I really want to one day make a typical otome game and spend a good amount of time advertising it. All the romance interests are clearly laid out. I'll release demos and character sheets. I'll make sure everyone knows the characters very well and which one they want to go for, so when the game comes out, everyone will know what to expect. And for the most part, everything does follow their expectations. Once you know what to do, getting the love interests to fall is easy. That is, all until they get to a certain route.

It first starts off weird when they don't appear where the guide says they're supposed to. After a few reloads, you finally find them on the complete opposite side of the map. But... there seems to be something off about them. They're not smiling like how they did in all the advertisements. And when you try to appeal to them, they react in disgust.

You try to follow up with them, but they're never in their favorite places. You find out in a rude awakening that they hate the gifts the game guide promotes. The more you try to capture their heart in the way you should, the more they come to hate you.

Eventually you get the bad ending, so you try your hand at him again. You begin utilizing the quick save/quick load option more and more. You make sure he responds well to every interaction you have with him. And at first, it works great. But slowly, things begin to change. He begins to avoid you. He regards you with suspicious eyes. In the end, you get a bad ending once more.

You try again and again with different combinations, but no matter how much you try, you can't get the good ending. Eventually you get fed up and decide to throw caution to the wind. You decide not to follow any otome logic anymore and decide to respond to his interactions how you would in normal life. And without even realizing it,

You get the good end.

i mean, recommending dan fic of HIMSELF going through this extreme tragedy is its own thing, but i feel like stuff like, recommending ddlc or omori for dnp to play is another. they are people who have watched a lot of media, and they know their own triggers. dan's also admitted to being quite an edgy teen and was definitely watching some horrible shit on fuckin idk albinoblacksheep or ebaumsworld or newgrounds because thats what teen boys did around that time. at the same time, i think its true dnp would never have played a game like omori or ddlc, but it IS kinda romanticizing or even infantilizing of mental illness to assume that because dan came out about his depression, that means he cant interact with any media that involves it. imo, dnp wouldn't have played those games because they are such a different tone to every game theyve ever played on the channel. i mean sure, during spooky week theyre playing bloody jumpy horror games for the sake of it being bloody jumpy horror. but in terms of a game that has that level of emotional darkness, the only one that i can think of that they played that even comes CLOSE is undertale. like rather than them not playing ddlc being about idk, triggering for them, i think it was more about like, they just wouldnt play something like that on the gaming channel because it's not the vibe they are going for, and maybe even more about being responsible with their audience because theres such triggering topics.

Hey! Monikanon (the one playing Monika, Sayori, Natsuki, and Yuri) speaking. Due to the recent ask, I’d say it’s clarification time. Flowey appears to have not actually played Doki Doki Literature Club. The game came out after his did, so it’s possible the game doesn’t even exist at all in his world. (In my take on DDLC, no games that were released after DDLC exist in this world either. So, for example, Monika didn’t recognize Kris/Kara (the-white-soul) when they showed up, since Deltarune came out after DDLC.)

From the interactions he had when this all began, Flowey really seems to only know the girls in context to this crossover, so he doesn’t seem them the way we do. He never played Doki Doki Literature Club. He just met Monika, then was brought to this world and met Sayori, then met the rest when he visited the clubroom itself. Seeing his analysis of the others, that should be somewhat clear (didn’t know Sayori ever had depression, or Yuri’s, well…)

(Though maybe Nat’s reasoning for Flowey not instantly recognizing Monika when she first showed up in the main blog despite having seen everything wasn’t that DDLC came out afterwards and therefore couldn’t exist? Maybe Nat based things off of Deltarune where games have different counterparts, like how we have Jack and the Tomatostalk? Maybe there’s this strange meta game called “Heart Heart Reading Group” or something similar. Or it could be both at the same time, real games aren’t in his world, and DDLC doesn’t even have a counterpart because it came after his game. Only Nat knows for sure. Well, that’s it for me. When you see this, maybe there’ll be more Nat (the one running the blog as Flowey) has to say below. Or not.

(My reasoning for Flowey not knowing anything about the DDLC world is exactly what the last paragraph says! The game came out after, so it wouldn't be possible for it to show up in the undertale world, but even if it did exist, it would be some bootleg version. So that's why I couldn't answer the question asking who is "best girl" on the main blog, since he didn't know much about anyone yet, and didn't even know Yuri and Natsuki existed. He wouldn't be able to respond very accurately even to his own opinion since he didnt have much opinion to go off of in the first place.

Friday Night Funkin': Indie Cross- Info for Upcoming Updates + Speculations

So, this is a compilation of Upcoming Information and some speculations that I have. Some of these I know off the top of my head, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but most of this info was grabbed from the Wiki and the interview Brightfyre (new director) did.

Brightfyre and DAGames are the director and co-director, respectively, so most info will come from them.

Most of this is regarding the weeks and bonus songs. Please note that information for unused/cut content and animations are not in here. This page will be updated as we get new info.

Confirmed Info

So, if you've been keeping up, you probably know that the next upcoming update will feature the series Hollow Knight- particularly, the character Hornet. Personally, I haven't seen Hollow Knight (although I will eventually) so I can't say much, but you can read about them here.

There are also songs for Baldi, the Binding of Isaac and Celeste (against Baldi, Isaac and Madeline respectively) found in the files of the Streamer build. Brightfyre has stated that they would be full weeks, and would just have them as bonus songs, similarly to what we have with characters like The Devil or Sammy.

The main weeks aren't complete, though, as Brightfyre stated for each update they aim to have one week, and a bunch of bonus songs.

Speaking of bonus songs, on the wiki page for Indie Cross it's been confirmed that King Dice will be one of the next bonus opponents!

Also, Cuphead and the Ink Demon are getting new and improved vocals! Chromatics aren't released yet, but they've been featured in the Mike Geno song "Crossed Out."

Confirmed Lore

So, as Moro was taken off the Indie Cross team, and most of the lore was his personal headcanons, they're basically rewriting the background story for Indie Cross.

What we do know, however, is that the weird figure seen in the intro cutscene is Nightmare Girlfriend, confirmed by Brightfyre, but there's not much to say as to why in the current story.

And while it's not really lore, and more of a backstory for the creation of Indie Cross itself, the whole mod is inspired by Brothers in Arms by DAGames.

Personal Speculations

Okay, everyone leave now, it's time for me to just make my own stupid personal inputs as to what I think is gonna happen.

As everyone knows, Shovel Knight and FNAF are both seen in the intro cutscene, and it seems as if they might be getting their own weeks, too? So there's a high chance of at least them being a bonus song, at most being their own week.

I think that games such as DDLC are absolutely NOT going to be in Indie Cross, likely because it already has its own major mod- Doki Doki Takeover- and it wouldn't fit the overall feeling that Indie Cross has.

I feel like it's possible for every current week to get a new bonus song in the next update- there's just so many options.

I personally believe that with every week, there will be a Nightmare song for that character. I doubt this will happen with bonus characters such as the Untitled Goose Game goose, because that is way too much power for anyone to deal with.

I think in terms of bonus songs, my best candidate for other Cuphead opponents would be Mrs. Chalice. We fought Cuphead, so why not her? Mugman couldn't find her in Knockout, according to what some dialogue I remember hearing said, so maybe not?

I would love for there to be a song with Chef Saltbaker, but since the DLC came out only a couple weeks ago it's probably not happening for another couple of updates.

For Undertale, I'm not entirely certain? Mettaton was GOING to have a Bonus song, but that was scrapped, yet there's still a chance he'll have a different song. It makes the most sense, too, considering in canon he would definitely challenge you to a rap battle.

The chance of Chara is low, but never zero. They've been done in FNF mods a lot, and according to the wiki they are barely visible over the locked symbol of the Bonus Week. There could be a Chara VS BF song that takes place during Burning in Hell, maybe.

And Deltarune also has a chance, but considering it's a different game they might not do a Deltarune bonus song. We already have a Deltarune mod in the form of Seek's Cool Deltarune Mod, though, so maybe not.

Finally, for BATIM, I'd say that Susie Campbell / "Alice Angel" is a pretty obvious choice. Most of the characters can't speak or communicate anymore, some of the ones which DO don't have a canon design and they wouldn't want to start a fandom argument or discourse, meaning that the only candidates left are essentially Allison, Tom, and Susie.

I doubt the first two would sing against us, and also, Susie is literally a voice actor/singer. There is no way that Boyfriend wouldn't challenge her to a rap battle.

So, for now, that's everything I have to say. Go ahead and correct me and/or tell me what your theories are for Indie Cross, because I love this mod too much to shut up about it.

UPDATE

Well, while Moro isn't working on any official Indie Cross content, if you skip past the first three (which are, of course, amazing and I can't WAIT for them, this looks so cool!) and look to the fourth one...

Well, this character looks familiar.

So, yes, it looks like Shovel Knight is confirmed to be getting at least an appearance, at most his own week! I can't quite make out what the text at the top says, it's very difficult to make out especially in the Indie Cross Nightmare font, so maybe I'll try to figure it out another day.
