october once reminded her of a gentle lull in the cycle of nature’s endless frenzy — the cold blanket of rain drizzling down oak leaves, the earth growing moist and rich with scent. it’s maybe a bad attempt at mimicking the changing of leaves, that once led people to crowd their houses with splashes of orange and mismatched shades and call it halloween —— whatever it may be, in the inside it looks ugly. if it were up to her, pandemonium would see no trace of festivity — but her rule over the small kingdom is weak and irrelevant, and it’s the younger waiters, their gen-z crowd, their dimly lit selfies with cartonboard cutouts of jack’o’lanterns that set the mood. all that’s left to her is sitting in the corner, defeated, sipping an IPA that expired last week but she keeps in the back for rainy, halloween days. “ you ever get tired of that stuff ? ”. evelyn nods to the far left booth, where a group of girls barely twenty-one are amusing themselves twirling the fire from the candle in their hands. it changes shape around their fingers, now a ring, now a dragon: now it turns into a kinski-worth nosferatu and the girl makes her hands into claws, yells i vant to suck your bloood to her girlfriend. eve sighs, looks once towards astoria and begs her, silently, to join the pity party. “ they’re exhausting. i’m so tired. ”

What A Little Moonlight Can Do
Pairing: Evelyn/Celia
W/c: 600
Tumblr media
October 7, 1961
Evelyn got home late that evening. When she closed the door behind her, the sky was already pitch dark. All the lights were off in the apartment, and everything was silent.
She slipped off her shoes and tip-toed down the hallway, hoping not to wake Celia. She made her way to the bathroom and snuck in, slowly closing the door behind her so as to not make a sound.
As she quietly got ready for bed and pulled on her nightgown, she heard a faint sound coming from somewhere in the apartment. Maybe Celia had fallen asleep with the television on.
She opened the bathroom door slightly and peaked her head out. Her eyes fell on the bed, finding her favorite emerald green dress laid out on the sheets. She walked over and found a note placed on top of it.
I still owe you a dance.
Evelyn couldn’t help but smile as she read it. She changed into the dress and slipped into a pair of black high heels. Before she left, she put on some lipstick, the shade that she knew Celia liked best.
As she walked down the hallway, the sound she had heard become louder and clearer. When she turned into the living room, she found Celia sitting gracefully on the sofa. She was wearing a gorgeous light blue dress and her red hair cascaded down her shoulders. Next to the sofa was the record player, Billie Holiday softly playing in the background.
“Celia,” Evelyn said, walking towards her, arms wide. Pulling Celia into a hug, she said, “You didn’t have to do all this.”
“I didn’t have to,” Celia said with a soft smile, “But I wanted to.”
Evelyn planted a soft kiss on Celia’s lips. She sat down on Celia’s lap, gently tucking her hair behind her ear. “You look stunning,” she whispered.
Celia giggled shyly, resting her hands on Evelyn’s waist. She pressed her nose to Evelyn’s cheek and sighed. “I’ve wanted to dance with you since the day we met,” she said.
Evelyn smiled and closed her eyes, softly petting Celia’s hair. Then, she slid her hand down to Celia’s and threaded their fingers together. “Well then,” she said, smiling slyly. “I believe you owe me a dance.”
Celia gave her hand a small squeeze and smiled up at her.
Evelyn stood up from Celia’s lap, and the pulled Celia to a stand. She guided her to the middle of the living room, staring into her eyes the entire time. She quickly twirled Celia, making her throw her head back and giggle. Then, she pulled Celia close, gently placing her hand on her waist, their chests pressed together, and they gently swayed to the music.
“You know,” Celia said. “This might actually be better than going out dancing with you,” she smiled.
Evelyn raised an eyebrow. “How so?”
“Because now I get you all to myself,” Celia smirked. “No one’s staring at how beautiful you are or asking you to dance with them. Instead,” she said quietly, leaning closer to Evelyn’s ear, “You’re all mine.”
Evelyn smiled widely, pulled Celia’s body even closer to hers. “How did I get so lucky?” she whispered. “I have the most stunning and sweet and intelligent girlfriend in the world.”
“Girlfriend, huh?” Celia said, pressing her lips together tightly, trying desperately not do smile uncontrollably.
“Yes, girlfriend,” Evelyn said, twirling Celia again. “I can’t imagine life without you anymore, my Celia St. James.”
Celia pressed a soft kiss to Evelyn’s lips, and that kiss turned into another kiss, and then another, and then another.

Take Me Home Now: Chapter Five
Chapter Five: All My Memories Gather 'Round Her
Set after the events of ME3.
A rewrite. Ao3.
FemShepxKaidan
He ruffled her hair.
Again.
It was a mistake letting her hair grow back out, now clocking back in at impressive two inches Jane was growing used to the platinum blonde locks. Sure, there were some off-handed comments, but a stern attitude dissuaded most of the direct jokes. Well, for most, it did. Roy was always an exception when it came to her.
Annoying geezer.
But was it a sense of direction or trust that guided her to follow through his every command? It was true Jane had been wary at first- she had seen first hand what the power of being made a defacto leader could do to someone. Abuse, rape, and murder. Here, at least for the time being, Roy kept his head. Even begrudged the position. Not that he shared it pubically, only mentioning it in passing to her, but she understood the burden all the same. Jane had lived it: rejected it. It was a strange sense of comfort to follow, better that the man leading was becoming a dear...
She couldn't; she had to reject that notion.
"I know you're there."
The whir of the door a dead giveaway when it came to being followed. Jane's hypervigilance had only increased with her time spent outside active combat. Sure, she still found herself battling at least on a biweekly routine, but it was nothing compared to her time on the Normandy. That person spent more time in cover than under covers.
The mousy-haired girl stared up at her, brown eyes hard and unyielding. Hell, this kid was scary.
"Do you need something, Evelyn?"
The girl harrumphed, "what are you doing?"
Leave it to the lady carrying a dying plant around to be the most suspicious thing going on in the compound, "Spectre business."
Evelyn's, not Eva's, glare worsened. Her cheeks and nostrils flaring.
"What are you doing?" Jane replied in the same smarmy tone.
"My job," she returned matter-of-factly, "even if I don't like it, and even if Papa says you are sick."
"What, are you like, three? You don't have a job."
"Seven. And yes I do! Pater gave me one," the kid smirked, sticking out her tongue.
"And what's that? Being precocious?"
"Pre- what?" Evelyn stammered.
"Being a shit," the swear already escaped before it could be altered. Thus, reinstating the belief that children did not belong around her in any capacity.
Her furrowed brow gave way to a secretive smile, "Pater said someone needed to watch you. Seems stupid, but Papa said we all have to do things we don't want to right now."
Of course, Roy would.
"You're weird," the girl stated plainly, "your face is kinda glowy, and you spend a lot of time with those aliens."
Back on Earth, it wasn't hard to forget that First Contact was a meer thirty years ago. Not that it was blame for their attitudes, but most of the humans had a hard time trusting the aliens. It was only made worse when the squadron of Turians joined them, piling them on top of the loud and aggressive Krogan; most of the natives were uncomfortable. Already the Turians and Krogan had old beefs to settle, and the dash of human fear for the Turian species quickly started a lopsided triangle. At least the Krogan adage of 'seek the enemy of your enemy, and you will find a friend' came to the humans and krogan developing a tenuous alliance.
"Those aliens are nothing to be afraid of," Jane chided gently.
The kid neither gave up nor responded, instead following the woman through the hall and into the open atrium. The place had boomed in population, the mall teeming with signs of life that would have echoed its days before the war. Voices, distant music, and the general clatter of movement greeting them from outside the confines of the sealed hallways. Once Jane could walk through here without watching a step, now she dodged other people, weaving through the crowd with ease and speed intended to dislodge her charge.
Evelyn was spry, knocking into the lady as she unexpectedly stopped. She peeked around her, watching as the red Krogan started to cheer loudly. Another alien, smaller and with a grey carapace charged at his elder, the two rather than colliding ended the charge with a weird arm hold. For a moment, the two crests rested against each other, sharing a few soft and private words.
Even weirder was The Recruit, looking over the scene sadly, a hand held over her heart. Her jaw flexed, another sharp and illuminated line flaring vertically up her cheek—another note to add to the log.
"They look so mean," Evelyn complained, unsure why Jane would be watching this sadly. It was frightening, to her they were great brutes that usually ended up destroying something.
"They really aren't," Jane countered softly, a slight crack in her voice, "if one gives you an attitude, a head butt will set them straight."
She did like that this grown-up did not treat her like a child, unlike the rest.
Both of them tensed at the appearance of a green-shelled krogan; the arrival of the male ended the short embrace between the red and grey one. Then, as usual, the aliens returned to their fierce and violent natures, turning the greeting into a shoving contest.
"Don't fu-," the adult caught herself this time, "leave him alone. He's trouble."
Jane strode forwards, picking up her pace. It was no longer weaving through the crowd, as so much a straight charge across the atrium and to the access corridor that leads to the western parking lot- deciding they wanted to stay out of the way for practicality and ease. The Turians chose to take up the ramp as their headquarters. And this is where Jane headed for her errand.
Yeah, make me, make friendly with the Turians. Screw that they respect the chain of command more than a friendly face, all arguments Jane had tried in vain against the LT to get out of this assignment,  watch me fuck this up over a plant. Jeez, why not let them grow their own garden? Fuck if I know what I am doing.
But he did have one counterargument that made complete sense and was entirely of her own fault. She was the known member of the humans in residence to have any formal diplomatic training. She was still kicking herself for that slip of knowledge.
"You should head back home," she murmured to her back, "boring adult stuff. You won't miss much."
The baggy military rags were not enough protection from the spring chill, but she would press on. Clipping up the three-story climb to reach the perched Turians. The 'outpost' could overlook the entire mall with well-placed postings, which the military-minded turians had already accomplished within hours of selecting this area as a base of operations. The forward guard used to seeing the Recruit hardly blinked, only balking in their subtle way at the package tucked into her arms.
"Recruit," the LT wasn't the only one called by their moniker, the pinkish hued Turian gave something equivalent to a grin eyes wandering down to the plant the human carried, "another issue?"
Jane pushed the plant on the turian, "pretty much. I don't know shit about these plants."
"I grew herbs in my kitchen, I'd guess too much sunlight?"
"Makes as much sense as anything else. We've learned they can't be next to potatoes, now they hate the sun," Jane glanced down at her arms, "and I forgot to wear gloves. That's disappointing- I had plans for those hands tonight."
Silva's mandible vibrated, "there are other ways to relieve tension."
So begun the dance. It always started clean, water running over her arms, a quick quip about the luxury of running water, and the application of ointment. The all too gentle rub of talons across the top of her knuckles, a lingering glance Jane couldn't quite bring herself to notice, and finally a cocky declaration of future victory.
The Commander enjoyed the relaxed regulations of the Turian military, not that Alliance would have ever forbidden forbidden a friendly sparring match it felt much better to let off some steam without fear of repercussion. One didn't have to play nice. Fringe pulling, blows below the belt, untamed aggression was all too welcome in the turian fighting cage. While today wasn't a dirty fight day, Jane was all too eager to move.
Silva made the first jab, and the Recruit absorbed it with a smile.
"The LT is going to have my head one of these days," the Turian went in for the next blow, this time the human dodged, "I'm even going soft on you."
"Come on, Shepard," Garrus mocked, weaving below her fist, "stop dancing around."
Roy didn't appreciate the fighting, even after learning they were all in good sport. The punishment of latrine duty was now part of her chores, for how much she heeded his grumbling. He blamed the bruises for too many things- headaches, sideways glances, the lack of respect she commanded for herself. Why did he care? She never asked, never expected it. But he never told her to stop, so she wouldn't.
"I can't always make it take easy on you, Vakarian," Mary retorted, sweeping out her leg to purchase at a braced turian.
The female turian's claws grasped into her arm, but she was ready, twirling around and planting her elbow into a painfully rigid chin sending the offender reeling back a couple of steps, "that's one advantage of an exoskeleton."
"Or are we afraid to bruise our pretty face in case the Major struts on by," Garrus teased, barely inching past the biotically charged fist going for his scarred mandible, "unless he doesn't know about our little fight club?"
"At least I can roll."
"I wouldn't worry, Shepard," if the Turian were human, his eyebrow would be cocked and a flashy grin across his face, "it's so much better when they are angry."
The turian cackled; today the hits were much easier to connect. Or was the human not trying? She could be like that, destructive. Silva kept the hits low and softened the severity in which she delivered them. Jane struggled to keep her hands where they belonged, one threading and rubbing through her hair each time they disconnected to reset their stances.
"Like I care what the M-" her friend's stern glare shut her down, "don't jealous Gar-Gar."
Jane tumbled to the ground, nose trickling the strange red color. It was time for this fight to be over, the human shook underneath her grasp. But the too expressive species wore a brave face, "Jane."
"Two hundred years later, and still nobody talks about fight club," Mary after close inspection, did notice that the Major strutted, "I'm disappointed I wasn't invited." The handsome human specimen winked at the Commander, his sideways grin all-knowing.
"It's fine, probably enough for the day."
The female moved out of her grasp, turning around to wipe at her face. Silva pretended not to notice Jane went for her eyes first.
"Well, that was quick," the turian was a little disappointed, "you're different for a human."
Jane deaned to turn her head back for that comment, cocking an eyebrow at her, "you must not have left Palaven, or whatever your colony was, much."
"No, ma'am," the turian hesitated, "at least, the rest of your group doesn't seem interested in us."
"How would you feel if this was Palaven?"
Her mandibles vibrated.
"Now add your species being attacked thirty years ago by this species you suddenly have to get along with," Jane smiled softly, she was too harsh, "plus we're a bunch of cranky jerks."
Silva laughed deeply, "and add a war that has crippled an entire galaxy, it is a wonder we aren't all fighting."
"It's the krogan," Jane mused.
"Spirits bless, the krogans being the most level-headed."
"After Tuchanka, they probably feel at home," damn her words, "it was the Salarians all along."
"I mean, that's some deep level conspiracy, but it checks out," her companion tried to keep up the fading mood.
"Just give us some time; we're people of action only that really means something," to which race the words were meant for was moot.

holiday event c: the annual ministry of magic party, hosted by the auror department!
some time in mid-late december, all wizards in united kingdom and nearby surrounding area find themselves greeted with a simple letter: an invitation to the annual holiday gala at the ministry of magic! it will be held on december 24th, starting at 6pm sharp and lasting all through the night.
this gala is a tradition, and why should this year be any different? should we let a war stop us from having fun? absolutely not! it’s the dead of winter, it’s the holiday season, let’s enjoy one night of revelry and fun where the wizarding community unites to have a good time!
the grand atrium is decorated to the nines, everything you can possibly imagine of a holiday party and more. each individual on the fountain of magical brethren statue is even currently sporting a santa hat! there is a large corner for younger children to play, currently charmed to contain several feet of snow, perfect for building snowmen or having snowball fights. there is, of course, a dance floor for teenagers and embarrassing adults alike. there is no specific meal time, rather just a continuously refilled buffet and a number of tables set up throughout the atrium for partygoers to sit and eat with friends and colleagues, some old some new.
though many off-duty aurors and ministry officials (including minister minchum himself) are in attendance, anyone looking hard enough will see that there are plenty of on-the-clock aurors there as well, sticking to the walls and doors and keeping a watchful eye on things. those in the know will also find that there are a number of well-known (though not official, by any means) members of the order of the phoenix in attendance, including the rumored leader herself, delphine rosewood.
tours of the ministry are offered to those interested, with a tour guide keeping everyone on the non-confidential path, of course! otherwise, everyone is encouraged to simply enjoy themselves! happy holidays!
ooc information:
essentially this is the “order party.” it’s hosted by the auror department and many well known members of the order of the phoenix are in attendance, making it pretty clear which side this bad boy is on. while quite literally every wizard has been invited, this party tends to be looked down upon by those in pureblood society - they have their own party, not to be meddled with by the clearly corrupt ministry and aurors, thank you very much.
the party is in the atrium only, with the exception of those going on a tour! this tour is hosted by a ministry official (feel free to write up a random npc if you feel like writing this up) and doesn’t go anywhere confidential, don’t get too excited ya crazy kids
if your character is at hogwarts over break, unfortunately, they will not be able to attend this event!
please tag all starters with abevent007 and abevent007c, and don’t forget to indicate in the open starters discord channel that your character is at hogwarts so people don’t have to put in aaaaaall that effort into clicking on your starter link and then finding out that it’s for someone they can’t interact with and then having to put so much work into moving their lil finger to the ‘x’ button... truly tragic! nobody wants that that’s far too much work!
this event will be taking place ooc from february 23rd to march 1st. you’re welcome to continue your event threads after march 1st, but all event starters must be posted between those dates!
don’t fret, you’re allowed to start/continue non-event threads while this event is occurring!
to make things fun and easy, here’s a list of npcs you can include in paras/threads! we’ve even included some faceclaims for inspiration! feel free to make up other npcs, we just thought it’d be fun to make it a lil easier on ya:
mousie matthews, the hot in town, up and coming writer for the daily prophet - she lives up to her name, often being called ‘mouse’ because she’s always sniffing out everyone’s business! fc: sandra oh
victor kiriakis, one of the lead members of the witch watcher division of the ministry. he might brag about some of the people he has brought in! enjoy his stoic demeanor and let evelyn & ellerie know if you talk to him, they’ve been looking for him all evening! fc: sterling k. brown
belle grant, a member of the wizengamot! belle is actually very easy-going, so if this career path interests you, try to get a word in with her, you won’t regret it! fc: cote de pablo
spencer west, a very grumpy auror. he hates these parties, but it’s part of the political side of the job. catch him complaining about the loud music & the ‘waste of money’. fc: sean bean
agnes harkness, top hit witch at your service. she loves a spicy hostage situation. don’t worry, you will have no trouble getting her to tell you some hot tips! fc: kathryn hahn
pietro zamolodchikova, the best member of the obliviator headquarters! he gets there faster than everyone else, so he has more cases under his belt than anyone else! strangely enough, he went on a case last year and returned looking completely different! strange world! fc: evan peters or aaron taylor johnson

Effort quotes
Always make a total effort, even when the odds are against you.
Arnold Palmer
Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort.
John Ruskin
No one succeeds without effort... Those who succeed owe their success to perseverance.
friendship quotes
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one."-—C. S. Lewis
Friendship is like money, easier made than kept.--Samuel Butler
Friendship is the golden thread that ties the heart of all the world.--John Evelyn
Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.--Woodrow Wilson
Salvation quotes
The thief had nails through both hands, so that he could not work; and a nail through each foot, so that he could not run errands for the Lord; he could not lift a hand or a foot toward his salvation, and yet Christ offered him the gift of God; and he took it. Christ threw him a passport, and took him into Paradise.
Salvation is from our side a choice, from the divine side it is a seizing upon, an apprehending, a conquest by the Most High God. Our “accepting” and “willing” are reactions rather than actions

Effort friendship Salvation quotes
Eleanor Roosevelt quotes
You must do the things you think you cannot do.
When you cease to make a contribution, you begin to die.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
When life is too easy for us, we must beware or we may not be ready to meet the blows which sooner or later come to everyone, rich or poor.
Only a man's character is the real criterion of worth.
It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.

Joyce Meyer quotes
If we are to receive the blessings God wants to bestow upon us, we must be willing to give Him the messes in our lives.
It is God's will to bless us, but not necessarily on our terms. Sometimes what we think would be a wonderful blessing would not bless us at all.
We must remember we are stewards of what God has provided for us, not owners.
Either we will spend our lives trying to take care of ourselves or we will let go and let God take care of us as we put our faith and trust in Him.

Harry and Evelyn: The Gathering Cold
Previously on...
Harry
It would have been ideal to take a timeout, shuffle off to some inconsequential corner of their fine city for a much needed breather and a serious regroup session. Unfortunately, the world didn’t always wait for hearts to settle down from their rapid beating, for the adrenaline to even out and the beaded sweat on the brow to dry. Sometimes they hadn’t a choice but to hit the ground running. The world would continue turning regardless, sweeping all those too stubborn to keep up right off their feet. One way or another, they would be mingled into the mix of life. As a willing participant, or one that just went with the flow without touching the ground.
Harry didn’t skirt through the streets quite as dramatically as he might have wished to, but he wasn’t gentle with Eve either. He kept a steadying arm around her shoulders to prevent what he felt was an inevitable collapse, as flimsy as her stance was. He could feel her body trembling from the aftereffects of what had taken her, something of her consciousness creeping back enough for her to recognize her surroundings. That was good.
Moving was the name of the game for the moment. He would have her keep pace with him, carrying her if necessary.
The ground was icy enough to create a hazard for the general populace, what effort the city put forth to protect those required to be out and about not helping much at all. Most of the city workers were only paid one crisp bill and some change, nothing to write home about. So they didn’t rightly care that they were haphazardly flinging the seasons supply of salt down in clumps, rather than taking care to spread it around enough to touch every solitary surface the many footfalls would connect with that day and night. The piles of salt were slippery on their own, not really all that much better than the ice surrounding it.
Harry’s boots weren’t exactly quality. The tread was completely worn thin on one edge of each foot [did he honestly walk like a fucking duck or something? How? How could that happen???]. One false move and he could well be flat on his own ass, pulling her down with him. He kept up his pace, but kept his mind focused enough not to bring that to fruition if he could help it.
“Dunno.” He finally answered her. “Long enough for me to home in on you. Long enough for icicles to cling to your lashes and come out of your nose.” Her skin was frigid to the touch. He had to warm her up fast, but there weren’t many options around where they were that he was comfortable settling.
The Beetle it was.
He left her only long enough to open the passenger side door to his noble steed, hurrying back to usher her in. “My friends house is not too far from here. I’m taking you there to warm up a minute.” That came first. They could get into the meat of what happened later. It wouldn’t matter if she froze to death.
He shrugged off his duster, more ‘security blanket’ for him those days than ‘cool’ jacket. He always felt naked without it, sorely out of place, like he just turned abruptly into a dumb sitting duck. But there was a situation of greater import for the moment. She needed an extra layer of something more than he did.
Tumblr media
Evelyn
The cold bit her to the marrow. Evelyn barely registered the feel of Harry’s arm around her as he guided her over the icy streets, but she found herself unconsciously leaning into his warmth as shivers wracked her body. Dimly, as though still in a dream, she saw herself placing one foot in front of the other, sliding here and there as she stumbled forward on numb legs. She would have fallen many times over were it not for Harry.
“M-miss… home,” she mumbled through chattering teeth. “N-n-never this c-cold.”
She didn’t mean her lovely little Victorian house a few blocks down from here, as nice as it had been for her since moving to Chicago. No, she missed the little white house in Louisiana, with its covered front porch and luscious garden and aging willows, missed the aging, dilapidated charm of Wisteria with its warm spring rains and the sultry summer nights studded with the darting gold starlight of the fireflies, the quiet, steady rush of the nearby river, the familiar clutter of her curio shop, her small but loyal circle of friends.
She even missed her family. She missed the idea of what her family could have been, should have been. What she had once thought they were, before circumstances had brought things into implacable focus. The dream had dredged up every last bit of those feelings she had thought dead and buried years ago.
The dream.
Eyes, green like emeralds illuminated with moonlight. Prismatic laughter echoing with cold, dancing frost-light inside the boundaries of the dream.
What had happened? Who– or what– had done this to her? Was it still watching them? Stalking them in silence? Waiting for an opportune time to strike at her again? She found herself looking around as they moved, searching for a slithering shadow with a gleam of ethereal green eyes. She couldn’t see anything, but she was absolutely certain it was still there. Still following.
Do you accept? it had asked. Accept what, exactly?
Harry said something about taking her to a friend’s house, and she nearly told him that her own home was nearby, but suddenly she didn’t want to go there. Her walls felt like flimsy protection against such a being. What if it came back after she was alone again?
She realized she didn’t want to be alone, period. The words lodged in the back of her throat as she struggled to keep up with Harry’s long-legged strides. The weight of his coat settled around her shoulders, and her pride reared up, fierce and adamantine; she straightened her spine, forcing her legs to bear more of her own weight, though she muttered a barely audible thanks. Still, though, weakness continued to wash through her body, and soul-draining cold, and she leaned on him more than she would have liked. She pulled the duster around herself, wincing as she noted that it was dragging through the snow as she walked. The little bit of added warmth felt good.
“Be fine,” she said. Her voice came out in a weak murmur, though she had tried to infuse it with enough stony determination to make it sound at least somewhat convincing. “J-just got… bit c-cold.”
The dark, rotund shape of an automobile loomed into view, and it took her addled mind a few seconds to realize it was Harry’s Beetle. The great big comic book nerd had dubbed it the Blue Beetle, though it was more of a multi-colored Beetle now, after all the repair work that had been done on it, replacing doors and hood. It always amused her to see this tall, gangling man fold himself up behind the wheel of the little car and put-put around town in it. A delirious giggle bubbled up from her throat now as she saw the car. “To the Harrymobile!” she slurred, and then her legs buckled and she slumped against him.
“No,” she said, as if scolding a puppy. “Bad legs.”

Evermore Now I know she’ll never leave me, Even as she fades from view She will still inspire me Be apart of everything I do Wasting in my lonely tower Waiting by an open door I’ll fool myself she’ll walk right in And as the long long nights begin, I’ll think of all that might have been,  Waiting here for evermore! (sorry I love this part) The Plagues You who I called brother, how could you have come to hate me so? Is this what you wanted? Then let my heart be hardened, And nevermind how high the cost may grow, This will still be so, I will never let, your, people,go! All I Ever Wanted I am a sovereign prince of Egypt, a son of a proud history that’s shown, Etched on every wall! Surely this is all I ever wanted, all I ever wanted... Evelyn,Evelyn We grew up so very close A parasite needs a host I'm only trying to do what is best for us Well, I never asked for this, I never wanted this All that I want is some time to myself Looking in your eyes, I'm coming home Just get away from me, please just stop touching me You're always trying to be somebody else Now I realize I'm not alone Well, you're only scared of me But you never cared for me Why don't you let me free? 'Cause you'd never dare to be 'Cause you never listen, you're always insisting (I'm just/just stop) reminiscing, I feel something missing I just want (you here with me my privacy), God (can't we just get along/won't you leave me alone)? (sorry long) Mike Teavee It rots the senses in the head It kills imagination dead It clogs and clutters up the mind It makes a child so dull and blind (So dull and blind, so dull and blind)He can no longer understand A fairytale in fairyland (A Fairyland, A Fairyland) His brain becomes as soft as cheese His thinking powers rust and freeze He cannot think he only sees (He only sees, he only sees) Veruca Salt  A fish head, for example, cut This morning from a halibut. An oyster from an oyster stew, A steak that no one else would chew, And lots of other things as well, Each with a rather horrid smell. Star of the Show  I don’t think the show is ending, Everybody’s still applauding I don’t see the point in painting merry smiles on my face You know it’s rude to stare This really isn’t fair  Your helium infected voice, Please shut up you make too much noise Violet Beauregarde (FUCK THIS ONE’S HARD) For years and years she chews away Her jaw gets stronger every day. And with one great tremendous chew They bite the poor girls tongue in two And that is why we try so hard To save miss Violet Beauregarde Chewing, chewing all day long chewing, Chewing all day long Chewing, chewing, chewing, chewing, chewing, chewing all day long Housewife Radio Memories inside my heart are there to grieve Color-coded by the love he gave to me Ah, his voice, it speaks to me through the radio Pressing spotted fabric on an ironing board Losing bobbins under tables, is it so? Every day, it feels like seams are more than torn Buttoned patchwork, thread that's tied in knots Hand-sew everything with kind intention Liquid sound waves pour from my eyes My heart cries out to you in desperation 7AM is when the station plays its sounds Listening to the speaker while the patterns sew into place Unmistakably, he'll return alive His colors ought to show again I Dreamed a Dream He filled my days with endless wonder, He took my childhood in his stride! But he was gone when Autumn came, And still I dream he’ll come to me, That we will live the years together, But there are dreams that cannot be! And there are storms we cannot weather. Trust In Me I understand you have your reservations, Not knowing what I’ll ask from you, there’s reason to think twice, But I give you my word you both will be safe and sound, Although you’ll soon learn magic never comes without a price!

Eleanor Roosevelt friendship Salvation quotes

Our “accepting” and “willing” are reactions rather than actions. The right of determination must always remain with God. ~ A.W. Tozer, Preacher
