intricate beadwork, sequins, and zari, making them a showstopper. The combination of georgette fabric and heavy embroidery ensures that you not only look stunning but also feel comfortable throughout the celebrations.
5. Affordable Elegance: Cheap Georgette Sarees
You don't have to break the bank to look stylish. There are plenty of affordable georgette sarees available that don't compromise on quality or design. Look for options with simpler embroidery if you're on a budget. These sarees are perfect for casual parties or smaller functions where you want to look elegant without going over the top.
6. Party Wear Sarees: Glamour and Comfort
Party wear sarees in georgette with light to moderate embroidery strike the perfect balance between glamour and comfort. Opt for sarees with trendy designs like floral patterns, geometric shapes, or modern motifs. These sarees are versatile and can be styled in various ways to suit different party themes.
7. Styling Your Embroidered Georgette Saree
To make the most of your embroidered georgette saree, here are a few styling tips:
Blouse Selection: Choose a contrasting or matching blouse with complementary embroidery to enhance the saree's beauty.
Jewelry: Pair your saree with traditional jewelry like jhumkas, bangles, and a statement necklace for a complete look.
Footwear: Opt for comfortable yet stylish footwear like embellished sandals or heels.
Hair and Makeup: Go for a classic updo or loose curls, and keep your makeup elegant with a focus on the eyes and lips.
8. Where to Buy
Finding the perfect embroidered georgette saree is now easier than ever. Numerous online platforms offer a wide range of options, from high-end designer sarees to budget-friendly choices. Additionally, local boutiques and sari shops are great places to explore and find unique pieces.
Conclusion
Embroidered georgette sarees are a must-have for anyone who loves traditional Indian fashion. Their elegance, comfort, and versatility make them suitable for a variety of occasions, from weddings to casual parties. With the right styling, an embroidered georgette saree can make you look and feel like royalty. So, whether you're shopping for a rani color saree, a heavy embroidery saree for
a wedding, or an affordable party wear option, there's an embroidered georgette saree out there that will perfectly match your needs and style.
Exploring Different Styles and Trends
9. Contemporary Embroidery Trends
While traditional embroidery remains timeless, contemporary designs are making waves in the fashion world. Modern embroidered georgette sarees often feature abstract patterns, digital prints combined with hand embroidery, and fusion styles that blend Western and Indian aesthetics. These sarees cater to the younger generation looking for a blend of tradition and modernity.
10. Customization: Personalizing Your Saree
For those who seek uniqueness, customizing an embroidered georgette saree is an excellent option. Many designers and boutiques offer bespoke services where you can choose the fabric, color, embroidery style, and other details. Personalized sarees not only reflect your personal style but also ensure that you have a one-of-a-kind piece.
Caring for Your Embroidered Georgette Saree
Proper care ensures that your beautiful saree remains in pristine condition for years to come. Here are some tips:
Storage: Store your saree in a cool, dry place. Use muslin cloth to wrap the saree, which helps in protecting the embroidery.
Cleaning: Dry cleaning is recommended for heavily embroidered sarees to maintain the quality of the fabric and the embellishments.
Handling: Be gentle when handling the saree to avoid pulling or damaging the embroidery threads. Avoid wearing heavy jewelry that might snag the fabric.
Conclusion: Embrace the Elegance of Embroidered Georgette Sarees
Embroidered georgette sarees encapsulate the essence of Indian tradition while offering modern comfort and style. From vibrant rani color sarees to intricate wedding ensembles, these sarees are perfect for any occasion. Whether you prefer heavy embroidery or subtle designs, there's a georgette saree that will suit your taste and make you stand out.
Invest in these timeless pieces, experiment with different styles, and embrace the elegance and grace that only a beautifully embroidered georgette saree can offer. With the right care and styling, these sarees will remain a cherished part of your wardrobe, ready to make you shine at every event.

What does the metis in your bio mean? Is it about the greek goddess?
I actually didn't know there was a greek goddess called Metis until I looked it up just now lol but that's super cool!
Anyway,
I am Métis. This means that I have both Indigenous and European ancestry (French and Cree in my case), as well as possessing a Métis citizenship card. There are communities in both the U.S. as well as in Canada but it appears that the former doesn't really have as much of a distinct Métis community which might explain why you haven't heard of us before. I added my ethnicity in my bio as a clarifier of sorts for when I reblog more political posts so as to add a bit of context as to where I'm coming from regarding certain issues.
Thank you for asking 💛🌼✨

Hi guys. So I am writing a little story for the holiday season. It is very fluff-tastic, mostly family and love with a minimum of plot. I very much hope someone enjoys it!
Heart’s Abundance
Part 1 - Giving Thanks
Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5 , Part 6
Bree and I are sitting in the kitchen, enjoying my own special blend of “Liberty Tea,” a mixture of dried strawberry leaves, lemon balm, and chamomile. It is hot, fragrant, and delicious. As we sip, the afternoon sun warms the whole room, giving the feeling of a golden cocoon in the midst of a particularly cold November day. Adso is with us, basking in a windowsill, and we are all practically purring with contentment. Then the sound of dried leaves crackling underfoot reaches our ears. We have visitors. Brianna and I sigh slightly but smile at each other. She opens the door while I take a honey cake from the cupboard.
It is Young Ian and Rachel. I smile warmly at them. Ian is dressed in particular native splendor today, owing to a visit from a group of prominent Mohawks passing through. His head is freshly plucked and spiked, with metal ornaments and turkey feathers hanging from the back.  Over his pink calico shirt is a vest decorated with astonishing beadwork, and his buckskin trousers are fringed. Next to him Rachel’s Quaker attire is a contrast. She is in a gray wool dress with plain white cap and kerchief. As she enters the sunny room, she unwraps her shawl to reveal the newest Murray, snuggled in a sling against his mother.
Brianna closes the door behind them, then her face lights with a smile, “Why, you look like a Thanksgiving pageant!”
The couple look at each other in incomprehension. “A what, cuz?” Ian inquires.
“You know! When the Pilgrims and Indians ate together. At Plymouth? It was a long time ago…” Her voice becomes more hesitant as the faces of our guests remain blank.
I understand the difficulty. Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated now, even though the famous harvest meal happened more than one hundred years before. I’m struggling to salvage this time-travel faux pas when Jamie steps through the door leading to the front of the house. He bends to kiss my cheek then crosses to wiggle a finger at the newly freed baby. “And what’s that then?” he says, turning to Brianna. “Is thanksgiving not something you do, no a meal?”
“Well…” she hesitates, then boldly rushes on. “Where I grew up, in Boston, some people take a day near the end of November to give thanks for their blessings. They celebrate with a feast and invite close friends and family.”
“It sounds lovely,” Rachel says kindly, “though oughtn’t we to give thanks every day?”
“Of course,” Brianna agrees, ‘it’s just nice to take a special moment for it now and then.” She looks wistfully at me. “Right Mama?”
Suddenly I recall craft-paper feathers, Macy’s parade on the television, and the taste of a cranberry jello salad in perfect vividness. I move to stand by Brianna and take her arm, smiling softly in understanding. “Yes, darling. It is.”
Jamie looks at us and his own face grows tender. Rachel still looks confused, but Ian, who has been watching carefully exclaims, “Sounds like a fine idea! We should have our own thanks meal, aye?”
I look at Ian gratefully, thankful indeed for his enthusiastic spirit. I also see Jamie’s face. It is creasing slowly into a smile. “Aye. We should.”
Brianna’s hand tightens on my arm in excitement. “Great! We’ll have Thanksgiving on the Ridge!”
-o0OOO0o-
A few days later I pull Brianna’s turkey out of the oven and baste it well with drippings, butter, and thyme before pushing it back inside for another half hour. It is nearly time to eat and the bounty of the Ridge is spread throughout the kitchen. It will be a delicious meal (if I do say so myself). The smell is heaven, and by the discreet peeking and increasingly frequent visits of men and small children, they think so too.
Jamie and Brianna brought down this large tom the day before. Even with ten people there would be plenty to go around. I had also dug the last of the fresh vegetables and emptied the pantry. Fanny had spent the entire prior afternoon baking. It would be a feast indeed.
The table is set and festooned with colorful dried leaves and pinecones. Roger even wove a clever cornucopia from twigs and filled it with gourds. Perfect. The turkey has a chestnut mushroom stuffing. There are also yams and brussels sprouts and onion gravy, and (elegance indeed!) yeast dinner rolls rather than corn bread. Crocks of butter and honey and jam round out the meal. My mouth waters just setting it all out.
Soon everyone gathers and we ceremoniously present the pièce de résistance on a platter. Looking from face to face around our large farm table I see Fanny’s eyes widen and smile happily to myself. We are all here, Brianna, Roger, Jem, and Mandy. Germain and Fanny. Jenny and Ian and Rachel with the baby sleeping peacefully in a basket. Jamie takes my hand and gives it a squeeze, then leans over and whispers, “I often think your time strange, Sassenach, but this is fine, aye?” He kisses my lips softly.
The others, used to us, are chattering away. Jamie straightens, clears his throat and waits for quiet, then looks to the end of the table, saying formally, “Ieremiah, an toireadh tu taing?“
Jem, sensitive to the honor thus bestowed, sits up straight as an arrow, “Aye, sir.” He folds his hands before him and I am suddenly reminded of my first dinner at Leoch, when young Hamish said grace. Jem has the same red hair. I add Hamish to my prayers as we all bow our heads together.
“Dear Holy Father. Thank ye for the food before us. Thank ye for our family and friends. Bless us, O Lord, and help us to do good always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
“Amen,” the table echoes.
Jemmy peaks at his father, and at Roger’s nod of approval relaxes happily in his chair. Jamie carves and wafts of fragrant steam are released. The table makes noises of appreciation all around. We fill our plates and enjoy the meal.
“You know,” Roger says, buttering a roll. Since we are giving thanks today, maybe we should each say something we’re thankful for. I believe that’s something they do in Boston, aye Brianna?” He smiles at his wife and she nods.
“Oh yes, it’s a tradition.” When no one volunteers she goes on, and looking directly at Jamie and I, “I’m thankful to be home.” Brianna then turns to Mandy on her right. “And what about you sweetheart? What are you thankful for?”
Mandy turns up a honey-smeared face and smiles. “I thankful for Esmeralda!”
Everyone chuckles and Roger goes next. “I’m thankful for family, for my wife and bairns.”
Jem says, “I’m thankful for Grandda. And Grandma,” he adds hastily.
Germain is next. “I’m thankful for my friends.” He smiles at Fanny and Jem.
Fanny answers in a small voice, “I’m thankful to Mr. and Mrs. Fraser for keeping me.”
“Oh Fanny,” I say gently, “We want to.” She blinks quickly and gives a small smile and we continue.
Jenny, Ian, and Rachel take their turns.
“I’m thankful for our new wee bairn.”
“I’m thankful to have my mam here, and my wife.”
“I’m thankful for the peace we enjoy here.”
Jamie says simply, “I’m thankful for ye, Sassenach.”
I look around the table slowly and finally turn my face up to Jamie, the man who is my heart, “I’m thankful for each of us. For love and family. For every moment.”
“Amen,” he says, and kisses me.
-o0OOO0o-
Soon afterward the table is cleared, and dessert brought out. We have apple tansey, clootie dumpling, and for Brianna, pumpkin pie. There is also custard and sweet cream. I am just setting coffee to boil when a solid thump sounds on the front door. Everyone freezes in surprise for a heartbeat. Visitors are nearly unheard-of this time of year. Then, just as chaos breaks out, Jamie rises. He walks to the front of the house, myself close behind. He seems unhurried and calm, but I notice he carries the carving knife in his left hand.
Jamie opens the door, letting in a blast of frigid November air. What greets us looks like nothing so much as a bear covered in deer hide. Albeit a bear with merry blue eyes glinting above his beard.
“Myers!” Jamie greets the mountain man warmly, discreetly passing the knife to me. I stash it in my deep pocket. “Welcome! What brings ye here so late in the year?”
The bristles part with Myers’ grin. “Well, I’ll tell ‘ee sir. I’ve come wi’ company. Found ‘im near frozen on his way up from Cross Creek.” He steps aside to reveal a second figure in the dooryard, just as tall, but more solidly built.
Peering around Jamie’s shoulder my mouth falls open in shock. The last person I ever expected to see on the Ridge is the Ninth Earl of Ellesmere.
For once I recover more quickly than Jamie, and step around my husband. “William!” I say in sincere pleasure.
The young man looks up a bit uncertainly, then seeing my happiness recovers himself. “Mother Claire.” He might have said more but is prevented by a blur of yellow homespun that comes hurtling through the door and crashes into his middle. William teeters precariously at the impact before coming solidly back to his feet, Frances Pocock clinging to him in perfect imitation of a baby opossum on its mother’s back.
“William! Oh William! I thought I might never th-, see you again!”
William gingerly pats the capped head. “It’s good to see you again too, Fanny.” He smiles gently down, a slight shadow passing briefly in the depths of his slanted eyes. He gently disentangled Fanny and turns to Jamie. “I hope our arrival isn’t a cause of inconvenience to you sir. I…”
Seeing him hesitate I break in as politely as I can. “Of course not! You are both most welcome! Come in and warm up. We are just about to have dessert.”
I usher the newcomers and the gaping crowd back into the kitchen. In a few moments of flurried activity William and John Quincey are greeted by all and settled at the table, the children relocated to stools.
“We had a fine harvest this year so we’re having a wee meal to celebrate and give thanks for it,” Jamie explains, smiling.
“Judging from this bounty, indeed you have!” Myers exclaims as he unabashedly fills his plate with apple tansey, sweet cream, and one of the remaining rolls covered in honey and jam. Jem and Germain looking on in fascination.
I pour him coffee, hiding a smile. “We’re pleased to share it with you.”
William eats more sedately, but with evident pleasure. Watching him, Fanny on one side and Brianna on the other, I wonder suddenly why he has come. Then I look at Jamie. He is watching the boy as well, and though his face is expressionless, to me his eyes reveal the joy he takes in the sight. No. The reason doesn’t matter. I slide my arm around Jamie’s and lean against him, expressing without words my own joy in his happiness.

The entire bunker was echoing as Sam let out a loud “Whoop!!” and kissed his Omega. Well wishes came from all, but none more thrilled than the expectant parents. YN put in a call to her own parents, not giving details, but asking if she and Sam could come by for a visit. (Mom & Dad) were happy to hear from their daughter, and even more thrilled to have them visit.
The four-hour drive was filled with plans for a nursery as well as lots of ideas for baby names. YN made sure to tell Sam about the estate, more specifically the fact that it was quite extensive. She didn’t want him to feel uncomfortable with the fact that her family was rich. Sam assured her that he was fine and not to worry.
She worried anyways, because Michael would also be there. They hadn’t spoken or seen each other since that first night she met Sam. Her mind drifted back to memories of when she and Michael were younger, and compared them to Sam’s first impression of her brother. Jealousy.
Sam looked over at YN. “You ok?” he asked.
She nodded. “Yeah, just thinking about Michael. Haven’t seen or heard from him since that first night. Darren has checked in more than Mike. Hell, I’ve heard from my Nana more than from Mike.”
She looked over at Sam and sighed. He sensed her sadness, but he didn’t know what to say. He did, however, want to kick her brother’s ass for hurting YN like that. But he wouldn’t, not without a damn good reason anyways.
She was so pre-occupied that she almost missed the private road. “Turn here Sam.”
He slowed and turned, stopping when he hit a dead end five minutes later. “YN?”
“Apparuistis.” She exclaimed.
Where stood a dense forest now appeared a large security gate. Sam gave a low whistle of wonder as he surveyed the extensive grounds, driving up to the parking area YN had pointed to, and putting the Impala in park. Dean was a tad apprehensive about loaning Baby, but he trusted his brother and YN implicitly. The classic car was in impeccable condition, and would impress everyone.
Both were greeted warmly by YN’s parents, Nana, and Darren. Michael was no where to be found. She asked the question that weighed on her, though in her heart, she already knew the answer. “Mama, where’s Mike?”
The room went quiet. It was Darren who spoke up. “YN, no one’s seen him for days. He disappeared shortly after you and Sam got together.”
Tears fell from YN’s eyes, and Sam wrapped his arms and escorted her to the living room. The others followed, bringing mint tea and some fresh baked cookies. YN felt a bit better after partaking in the refreshments. Her mother sat down beside her, and attempted a distraction.
“So, why the sudden visit, YN?”
YN glanced over at Sam, who smiled and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. “Well…Sam and I are having twins!”
Sam nearly choked on his cookie, his eyes wide as saucers. Shouts of joy filled the parlour as the family celebrated, hugging both Sam and YN. Sam wore a huge grin for the rest of the day, through dinner, dessert, and the entire night. Twins! He wasn’t just gonna be a father, he was going to be a father twice! He made sweet gentle love to his Omega that night, mindful of her newfound condition.
The next morning, both were awakened by YN’s mother, who insisted they come downstairs immediately, nicely dressed. The two showered, and found nice, semi-formal clothing waiting on the bed for them. The clothes were fine silk, and Sam was surprised at how accurate the fit was. YN giggled at her Alpha’s expression, explaining some of her mother’s gifts to him. She had a knack for size and clothing creation, it was similar to how a photographic memory worked. YN stared at her dress, intricate beadwork adorning the neckline and the bodice. These were wedding clothes, or her tribe’s version of them.
The ceremony itself was short and simple, and YN wasn’t really surprised that this was planned. Sam wasn’t complaining, and neither was she. In reality, she liked this better…no big crowds, and no dress shopping. YN’s father escorted her down after her mother had escorted Sam down. Nana was standing in the parlour, waiting as (father’s name) brought her to Sam, putting her hand in his. Nana took a white silk ribbon and bound their joined hands while chanting, “Benedicite, amare, uxor, cor.”
Then, once the ribbon was secure, Nana looked at the couple and smiled. Raising her hands to the sky she whispered, “Ut benedicat haec duo sunt matrimonia iungeremus.”
The family stood. “Benedicat eis!”
YN smiled at Sam, who looked ridiculously happy, but mildly confused. “This is the kissing part.” She whispered, and Sam dove in, his mouth claiming hers as every one gathered to wish them well. The happy couple received numerous hugs and congratulations, and were thrilled beyond belief when they saw Dean and Jo, who had been invited over by Darren.
The feast lasted the better part of the day and evening. Sam and YN did manage to sneak off for a few minutes here and there, returning with slightly disheveled attire and both were blushing furiously. Everyone just acted as if that was perfectly normal, which it was for newlyweds. Darren had brought his Omega, Nikki as well, one of YN’s best friends, for the celebration. Sam, YN, Dean, Jo, Darren and Nikki talked and laughed for a better part of the night, becoming great friends by the end.
It was 5:00am when YN felt something strong, it was power, but from where she couldn’t guess. Quietly she slipped from the bed and peeked out the window to the grass below. Movement caught her eye. It almost looked like Michael, but the darkness made identifying him difficult. Stupid dickhead! If he’d gotten involved with drugs or some such shit, she’d kill him.
As quietly as she could, she slipped on joggers and a tee, carrying her runners so she wouldn’t make noise. She almost made it to the bedroom door.
“Where are you going, Omega?” came the groggy, yet commanding voice of her Alpha.
“Outside for a minute. I thought I heard something. I’m going to check it out.” YN whispered.
Before she could even blink he was there beside her. “Half truths are almost the same as lying YN. Talk to me.”
‘How can I? It could take you away from me! From our children!’
Her thoughts cried out to him, but she remained silent. Forasmuch as she wanted to tell him the truth, there was too much risk. Or was there. If this was to do with Mike, and her gut feeling, then she needed to keep Sam as far away as possible.
Still, despite the prophecy, he could end up involved or worse, killed. Tears fell from her (eye color) orbs, and she allowed Sam to hold her as sobs broke out. Sam soothed her with gentle words, stroking her hair, until she was able to talk.
“Oh Sam, I am so afraid of losing you, that’s why I haven’t said anything. Please stay here. I couldn’t bare it if you died because of me. Please Sam!”
Her Alpha sighed. He could sense her fear and the truth behind her words. But he had vowed to protect her, to keep her safe, and that wasn’t going to happen if she went by herself.
“Omega, look at me, please.” YN brought her eyes up to meet his. “I made a promise to your father and mother, that I would protect you, and I intend to uphold my promise, and my vow to you. I’m coming with you, and there’s no talking me out of it.”
He held her close, nuzzling her neck as he always did. It brought her some comfort, his scent had become her own personal calming agent. Besides, at least this way she could watch him, and ensure his safety. Plus, there were the pups to think about now, she really couldn’t blame him for wanting to come. She just didn’t want to lose him either, so right then she decided to dig her own path, and stray from the warnings.
“Ok, Sam, but I need to tell you something first. Please don’t hate me.” YN’s voice was barely a whisper.
“I could never hate you.” Came his reply.
He pulled her onto his lap as she began to speak, telling him the whole story: the prophecy, the powers, the mark…all of it. Once finished, she closed her eyes and waited for the yelling and hurt feelings that she was so sure would follow. Instead, Sam stroked her hair and kissed the top of her head.
“We’ll be ok YN, promise.” He whispered. “I’ve got your back always.”
She wanted to believe him. Her mind blocked out the negative as she and her Alpha made their way outside. She had to believe his promise, or she wouldn’t be able to do this, whatever this was. Michael had disappeared from view, but his scent was strong, too strong. Mike was in a rut, a bad one. Sam noticed it too, a low growl escaping his chest as he followed his Omega closely, senses on high alert. Brother or not, if he made any move toward YN that Sam perceived as threatening, Sam would tear Michael to shreds.
The scent continued deep into the woods. Sam held YN’s hand, never wanting to let go. He had a bad feeling, one that only intensified after hearing YN’s story, and hearing about the prophecy. And now with Michael in a rut? That just added to the excitement.
YN motioned for them to stop, so they waited and listened. Voices, two distinct ones, Michael and one she didn’t recognize, were coming from the clearing. Then light flashed, bright enough to blind the eavesdroppers briefly.
The light faded as Michael’s voice rang out, or at least it sounded like Mike. But YN knew her brother well enough. Whoever was talking, it most certainly was not her twin.
“YN? Come closer. Bring your mate. I know your there. Don’t make me come find you.”
Sam squeezed her hand with some reassurance, and the two stepped into the open. The man before them smelled like her brother, and yet it didn’t smell or sound like him. The saw his eyes, and Sam knew what had happened.
“Michael.” He said quietly.
YN looked at her Alpha with even more confusion. “Sam, what…?”
Sam stopped her. “No YN, not your brother. The Archangel Michael.”
Michael stepped forward, and Sam bared his fangs, growling deep in his chest. “Stay back. You touch her and I’ll rip you apart.”
The Archangel-turned-Alpha flicked his wrist, expecting to send Sam flying against the nearest tree. But he didn’t.
Instead, at the same moment, YN’s voice rang out.
“Clipeum!”
Sam stood as the force went around his form, shocking him but his anger never waivered. YN wasn’t even close to being done, however.
“Ignis!”
Michael was caught off guard at the sudden attack, and his meat suit went flying against the nearest tree. His clothes were slightly charred, but still intact. He wasted no time, and gained the upper hand while YN was focused on the offense. He lifted Sam into the air, slowly constricting his airways.
YN cried out. “No! Leave him alone!”
Michael pondered this, his mouth turning slowly into a smile that made YN shiver. “Why should I? He and his brother have been thorns in my side for a while now. Plus…, he added, “This one took you as his mate, before your brother could claim you as his own.”
YN visibly paled, but she stood her ground. “Michael please. You know he’s my soulmate! Leave him be. Please! I’ll do anything. Just don’t hurt him.” Tears fell as she begged the Archangel for mercy.
“Be careful what you promise, YN. Here’s the deal. I’ll leave your Alpha alive, hell I’ll spare all the Winchesters if…” his smile turned dark, and YN felt nauseous, “You renounce Sam and take me as your Alpha.”
“NO!” Sam screamed, his eyes read with anger. “YN, don’t! Live free! I’m not worth that.” He stared at his nemesis/brother in law. “You can’t trust him.”
YN’s heart was torn. Her love for Sam, and her desire to keep him safe, versus an eternity of misery in a loveless union, with her own flesh and blood as her Alpha. She felt sick inside. What kind of choice was this? The outcome sucked either way. If she said no, Sam would die. If she said yes, Sam would live but she would no longer be his. Sam was right though. There was no guarantee Michael would keep his word. Then she had another thought.
“If I say yes, Sam, Dean, and all their family and friends live. You don’t touch them, you don’t hurt them in any way. And when my pups are born, Sam gets sole custody of them, his to raise. That’s my condition. If you go back on the deal, our union is void and Sam becomes mine again.”
“YN! Don’t worry about me! Let me go. Don’t give in to that monster!” Sam cried.
Tears fell hard. “I love you too much Sam. I can’t watch him kill you. Promise me you’ll take good care of our pups. Please!”
Sam nodded, and YN turned to Michael. “Do we have a deal, Michael?” She held her hand out to her brother-turned-angel.
Michael stepped forth to grab the hand, eager to seal the deal. “We do indeed.”
YN’s hand closed around her brother’s hand and smiled. “NOW SAM!”
Michael frowned and went to move, but realized quickly that he was frozen in place. Then fear filled him as Sam spoke an all too familiar verse:
Omnipotentis dei potestatem invoco
Omnipotentis dei potestatem invoco
Aborbe terra
Hunc angelum omne obsequendum
Domine expuet
Domine expuet
Ut deum ad empyreum remittat
YN, still holding his hand, clarified. “See, you are smart, the whole plan was actually pretty good. But, both you and my dumbass brother overlooked a few things.”
Sam stood up, no longer in Michael’s power, and came to stand beside his Omega.
YN continued. “My brother and I are twins…identical twins. Near impossible, I know, but our DNA will prove it. We share a special connection no one else does. Telepathy. I knew the moment he came to you. I knew all of it, all the betrayal. I wanted so hard to believe that my own brother wasn’t capable of that. I tried to find a way to bring him back to us.”
Sam spoke then. “YN told me everything. The reason you can’t move? Her palm has an angel trap on it, bound with her power. She is indeed very powerful, I’d venture more powerful than you. And…”, he leaned in close, teeth bared, “she’s mine.”
YN let his hand go then, and Michael, the archangel, began to leave her brother’s body. But in a parting shot, the angel went to send Sam flying against the nearest tree in an attempt to kill him, but YN felt the thought and pushed Sam out of the way, the blast sending her flying, crashing against a large pine. Bones shattered, and YN cried out, her body crumpling to the ground. Sam screamed her name, his rage directed at Michael, incinerating him and his host. He ran to his Omega, his beautiful YN, checking for a pulse.
He found none.
Sam’s grief was great. His voice howled through the woods as he mourned his loss. As he lay his head on her chest, tears covering her shirt, he stroked her hair and kissed her, then he covered his face as sadness consumed him.
There was movement, but none that he noticed at first. Sam’s tears began to glow, and disappear into YN’s skin. Then his eyes snapped open as the shattered bones of her spine began to pull themselves back together. Her lungs drew breath, and YN coughed as her eyes opened, the oxygen flooding her system.
Sam’s jaw dropped to the ground, staring at the miracle that had just happened. He wasted no time in gathering her into his arms, kissing her fiercely. She moaned, partly from pain and confusion, and partly because she was enjoying the attentions her alpha was showing her. She knew partly the reason for the emotional overflow…she’d died…and honestly she wasn’t sure how she was sitting up and breathing. That’s when she felt it, or rather them…her twins! They had used healing power on her, which was near unheard of. Most infants, no matter their lineage, didn’t have that kind of knowledge.
Sam’s power though, she knew where that came from. She’d given him the ability to share her powers when she had left her mark on his shoulder, in other words, the mating bite she’d bestowed upon him. The prophecy. She shook her head as everything fell into place.
Then there was her twin…the one puzzle piece she had wanted to be wrong about. His behavior made sense now, but it was still alot for her to process. Sam helped YN to stand up, supporting her until he was sure she wouldn’t fall, and together they started back to the house. She had no idea what she was going to tell her parents or Darren, but at least now she felt safe, felt at peace. There were no more threats or immediate danger to her or Sam.

Commissions
I take commissions on an irregular basis.  Currently, since I don’t get many, commissions are open.  The price will almost entirely depend on the price of the materials and the complexity of what you’re asking for.
Time it takes me to finish:
Beaded beads (individual): <1 day
Earrings: 1-2 days
Bracelet: 1-14 days
Necklace: 1-21 days
Hand armor: 2-4 weeks
Stitches, designs, and techniques that I’m not familiar with will take longer.
All of my work is handmade and the time it takes to finish relies entirely upon piece complexity, free time (as I have two jobs and attend classes), and motivation.  Beading is one of my many hobbies.
When you request a commission, I will need measurement(s) in inches of the part of the body the jewelry is for, a theme (color scheme), and what the jewelry is for (casual, cosplay, or formal.)  If you have a design from the magazines Bead & Button or Beadwork that you’d like me to use, I’ll happily make those, just know that there are a number of designs I can’t make as my local beading store doesn’t sell newer beads (partially because it’s a small, older store and partially because those beads are expensive.)
Prices can be worked out but minimal cost for supplies is generally $5-$10 and then ~$1 per hour of work +shipping.  You won’t be required to pay until I’ve completed your commission, however know that I will not ship your commission until I’ve received payment.
Commission slots currently open:

January is (finally) over! In this post, I’m going to wrap up what I read for the Own Voices Global Challenge for Indigenous America, share with you some cool playlists and accounts I love on Instagram, and we’re going to close up with a bit of info on some current topics in Indigenous America that you should be aware of. Let’s go!
What I Read
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
This book is a cornerstone of Native American young adult literature. Released in 2007, Alexie racked up a ton of awards and nominations for this book, including National Book Award for Young People and the American Indian Youth Literature Award for Best Young Adult Book, but it also was banned in some places for discussing sexuality (it’s about a high school boy, what do you expect?!). It follows the trials and tribulations of high-schooler Junior as he navigates his indigenous identity. Ultimately deciding to leave the reservation school for a better education at a white school, Junior deals with the fallout among his friends back home, deals with new bullies and casual racism at his new school, and finds his feet as a basketball star. Overall, I found the book real and charming in the ways that teen books can be. I’m not a huge contemporary YA reader, so the genre didn’t help the book in my opinion, but I did like the nuance of the Indian experience in this novel.
The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee: Native America from 1890 to the Present by David Treuer
Let me begin by saying I loved this book. I’ve gotten really into nonfiction lately, and when I heard about this book I had to get it. Shortly after, I made the global reading challenge so it worked perfectly! It’s a hefty book, filled with a lot of political discussion and history, so be prepared for that, but I think it’s an absolutely essential read for Americans. Treuer recounts Indigenous North American history from prehistory to the beginnings of colonization in the first part, so don’t let the title mislead you — it’s an absolutely comprehensive look at Native American history literally to the present day. It’s filled with stories, data, reflection, and conversation. I loved Treuer’s conversations with modern Indian people across the country, and I think the power of this book really lies in the honest and raw look at how the American government is corrupt, crooked, and ultimately deeply racist and biased. There is no making America great again, because Treuer points out that America was never great to begin with. However, this isn’t all doom and gloom and disaster. Treuer remains optimistic and hopeful, noting that while America may never have been great, we can make it great ourselves. The greatness of America isn’t in the past, but in the future that we can form and craft and shape to benefit everyone who lives here.
Heart Berries by Terese Marie Mailhot
This one was hugely recommended to me. It was a quick read, taking me perhaps only a couple of hours to read. This book was also outside of my genre comfort zone, as I don’t usually read memoirs (the occasional celebrity memoir but those are limited). It wasn’t my cup of tea, I think for the genre alone, but there were some aspects I really liked. I liked the look at the modern Indigenous American identity off the reservation in the modern world. I think a lot of popular Indigenous works are popular because they take place on the reservation which is really a way for white readers to gawk at the Otherness of Indigenous people. I also liked the frank discussion of mental health and the struggles that people who are neuro-divergent and/or traumatized face when they are dealing with people in their lives who don’t get what mental health can be like. I’ll be honest: I did not like Casey, and I was quite upset to hear that Mailhot had continued her relationship with him. Oh, well. To each her own!
P.S. I started Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse (pictured above), but I just couldn’t get into the story. Edgy supernatural fiction isn’t really my speed!
Check This Out
I like to tune my playlists to what I’m reading. While I was reading Treuer’s book and Mailhot’s memoir, I wanted a playlist that helped me settle into the Indigenous American world and music is a huge way that I do that. I found a set of playlists on Spotify, and particularly enjoyed listening to a variety of genres and styles of music (search Native America on Spotify to find the genre!). Here’s what I most enjoyed:
This is Redbone – I’m obsessed with “Come and Get Your Love” and “The Witch Queen of New Orleans”.
Dreamcatcher – This was a great instrumental playlist, but it did make me kinda sleepy.
This is Mary Youngblood – A mix of singing and instrumentals, this playlist was really soothing and relaxing.
I follow some great instagram accounts for Indigenous people who share great resources, make amazing art, and are activists for the modern Indigenous American community. These are just a few of the ones I engage with, so make sure to follow links, explore their pages, and support them if you can! Share their work, find new voices, and listen to them. They’re amazing!
@maybell.eequay – Maybell is such a beautiful soul and makes such amazing traditional Indigenous art. Her bitten birchbark art is so insane and beautiful! She often sells her beadwork via her stories so keep your eyes peeled! She also shares a lot about her tribe’s native language which is really interesting and a huge issue in the Indigenous community as the languages struggle to survive.
@lamalayerbalove – Xochitlcoatl is an indigi-queer activist who shares inspiring and affirming messages on their page at the same time that they work to dismantle patriarchal, racist, and exclusive structures in the world. They are positive, affirming, and spiritual. Great resource to learn about the intersections of identity.
@the_sioux_chef – I learned about Sean Sherman from Treuer’s book and was so intrigued by his mission to make food with the indigenous ingredients that the Indigenous populations of the northern US would have used. His food is so beautiful and looks so yummy. He’s also an activist for Indigenous people and speaks often about Native American history being American history.
Finally, I want to close out with some links to info that you should know about.
Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women: According to the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women, 4 out of 5 Indigenous women are affected by violence and they are 10 times more likely to be murdered. These are shocking and terrifying numbers. The MMIW movement is seeking to bring public awareness to this issue, help find missing girls and women, solve their murders, and change the patriarchal and sexists mindsets that allow this violence to continue unchecked. Check this site to find out more about this movement and how you can help those affected.
Racist Sports Mascots: This weekend is Super Bowl Weekend, and this year, the Kansas City Chiefs are playing on the biggest field in the world. The use of Native American imagery, tropes, and stereotypes in sports is not news, but for the first time in a while, this fight is being taken to the national stage with the Super Bowl. Here in Atlanta, we have our own history of negative stereotypes in sports, as for years the Braves national baseball team used a Native American mascot and still performs tomahawk cheers in the stands. Tara Houska took to the New York Times to share her grievances and griefs on this topic in a moving essay about the damage of this old-fashioned racism.
Me Too and Sherman Alexie: This was something that I wanted to bring up since I did read an Alexie novel for this challenge. In 2018, Alexie was stripped of his American Indian Youth Literature Award following allegations of sexual misconduct from women who worked with Alexie. At the time, the world of children’s publishing was beginning to tremble with allegations and ramifications of a culture of sexual harassment and abuse from men in the community with power. Anne Ursu wrote an expose for Medium that revealed a dangerous environment in the world of children’s book publishing. Since the news broke, Alexie has released a statement in which he suggests that while the encounters with other women happened, he did not intimidate or threaten their careers — basically that the encounters were consensual. Alexie has been striped of awards and the scholarship named after him at the Institute of American Indian Arts has been renamed. Sexual harassment, rape, and denial about these issues continue to plague modern institutions. We must continue to support survivors, believe them, and hold men in power accountable for their actions. Visit the Me Too Movement to learn more.
I hope you enjoyed the titles you read this month for Indigenous America! Share with me below what you read. Also, please share with me any other resources, news, activists, creatives, or titles that you think display the diversity and beauty in Indigenous American Own Voices. Happy reading!
