what if clover remembered their neutral routes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Images: A 7-panel comic featuring Clover and Martlet (from Undertale Yellow), taking place on the apartment complex's rooftop. The two are silhouetted by ominous lighting throughout.
Panel 1: The two are seen from the side and are facing each other, with Clover on the left of the frame and Martlet on the right. The image is animated to show wind lightly blowing their hair, feathers, and clothes. Martlet says, "You've gone through so much more than any child should." "And I think you can change for the better." "You can come stay with me and live a happy, violence-free childhood..."
Panel 2: Martlet is now drawn from Clover's perspective, from the front. Her eyes are visible now, and an animated gust of wind blows some golden flower petals behind her. She says, "What do you say, Clover?"
Panel 3: Clover from the front; they're looking away from the viewer mournfully, and no facial features are visible. The background is animated, and changes rapidly between TV static, many red silhouettes of Martlet being impaled by thorny vines, and the outline of a giant Flowey with a creepy smile.
Panel 4: Return to the side perspective. Clover runs towards Martlet with outstretched arms. Martlet says, "...?" "Clover, what are you..."
Panel 5: Clover is now hugging Martlet. The now-empty space on the left shows a conversation between the two. Clover says, "Please don't leave me again." Martlet says, "Huh?" "Clover, you know last time was a mistake!" "We don't have to go on the raft again if you don't want to." Clover says, "I just want both of us to be happy." Martlet says, "So do I."
Panel 6: Martlet is walking away to the left. Clover drops to the ground, facing away from Martlet and looking devastated with their hands on the floor. Martlet says, "Come on, Clover. Let's go to Snowdin."
Panel 7: An animated gif; the background turns into TV static, and a thorny vine comes in quickly from the right as the image fades to white. After this, Martlet's limp silhouette is visible, impaled by the vine. Clover is still on the ground, looking away. Martlet turns into dust, leaving the vine empty. end id!

Does Lv reset along with everything else? I’d assume it does given the fact Undyne is low Lv despite having creamed frisk a bunch of times. If so how does knowing they killed/were killed by a friend/ally effect their mental health? Given how sadistic Flowey could be I’m surprised more characters aren’t having regular ptsd attacks? Are the rest memories more “distant” feeling then regular ones, or are the characters brains still pseudo repressing all the bad stuff?
The memories from other timelines are always more distant, and most of them actively choose not to dig too deeply into the worst of it. But if they ever found themselves in a situation similar enough to a traumatizing instant from the past timelines, they could subconsciously sense something was off. It might even lead to panic if the triggering situation is strong enough. I imagine being tangled in thorny vines might set off most of them.

Have you done everything you needed to do? Talked to everyone you could? Satisfied with your actions and ready to be judged for them...?
...
Stay determined, human, for you are now entering New Home, arranged to marry the king.
Tumblr media
Which doesn't really seem so bad, though you probably would rather him be your dad than your daddy...
He doesn't really want to sleep with you either. He just needs to produce a half-human heir in case Monster Kid fails to shatter the barrier.
Or so he thinks. Regardless of the outcome of the battle, Rosey reveals himself to Asgore, saying that he might be able to work together with the human to pass through the barrier, and if they're successful, the two can find a peaceful, yet effective way to destroy it.
Hah...
Haha...
HAH!
Do you really think you can get out that easily?
Just when you're about to leave the Underground, Posey sneaks up and pierces through your bag with thorny vines, grabbing your flower friend and pulling him over to deal the killing blow. Posey absorbs all the pieces of Rosey's soul and traps you in a room in between. There's no way out. You're... autosaved in here?
You have no choice but to fight Posey and free Rosey from his control before he takes YOUR soul as well. And it won't be easy, either; Posey is DETERMINED to complete his mission.
Tumblr media
The new form Posey takes, due to being comprised of a monster soul and just enough fragments to form half of a human soul, is nowhere near as powerful, as say, Flowey during his bossfight in Undertale, but it's still a tougher fight than any monsters you've faced before Back then, it was just them making a display for courtship, but rest assured, Posey is NOT messing around. He lacks the ability to create his own SAVE file, but he can at least cause issues with yours, altering your stats and saving at a time that's not very convenient for you (such as when you're at low HP).
Fortunately, so can Rosey. During the soul segments of the fight, he'll gradually gain more control over this form, healing you along the way and keeping Posey from going back to when you were hurt. Eventually, Rosey gains full control and separates the two flowers, allowing you to finally leave the room, and the Underground as a whole.

Flowey: You don't care about your own kid! Toriel did! I did! If anyone is listening right now, that should make sense. I bet a blind person could make the most rational decision here if that means they can't tell who's human or monster.
You're calling them dumb them nonstop, saying and acting like you don't even care, degrading monsterkind which had the only people who actually showed them love. What kind of a living being are you? Is everyone insane here?! I showed you proof and yet you still think we were bad to them! Why would they trust us so much when they ran away from you, their "family," to kill themselves, only to fail and kill themselves again for our sake!
*He's providing so much good reasoning, but this woman remains full of so much hate and ignorance. What's the point in trying to be nice if this is what he'll get? Almost no one else is even trying to speak up (Thanks, John) which gives thim the impression either no one cares and they're all with Chara's mom, or they're too scared to say anything. Either way, that means there's no reason for him to not lash out.*
What the fuck did you do to Chara?!
*Vines suddenly grab and whip the crazy mother, and even worse than the way the police beat Toriel, Flowey begins to snap bones and slash deep cuts without a moment of rest. He wraps a vine around her head, adding increasing pressure until it would explode like a watermelon. The whole time he forms a tall, thorny circle around them that would push away anyone who got close, preventing anyone from interfering and shielding the eyes of children and cameras. Once she is killed, he drags the body under the dirt and lets down the makeshift barrier. He looks angry and slightly teary-eyed. He mutters to himself.* ... I bet Chara felt way more pain than that.
All the others flee far, knowing what they're up against. (Kara) "Wow, that was fantastic." Papyrus had his mouth wide open. (Dess) "Why didn't you tell me about his power? Yeah, I know they stopped Clover, but an entire field of people. Speaking of fields, I should tell you something important. The Flowey in this world isn't Asriel. I don't know who it is. No one besides Frisk does." (Kara) "Well, let's meet this Flowey. John, you're coming too." (John) "Well, I guess the humans would kill me in an instant. I'll go." We all started 'walking'(Flowey just digs) to their home. (Kara) "Hey, speaking of which, what did make you want to be a good person.' (John) "I was one of Chara's classmates and… There was a brief pause as John looked to Flowey I'm not going to say what happened unless Flowey wants to know. Long story short, it made some of us very angry. Thank god she's dead now." Flowey popped out of the ground (Flowey) "Hi everyone." (Kara) "Um, hi. Why do you…" (Dess) "KARA GET DOWN!!!" A barrage of bullets comes Kara's way, which they dodge. (Flowey) "What's wrong? You must've learned already. I see you have a little flower friend yourself. Hi Buttercup, you have a fire inside you. I'm glad at least that never changed. So cat's out of the bag, I'm not just Flowey." (Kara) "Well, what's your name?" (Flowey) "I've been called many things in my day, a demon to some, a savior to others, but to you, buttercup Shows heart locket I'm your best friend forever!!!" (Kara) "Chara." (Chara Flowey) "Yep, that's me." (Kara) "This is great. I can bring you to the humans. I'll have…" (Chara Flowey) "You think they would care? You and I both saw what happened back there. Plus, it's funny." (Dess) "FUNNY?!" (Chara Flowey) "You don't realize how hilarious this is? People are as blind as a bat. I can't believe it sometimes. Humanity always surprises me." (Kara) "I know, but it's worth trying to see if humans agree." (Chara Flowey) "Started laughing in everyone's faces. You're being serious? Your pain is the most fun I've had in a while. Why would I give it up?" (Kara) "You are one of the worst Floweys I've ever met." (Chara Flowey) "I want to watch the world burn. =)."

UT POKÉMON TEAMS
...Omega Flowey 👁👄👁
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Malamar: This Pokémon forces others to do its bidding, much like how Flowey forces the SOULs to attack Frisk during his fight. It is a Pokémon associated with villains and is thought to be the blame behind many horrible, history-changing events. This Pokémon evolves from Inkay, a Pokémon on Chara's team, symbolizing Flowey's connection to Chara and his secret desire to have them back. It also represents Flowey's evolution from a timid child to a manipulator.
2. Trevenant: An evolved form of Asriel's Phantump, it is a Pokémon formed by the soul of a dead child. When it evolves into Trevenant, its root system can control an entire forest. It traps people in forests so they can never leave, the same way Flowey traps Frisk in a loop of torture. Other creatures can live in its body the way the human SOULs inhabit Flowey's body.
3. Ferrothron: This steel and grass type Pokémon looks like the thorny bits of Omega Flowey's body. It is also said to live in caves and caverns. The dual steel and grass typing is a perfect match to Omega Flowey's mis-mashed, eldritch horror form that pulls from organic matter like plants and animals and inorganic matter like a television and wires.
4. Tyranitar: Its name comes from the word "Tyrant". Tyranitar devours whole mountains and can level them in an instant. It is a Pokémon inspired by kaiju, giant Japanese monsters sometimes created through large amounts of nuclear radiation (a nod to the atomic bombs Flowey drops). It is said to have an impudent and insolent nature, so it doesn't care about others. Its body is also supposed to be impervious to physical attacks, like Omega Flowey. It wanders through mountains seeking opponents to fight.
5. Drifblim: Drifblim evolves from Drifloon, a balloon-like Pokémon that appears harmless but can steal away children and take their souls. Drifblim itself is known for its ability, "Aftermath," which causes a huge explosion (another reference to Omega Flowey's fire and bomb based attacks). According to its Pokédex entry, "The raw material for the gas inside its body is souls."/"Some say this Pokémon is a collection of souls burdened with regrets."
6. Coragrigus: This Pokémon looks like a ghost possessing a coffin. It evolves from Yamask, a Pokémon that used to be a human and misses its human life. Cofagrigus steals souls and traps people and Pokémon in its body, wrapping then up and mummifying them to keep them trapped forever. A comparison can be made to Flowey's vines, wrapping people up and keeping them trapped. Like Omega Flowey, this Pokémon possesses several human-like limbs. According to its Pokédex entry: "People say it no longer remembers that it was once human."
As for Omega Flowey's Legendary and Mythical... I chose Necrozma and Spiritomb.
Tumblr media
Necrozma: Necrozma steals all light and causes the death of stars; it said to sleep underground. It takes over other Pokémon to steal their light/energy, the way Flowey takes over and uses the human SOULs for power. It is also a nod to the Legendary associated with Asriel, Cosmog. In the Pokémon franchise, Necrozma is the enemy of Cosmog and its evolved forms, Lunala and Solgaleo, stealing their light and taking over their bodies. It's a representation of Flowey's new identity replacing Asriel, and the change he's gone through as a person since he came back as a flower.
Spiritomb: Spiritomb is a Pokémon formed by multiple souls trapped in a Keystone. It is unclear whether every soul in Spiritomb is evil, or just a few. In the Japanese legend that inspired this Pokémon, 108 demons are released from a stone and wreck havoc on the world before they atone for their sins and become the 108 stars. This is an allusion to Flowey's battle, during which the corrupted SOULs become good and begin helping Frisk.

What does the thron part mean? Only followed you recently so no idea.
Ah that's okay!
Thorn in ThornFell, it was only recently renamed as I used to call it AF which is short for ApocalypticFell. It was gonna originally be like a waste land type of thing, I only had designs for Sans made and a sketch of Papyrus,Flowey, and Toriel then never touched it again until recently. Finished Papyrus's design and Rosie's which is the Flowey in this Au.
The whole Thorn part is for the Sharp and Angstiness of the Au, Sans in this Au is long gone, left via universe hopping to leave his horrible brother, and buttercups are replaced with roses and sharp thorny vines. Lots of angst and horrible things happen in this universe, it is angst central! Fun to play around with the concept tho.
But yes original was going to be a waste land and the brothers were going to be good brothers. I had this whole idea planned but it wasn't much so I scrapped it and made it what it is now, not all characters have designs yet but they do have their own lore and etc.
Fun fact I actually got bored years ago and made ThornLust, Thorntale, and Thornswap designs for two sanses and a papyrus. Of course it was only for fun, and by now they are really old and crunchy- ew.

Laughter and exchanging of words filled the bedroom as the younglings were chatting up a storm. It’s not often that they would have a pleasant conversation like this, even though they met every school day at the cafeteria.
It was a shame that Hope and Faith couldn’t come—Frisk would’ve loved to have them here. It didn’t quite feel complete without them as they were the only ones missing in their circle of close friends (and family). Oh well. At least Arcadia was here, and even Floreska looked happy being cradled in Frisk’s arms!
“She’s so adorable,” Frisk whispered. They tickled her cheeks which obviously caused her to giggle.
Arcadia, being seated down next to Frisk, was leaning closer to see just how cute the toddler was acting. She looked at Frisk and asked, “So who’s her mother? I know Flowey is the dad and I’ve seen him here, but I haven’t seen any other Boss Monster here. Is she like someplace else?”
That question stumped Frisk. They never actually bothered to ask anyone that; they just accepted the addition of Floreska to the family without question. Who was her mother?
“I don’t actually know.” Frisk looked away from the baby—as hard as it was to avoid her cuteness—and they glanced at each and every one of them, figuring out who was best to ask first. They eventually locked eyes with Asriel. He spent the most time with him; surely he must know, right?
But before they could ask their question, the parent himself, Flowey, entered. Perfect! Now they could get a straight answer.
“Flowey!” they called with a smile. “I have a quest–” They cut themselves off when the Boss Monster marched through the room toward Asriel. They gasped when he proceeded to forcefully grab him by the collar and lifted him up from his bed to his eye level.
“What do you want, Flowey? Is it getting too late for you that you’re starting to get cranky?” asked Asriel with a snarl.
“I know you gave me that. If you expected me to be happy, then you’re dead wrong.”
Asrie tightened his grip on Flowey’s arms as he did the same to his sweater. “What the hell are talking about? I didn’t give you anything!”
“Really now? You didn’t give me that SOUL?” Flowey pulled him closer. “I know how much you love the idea of me with a soul. So why wouldn’t you get that pathetic scientist to make an Artificial SOUL for me?”
Asriel teleported behind Flowey, but the tail of the livid monster wrapped around and pulled his leg as if he knew his next move. This caused him to trip and fall forward, landing on his face. He couldn’t react on time, and that cost his nose on his small snout to start bleeding.
Everyone else was shocked at this exchange—everyone but Chara was afraid. She was furious more than anything to see her brother get hurt like this, and for absolutely no reason.
Seeing him conjure a blade, she called him with solemn voice: “Flowey. Stop this.” As he stopped to look at her, she took a deep breath and sighed. “I had the idea of giving you a SOUL, not Asriel.”
Frisk, now standing up, stayed as she watched Arcadia carry Floreska with the twins cautiously leave the room alongside her. Flowey didn’t seem to intend on hurting them as they managed to slip by him unscathed.
Flowey stared at Chara. His hand that was wielding the magic-based sword was shaking a little, and his breathing turned a little funny. “W… why?” He asked. “In what world do you think that that would be a wonderful idea?”
“Look, I’m not well-versed with your needs and desires, but I am certain that you’d be happier with a SOUL. Think about it: would you rather be forever soulless and having to rely on chocolate shakes for the rest of your life?” Chara wiped the viscous black liquid from her rosy cheeks.
Flowey continued to stare into Chara’s eyes. His grip on the swords handle tightened, and his face represented mixed feelings.
Asriel had sat up a moment ago, and he was now leaning against the wall. He rubbed his snout and wiped the small bit of blood, getting more on the sleeve of his sweater. A small, weak fireball rested on his left hand while he glared up at the other Boss Monster. He didn’t throw it just yet, but his arm tensed up in preparation.
“Y-you…” A crazed smile on Flowey’s face as he laughed for a moment. “You really are an idiot, aren’t you?” He then gritted his teeth, a few tears running down his furry cheeks. “And I thought I was stupid, Chara.”
Frisk’s eyes opened widely as they saw Flowey preparing a swing. The could their chest pounding even more as their SOUL began beating along with their heart. Time had slowed down for them, a mystical sensation that they hadn’t felt in a long time. But even then, they were also affected by this. They would appear to move normally for everyone else, and this only gave them more time to react.
Taking a step, their physical body faded away as their bright red SOUL took their place. The floating heart zipped toward in front of Chara, and their body reappeared. They immediately pushed the taller human back with a single hand, causing her to stumble back but managing to keep her balance.
Frisk took in a sharp gasp and their eyelids opened up to look at Flowey with their red eyes–as red as the blood that stained the blade and their clothing.
Flowey, who looked intent on murdering Chara and Asriel, now looked confused and regretful. He let go of the sword’s handle, the blade staying with Frisk as it was lodged too deeply in their right shoulder. The magical weapon vanished seconds later, but that only caused more blood to pour out of their large wound.
“Frisk!” yelled Chara and Asriel in unison as the severely injured human collapsed to the side and slid down the wall, spreading the crimson substance along the surface. The Boss Monster scrambled toward them, a green glow taking the place of the fire on his hand.
Frisk’s vision was already blurry at this point, and they could only make out the silhouette of their siblings on either side. They coughed violently, blood beginning to pour out of the corners of their mouth. It stung so much, yet it felt numb at the same time. Their breathing was shallow, and they could barely take in enough air. The familiar voices around them became indistinguishable as they were clouded by the ringing in their ears. Darkness crept up around their vision, and it was only a matter of time before it consumed their entire vision.
They could no longer feel a thing.

Jevil's weapon is for Susie and Spamton's weapon is for Ralsei so going by the pattern then the next secret boss will has a weapon for Kris which is likely to be a sword of some sorts like if the boss is based on trash flowers, then it'd be like a thorny sword similar to Omega Flowey's vines in a way
Tumblr media
A heavy sword with metal thorns fused to the blade. Cumbersome, but least the handle is smooth...

The more they get into resets, the more flowey doesn’t want to be aPOT of this, I mean, I underSTEMd his situation, BUD still.
He really wanted to find the root of this mystery and got the conversation growing his way, but he’s leafing himself open for thorny questions of his own. He better be careful with how he proseeds in the future, or he’s gonna have... a bad vine.

The Breaking Point Finale (Chpt. 22)
My Undertale boneblossom/nyehctar fanfic, “The Breaking Point” has finally concluded! Reset: Welcome to the Underground: Chapter 5
As the next two days went by, Frisk started getting worried. Don't get her wrong, she loved the time that she spent with Tori. But she was starting to worry that she might never make it out of this mountain. She HAD to keep going. But she couldn't bear the thought of leaving not only Toriel, but also the other sweet monsters that were trapped down here.
As she tried to come up with a strategy plan for her escape, she passed by the living room window and something caught her eyes. It was that strange glowing yellow star. It was just there, floating right outside the window. She went outside and stood right in front of it. An idea popped in her head and started to rub her chin thoughtfully. She then decided to test this little idea of hers through via a second witness. "Toriel! Can you come here for a minute?"
Toriel was just finished making a nice and warm dinner for her and Frisk when the young adult called for her. Tori wondered what was wrong. She hoped it wasn't a monster coming to pick a fight with her. As she walked outside to where Frisk was she asked, "What's wrong dear? Is there something or someone bothering you?"
Frisk turned to Tori and shook her head slightly in a "no" nod. Then decided to put her idea into action. "Tori? Can you look to where I'm looking right now and tell me what you see?" Toriel looked confused at her for a minute but obliged to her request. She looked over to where Frisk was looking at but saw nothing there. Just old fallen red leaves from her old maple tree. "Do you see anything Tori? And tell me the truth, even if it's weird." Toriel looked even more confused if that was even possible, and said, "Dear there is nothing there. I maybe see a few old tree leaves. But that's it. Nothing out of the ordinary. Well ordinary as it goes down here, but you know what I mean." Now it was Frisk's turn to look confused and even a little frustrated and disappointed. How can she not see it?! It's RIGHT there!!! Glowing as bright as a lighthouse beacon!
Toriel noticed the expressions on Frisk's face and sighed. "Well, anyways. It is time for dinner. Come back inside and wash up. I'll call you when dinner has cooled down a little." After Tori left Frisk couldn't help but glare in frustration at the little star.
Suddenly a familiar and unwelcome voice piped in from behind her. "You know, staring at it won't get you anywhere except for a few awkward stares from other monsters and maybe a headache. Well, depending how long you stare at it without blinking. Idiot."
Frisk immediately turned around behind her. And low and behold, there was the one and only Flowey. He smiled at her with a snarky smile with one "eyebrow" raised in amusement.
"W-what are you doing here?!" Frisk quickly and frantically asked while she backed up a step with caution. "You do realize that we're in front of Tori's house right?! I don't think you want to be a fire roasted weed." Frisk hissed in defense, getting ready to call Tori at any second.
Flowey's raised brow twitched in irritation and his amused smile tensed up at the all-to- familiar nickname that a certain lazy skeletal figure had come to call him by. "Okay, listen up brat," he started with his own defensive time. "First off, don't call me "Weed". Secondly, I just came by to give you a heads-up on what's going to happen VE~RY soon." He said the last part very mysterious and evilly.
Frisk flinched when she heard his all too creepy tone of voice and said, "Okay? Yeah? Well… first off, don't call me a brat! I'm eighteen! A legal adult by human standards. I don't know how it goes for you monsters down here with your age system, but technically I'm a woman and a lady and should be treated as such!"
Frisk breathed in and then out to calm her nerves. She hated when she was being looked down on just because of how young she looked and the fact that she was an orphan. And that she honestly preferred monsters and myths over humans and reality. So whenever someone made a comment about the way she looked or what her tastes were in terms of her hobbies, she got really mad and defensive. And if she didn't tolerate that from above with her kind, she as heck wasn't going to let some prick-like monsters push her around just because of what she is.
"Secondly," she started again, "what do you mean by that?" She asked warily. Flowey smiled manically and explained that those stars, that she now sees, are called 'Save Points'. And that, while she's stuck down here, Everytime she "dies" and "resets", she ends up back in time to where she "saved" at the star.
Frisk couldn't help but make her more previous thought known to the evil looking flower. "What is this, a video game? Because this sounds too much like one." Flowey didn't respond and looked away from her in a way that said, "Yeah-----😑, pretty much."
Frisk, not wanting to tempt Fate with her devilish tricks with reality, stupidly asked, "How can I know for sure that what you're saying is true?" Flowery then smiled smugly. "Well why don't you touch it and see what happens, huh~?"
Frisk wasn't sure at first but proceeded to reach out to the star and touch it. And right there and then an all too familiar screen popped up before her. "DO YOU WANT TO SAVE? YES OR NO." Frisk gulped and pressed for the "YES" option. Suddenly the star glowed a bright yellow and then turned full yellow. "Okay? What happens ne---". She was cut off short when her Soul was pierced by one of Flowey's thorny vines. "What happens next, is that you die!!!" As her Soul shattered and her vision was being consumed by the darkness, she could hear Flowey's loud maniacal laughter and Frisk could faintly hear Toriel's worried voice calling her name.
When Frisk woke up, she was in the void again. But instead of hearing the unknown male's voice encouraging her to keep going, she heard a different and all too familiar voice instead. "Well, that was stupid." The voice said bluntly and driely. "Did you seriously JUST walk into that, that easily? How can someone be outsmarted by a FLOWER of all things? I swear, you're too much like him sometimes…" The feminine voice said the last part like whoever she was talking about, she dearly missed.
But before Frisk could ask her a question she started first, "O-KAY, so. Let's get down to business. I would first like to introduce myself. My name is Chara and I am currently one of many occupants that resides here in the "Void". Secondly, what I am exactly is that I'm a human ghost. I died a long time ago and how I died is none of your business. But what IS your business, is that, out of the seven Soul traits, you have the same Soul trait as mine was. Meaning..."
She trailed off for a minute in thought. But Frisk brought her out of her thoughts. "Meaning…? And also, do you mind if you show yourself? It makes it easier to talk to someone instead of talking to an empty void."
Chara giggled at this. "Meaning that you're the last element of the Soul traits that can release the monsters from underground. And it's my job to make sure that you make it out of the underground alive. And sure, give me a second."
Slowly a figure of a young girl that looked almost like Frisk appeared before her. Only this girl was paler in comparison to Frisk's tan skin. And the girl's hair was more of a Chocolate brown than a dirty brown like Frisk's. And Frisk couldn't help but note that Chara had amber brown eyes but they were such a deep shade that they almost looked red. And with a small mischievous smile, Chara asked, "Like what you see~?" She giggled as Frisk's face went red with embarrassment from staring at her for too long.
Chara then went back to the matter at hand, "Anyways, we need to talk about a few things before you can continue and that the old man can give you one of his encouraging pep talks." Right then and there, Frisk could've sworn that she heard someone grumble in the darkness. Chara apparently heard this as well and just rolled her eyes in a "whatever" manner.
"Okay Frisk, the first thing that we need to talk about is that we STAY AWAY from the talking flower. All he wants is your Soul. The reason we shatter your Soul like that 💔, is too prevent monsters or anything else from getting their grubby hands on it."
"But why do the monsters want my Soul so badly? I mean, I know Souls are powerful, but I don't see why they need mine so bad. Why is mine so special? Is there something you're not telling me?"
Chara sighed. "I was getting to that Frisk. Like I said before, your Soul is the last one they need in order to be released from their prison. And before you say anything, it's because the spell that our ancestors put on the mountain has one weakness. Using seven Souls to seal the monsters away the same can be said vice versa." Chara looked at Frisk skeptically. "I can assume that you know the story of our ancestors and the war they waged on the monsters?" Frisk frantically shook her head up and down. "Most of Ebott has remembered the story. But it's been so long, that it's turned to what it is. A story. To scare children no less. But I've always felt sympathy for the monsters of the mountain. I always wanted to help them in some way or another, but even after years of research, I couldn't find anything. The others always made fun of me for believing in fairy tales, but I always tried to ignore them. If dying is what it takes to set them free. Then I wouldn't mind giving up my Soul for others who deserve freedom and a normal life." Frisk looked to her feet while smiling thoughtfully.
Chara on the other hand looked shocked, amazed, but yet angry. Shocked and amazed that she would give up her life for others in such an unselfish manner. But she was angry that this wonderful girl would give up her life so easily without batting an eyelash. Doesn't she have ANY hope for having a happy life above ground? What happened to her in order for her faith to shake so strongly? Chara's metaphorical blood boiled at the thought of her wretched kind harming a fellow monster lover like herself.
Chara reached out to Frisk, gently held her chin, and tilted it upwards where she can see Frisk's golden brown eyes. "Frisk, we understand your determination to free the monsters. We really do. It's what both of our Soul traits are made up of. But me and the old man are trying to figure out a way to free them without you sacrificing yourself. A while back, when the monsters were JUST sealed away, a prophecy was foretold. "An angel will fall from above and free us all." Thus the monsters Runic symbol was made to represent that prophecy. But what most of the monster population doesn't know is that the prophecy foretold that the angel will lead the monsters back above ground and become the symbol between humans and monsters. An ambassador of sorts. So that means, whatever happens to you, won't be pretty. But, we promise that you'll make it out of this alive. We're working on a theory as we speak but we're not entirely sure if it's full-proof yet if you're still in the Ruins."
Frisk looked shocked at the fact that the prophecy was possibly talking about her. Ambassador? Really? Her? But if Chara was telling the truth, then that would explain the weird symbol above the doorways and on Tori's robe.
But now she was determined more than ever to try to make it out of the Ruins. She was about to say something, but Chara interrupted her before she could get a word in. "I know you're trying to come up with a plan of escape now but you need to keep in mind of something. Toriel has lost a lot of important people in her life. More than a mother and wife should go through. There might be a possibility that she won't let you go. Even if you ask her nicely, there might not be a good ending for you. You might even end up here a few more times because of her. And before you even ask, nobody will remember that you died or that you reset. Very few actually remember. One of them being that flower. He's more than he appears to be. So you need to watch your back from now on. So are you up for the challenge?" Chara questioned.
Frisk was hesitant at first, but Determination filled her Soul. So, with her golden brown eyes full of hard emotion, she nodded in approval. Chara smiled a soft smile. She held out her hand for Frisk to take and said, "Nice to know you agree, partner." As Frisk took Chara's hand to shake. And as soon as she did, the option window came up behind her. Frisk looked behind her and used her other hand to press, 'Continue'.
Before she even knew it, a blinding light overtook her and she was back in front of Tori's house.
She looked around frantically for the offending talking flower. But he was nowhere to be seen. Which, was, in hindsight, a relief for Frisk. But she had another problem. Toriel.
"How am I going to break it to her? I doubt she'll let me leave so easily. What do I do?!"
Just then Toriel called out for Frisk to come inside for dinner. "Oh, well. I'll figure it out as I go." She thought to herself. Basically, she was going to wing it.
And wing it she did. (If you've ever played this game then you probably already know that she epically failed at least a dozen times).
Now facing off with Toriel once again at the entrance to the rest of the underground, she just about had it with her and was going to FIGHT her. But then she thought better of it. She took a deep breath and remained calm. She kept hitting the MERCY option. Which in turn, made Toriel so emotional that she purposely kept missing her with her fireballs. Until finally, she gave up.
Frisk saw her crying and went up to her and gave her a hearty hug. Toriel looked shocked at first but then melted into the hug and gave an affectionate kiss on top of her dark brown hair. "Even though we've only known each other for a short amount of time, it feels as if you're one of my own flesh and blood child. I love you Frisk. Never forget that. I'll be praying for your safety. And you can call me anytime you want. Just, don't forget me, okay?" Toriel whispered sweetly to her like a mother would.
Now it was Frisk's turn to start crying. After their ten minute goodbye Tori left to go back upstairs. Frisk took a deep breath and walked through the door. She kept walking down the corridors until she saw "him".
"Well it's about time you finally got here! I was starting to think that you actually might've stayed with that old hag." Flowey said in a cocky-like manner with a smug face. Frisk wanted to rip him apart right then and there but reframed from doing that and followed Chara's advice and stayed a good few feet from him. She put on her famous stoic face that she KNEW made others uncomfortable.😑
"... That's, uh, a pretty intimidating (?) face you're making there." Flowey said in an uncomfortable manner. "Well anyways, we both know that you can't keep up this PACIFIST charade for much longer. I mean, you're a human. Violence is in your nature. THAT I know for certain." As Flowey said this he looked a little solemn? Frisk was about to ask him about it, he cut her off before she could talk. "Anyways, you'll mess up sooner or later. And when you do, I'll be waiting~. It's only a matter of time~. See you later~..."
As he said this, he went back into the ground and was gone. Frisk relaxed her face and saw the last set of the huge double doors. "OKAY! Let's do this!!!" Frisk said as she pushed her way outside. But little did she know, that's when things were going to get REAL interesting.
To be continued...
