Side Arms sits in the middle of Capcom’s loose “Flying Guy” trilogy. While not particularly obscure, it’s generally not as well known as its related games, Section Z and Forgotten Worlds, because its only contemporary console port was to the TurboGrafx-16. Side Arms was the debut work of artist Akira “Akiman” Yasuda, who became world renowned for his later work on the Street Fighter series. It also shamelessly wears its Gundam inspiration on its head. One of the regular enemies you’ll fight are basically just the Zaku robots, famous for its red Cyclops-like eye.

i haven’t fully developed her yet but she’s a college student! she goes to the college that dr ratio teaches. however, she doesn’t take his classes and often slacks off. yet dr ratio is interested (read: frustrated) in her due to her father being his coworker in the past; she often came to visit the man & stopped by his room to attend his lectures. she always was one of the most inquisitive students, asking questions he didn’t have the answer of until the next time she visits

yet when she became old enough to enter college, she no longer carried the same drivel she did all those years ago.

If your trainersona name isn’t Mira, what does Kao mean? Just curious!

oh, since there’s already an official pokemon trainer and silent hill shiba named mira and i don’t want to risk being too cringy/self-aggrandizing being “too blatant” about the self-insert thing (if that makes sense), i went with kao for various pun and symbolism reasons! it’s similar to the vietnamese translation for “fox” and japanese translation for “face”

i’ve been told my foxsona/mascot kind of guy fits zorua well, so i went with that! both normal and hisuian zorua are cute and fit the spooky dark/ghost fox motifs well, and i like vietnamese mythology and animism.

However, the novel itself is a literal novelization of the game, so there aren't any new scenes.

Dragon Warrior's Forgotten Prophet

The manual of the original Dragon Quest / Warrior mentions a great prophet, called Mutsuheta (ムツヘタ) in Japanese and Mahetta in English. However, they never actually appeared in the game, or any other game, for that matter….at least, until Dragon Quest Builders in 2016.
