Listening to the Crime in Sports podcast about Aaron Hernandez and, Jesus, this is horrifying.
Even before he was 17, everyone knew he was a troubled, violent person who needed help. Literally when he was 17 he was involved in an incident in which a man got shot in the head.
But nobody did anything. Because he was a good football player.

I wanted to go to concerts all the time and be friends with people in bands and I am! I wanted to meet and see interesting people and I have.
Years back when I got my first two jobs, one was security and I got to work the vip room for Arnold Schwarzenegger and I met Tim Tibow as well. Tim was nice and chatted with me for a minute and Arnold waved at me.
For a kid that got bullied in school for being poor, gay and listening to alternative music I think my life turned out pretty amazing. Also I had an abusive family.
I mean, I get to be friends with my favorite musicians. They always hug me. And the one I'm in love with is always cuddly with me and says she loves me.
And I got my black belt last year and now I get paid to teach taekwondo. Some kids say I'm their favorite teacher. And one boy's mom says she appreciates me and says I'm good with the kids.
I think life ended up pretty awesome for a poor, depressed gay kid.
