I really want to one day make a typical otome game and spend a good amount of time advertising it. All the romance interests are clearly laid out. I'll release demos and character sheets. I'll make sure everyone knows the characters very well and which one they want to go for, so when the game comes out, everyone will know what to expect. And for the most part, everything does follow their expectations. Once you know what to do, getting the love interests to fall is easy. That is, all until they get to a certain route.

It first starts off weird when they don't appear where the guide says they're supposed to. After a few reloads, you finally find them on the complete opposite side of the map. But... there seems to be something off about them. They're not smiling like how they did in all the advertisements. And when you try to appeal to them, they react in disgust.

You try to follow up with them, but they're never in their favorite places. You find out in a rude awakening that they hate the gifts the game guide promotes. The more you try to capture their heart in the way you should, the more they come to hate you.

Eventually you get the bad ending, so you try your hand at him again. You begin utilizing the quick save/quick load option more and more. You make sure he responds well to every interaction you have with him. And at first, it works great. But slowly, things begin to change. He begins to avoid you. He regards you with suspicious eyes. In the end, you get a bad ending once more.

You try again and again with different combinations, but no matter how much you try, you can't get the good ending. Eventually you get fed up and decide to throw caution to the wind. You decide not to follow any otome logic anymore and decide to respond to his interactions how you would in normal life. And without even realizing it,

You get the good end.

Sakusa doesn't want to keep count but in the 1 and a half hours you’d been in his room watching a movie, you laughed 4 times through your nose and looked at him to check if he was laughing too. He’s not.

Instead, he purses his lips in amusement, stifling his laughter, mentally chuckling at how you tend to furrow your brows and sink into your body whenever you get flustered. He also knows this to be a result of you realizing that he’d been too busy staring at you to even pay attention to the movie.

“What?” you ask, raising an eyebrow in confusion.

Sakusa shakes his head. “Nothing, keep watching."

The film ends and silence ensues. As per usual, he never feels the need to fill the silence, not in the slightest. But sometimes he wonders if he should. Sometimes he wonders if you at least wanted noise to fill these quiet gaps in your relationship.

Though you spend most of your days like this - basking in his warmth within the peaceful confines of his room, lolling in the quiet, your head laid on his lap as you fiddle through your phone.

He never once heard you complain about it even though he occasionally felt like he’s probably the most boring person you’d ever met. Do you ever get tired of this? Of him?

He’s deathly afraid of the answer even though it’s probably not as bad as he thinks.

In his musing, he began to stroke your hair. Your questioning eyes dart to his preoccupied ones.

“Omi? ‘s there something wrong?” You ask, snapping him out of his daze.

He could very well just tell you how pretty you look on his lap and save your little talk for later. It’s the truth, after all. But even so, there isn’t really any merit in delaying it. The worst it could do is rattle your peaceful cage and you’d go bolting through the door as fast as you can, never speaking another word to him. No big deal. Though he knows it’s ridiculous.

“Are you okay with this?” he breathes out, running the back of his fingers along your temple down to your cheek.

“With what?” your eyes glinting with curiosity as you entangle your fingers with his.

“This.” He gestures to the room with his free hand. “It’s always been like this with me, hasn’t it? It doesn’t get any more boring than this.”

He waits for you to snap, hit him with your worst, but it doesn’t happen. Instead, you’re looking back at him as if he’s the silliest guy in the world.

“Yes, Omi. It doesn’t get any better than this.”

He only needed to hear it from you the one time. That’s how much he trusted you.

“I love you.”

Your eyes widen in shock. He didn’t mean to catch you off guard like that, but the moment felt right. And to be frank, he doesn’t need an answer from you but one would be ideal—

“I love you, too.”

the company i work for decided that its switching from the german formal "You"(Sie) to the informal "you" (Du) in all of our websites so now we have to scour the entire database to change it and i quite frankly hate that, not just bc the unecessary extra work but especially bc its such a weird and unecessary change

i bet its bc everything here is getting englishfied (both literally and culturally it feels like, when my new boss talks its half in english bc every second german word is just replaced by an english one despite there being perfectly fine words for it in german too, its so annoying) and bc they want to sound more personal in hopes of getting more clients bc 'company is your fwiend uwu!!', i know this here is the amercian tm site so you wouldnt understand really but i do not want to be greeted with 'du' by companies, no, thats too personal, you dont know me and im not giving you my data, stay away!!

i guess thats how i would describe it .. the formal you is like a polite distance, like someone you dont know staying outside your personal space, but when its the informal 'you' it feels invasive unless i told you you can call me that, and that goes double for companies
