like a large amount of us probably encountered some kind of serious engagement with communism as a real ideology you can have and not just a historical fact on here through posts. and those posts probably weren't very good. but it was what led us to becoming "leftists" to some extent. but also most people do not build an extensive personal theoretical framework for their politics based on literature even after engaging w tumblr posts about communism so their understanding of marxism or anarchism or maoism-thridworldism (or even their analysis of capitalism) is necessarily not going to be the most in-depth thing ever. so when someone has commie in bio but doesnt ever post about politics and doesnt seem to know what they're talking about in your replies think for a second before accusing them of getting their basic education on politics from a youtube video or tiktok because the most likely culprit is actually your own posts

One of George Washington’s homes. I walk past it every day, sometimes multiple times a day, and I always think about him like he’s in there in some form. I often wonder how he must feel that his neighborhood has been turned into a Dominican shithole for many years.
