Umbrella academy - subway map code translated

Some of you might have seen I started to make a stab at solving the symbol code seen in TUA S4.

@ifellinto-fantasy happened upon a real life copy of the map so very kindly sent me some lovely photos to help translate the smaller bits of text I was struggling to see.

There are some missing letters and presumed typos in the code, so where I've corrected these I've added brackets around the correction, in caps if a corrected letter (M) lower case if an added letter (m)

ISAT's script is finished!

With this page, one year and nearly three months after it began, we're officially concluding ISAT's script. It's done. (Hopefully) every single ounce of text to be found on ISAT has been dutifully transcribed and put up for your reading pleasure.

Is this the end of the ISAT Script Project?

In short: No!

In long: Not for a while yet. We've still got START AGAIN: a prologue left to cover, and there's been interest at looking at In Stars and Time DEMO as well, since that features some exclusive scenes that may be interesting to all.

In addition to that, Gold has been looking into whether we can make the site bilingual, and also host the japanese script! Newcomer to the squad LunarDusk has been hammering out the search engine you've all been waiting for, and I no longer have any excuse to put off my fantranslation of ISAT into german. (Though that wouldn't be on this website, exactly.)

So you're stuck with us a little longer! Just a moment longer, a second longer... Hehe.

Thank you, everyone, for all your love and support in this project!

It cannot be understated how motivating it was (and is) to know how the fandom has come to love this project. Just seeing stray screenshots of it, seeing fanworks quote obscure game text en-masse, and to know we've helped you love this wonderful game even more by picking it apart, warms my heart.

This is, statisically speaking, the most impactful thing I have ever made, in my life.

wick is an actor mainly known for his handsome leading man roles in dramas and romances, but he really wants to do more obscure and comedic work (the robert pattinson trajectory)

neeta was a child actress for a series of childrens' adventure movies that took up her own entire childhood. she's ready to do her own thing now and really wants to do a travel show.

emery was a protagonist in the same series of childrens' movies as neeta and hasn't figured out what to do with his career after it. he's mainly living off royalties and trying to shake the burn out child actor curse.

"mr honeycutt" is a satirical character conceived by actor theodore honeycutt who, famously, never breaks character in his public appearances as mr. honeycutt. children love him for some reason.

The only solid birth year we get from ANYONE is Tim, who was born in 1988.

We get this info from the doxed records, and he shares a birthday/year with his actor. So it’s safe to assume everyone else also does, at least the year.

Alex’s birthday is April 4th but his Joseph’s is May 21, 1988.

Jay’s actor Troy was born May 17th 1988.

Brian’s actor Brian was born April 17th, 1989.

(Collected info from online, idk how correct they are).

According to Jay, Alex started working on MH in 2006. The extent of what had started we don’t know. I would guess either script writing or early filming.

They were all only 18-19 in 2006, and depending on how old they were when they left highschool only one or two years into college.

Alex is technically the oldest with Jay following only a few weeks later, I would imagine they probably have gone to college the fall after graduating so they could’ve started as early as 17, maybe 18, entering college in 2005.

Tim is complicated because he didn’t go to highschool. According to his records his last year of school was 2nd grade when he was 7/8 years old. So he would’ve been schooled in the care hospital he was placed in until he turned 18. If he was a year ahead of Brian, it probably wouldn’t have mattered because they probably schooled him longer?

So they entered college at the same time in 2006.

Depending on course requirements, assigned student films are given a semester or school year to complete. However it isn’t unheard of, if someone is taking an extensive film major that may take a couple years, to have a larger film due at an end of the course which could be 2 to 4 years. It’s not common but not unheard of.

If this is the case for Alex, it’d make sense. In 2005, He’d have been given maybe a semester of learning how to direct and film and write, then come spring of 2006 be given the project. He writes the script over summer break and by fall he does casting and he has all year to film. Filming starts late Winter 2006 and runs into Spring, it’s why the earliest shots seem to have mostly dead woods.

Back tracking just a bit, Brian enters, seems like he knows Alex. It’s possible they went to highschool together, honestly very likely the town they are in is a small one. Maybe they were even in a drama/theater club together but that’s totally speculation. They knew each other before college.

Brian knows Tim at this point, presumably having several classes with him and them having their slowly growing friendship. It’s possible they were roommates. It is possible Brian met Tim earlier but we don’t know how strict Tim’s hospital care was as a teenager and how much he would’ve been allowed out but it could be possible they’ve known each other a few years too. But whatever is the case, he knows Tim. So, when invited to the auditions he brings Tim.

Alex’s film has a year of work time, starting in the cross over of 2006/2007. It is due by the first class of the following fall/start of school year, 2007. He gets all year and all summer to film.

But then stuff with the Operator starts happening. It also means that Seth, Sarah, and Brian are all missing or presumed dead in 2007.

Alex either never turns in the film or he edits it together like we see glimpses of and something not finished to his vision is turned in, it doesn’t matter.

Months go by, after Alex stopped inviting people over, stopped talking to people, plans on moving, is when Jay calls him about the tapes, about wanting to preserve them or finish them, or just have them. I would again guess by what little we see of outside this is fall/winter of 2008. This is that scene we see with Jay at his house getting bags of tapes. Jay is the last person Alex has contact with other than Amy, but we don’t hear much about her during this time as she likely lives with her roommate Jessica here.

That’s when Alex shoves the tapes into Jay’s arms and tells him to leave (and then beats the snot out of him after).

It’s a couple months later, after Alex totally goes MIA, that Jay starts watching the videos, compiling them, and that’s when he starts posting in 2009. The events roll out as we know them there.

Has anyone Flipped the Breath of the Wild map upside down yet?

It lines up with Ocarina of Time's map almost perfectly

So first we have Ocarina of Time's map:

Combined + Numbers for my notes:

1: Lake Hylia lines up perfectly with the Korok forest's lake.

2: Lon Lon Ranch lines up perfectly with the Lon Lon Ranch Ruins in Botw

3: The Temple of Time lines up with the other Temple of Time.

4: I just realized I skipped 4.... Oops XD

5!: This river system lines up

6: This river system ALSO Lines up

7: Tall mountains surrounding the lake

8: In Botw this has tall mountains covered in snow, in OoT, These are tall mountains with flowing rivers

9: This forest here is most def not the Gorudo valley... But then again it's been a very LONG time.

I found this while researching for my next video! Thoughts?? I'm now thinking what OTHER maps are upside down!... Like Twilight Princess... Hmm....

Also, the Botw map looks much more... Flooded than the others... Hmmmmm.....

when yibo-official first released the loewe photos, we didn’t know where it was shot. but with the material they released today, it’s clear where it is. On this great day of Chinese Valentine's Day, they finally released the shooting location, on the rooftop of Grandrex Studio, and this cinema is on the street where XZ visited a toy store in June for his Paris Vlog. The two places are only about 500 meters away on foot.

in addition, it was drizzling in Paris when XZ was shooting the vlog on 615, and it was also raining when WYB went out on 622. Umbrella elements appeared in both videos, and the umbrella looks exactly the same.

Therefore, something must have happened on 621 and 622, but they will not release it so soon to let us know. 😏

i think i have the answer on why a photo from this event was used for his bday. it’s special 🫶🏼

ok so ive been playing twilight princess and it got me thinking about hyrule maps again

so prepare for a hyrule geography lesson

so some baseline geographic lore for zelda. the kingdom of hyrule is broken up into three provinces, each one with its own people and history: the lanayru province (named for the goddess nayru), the eldin province (named for the goddess din), and the faron province (named for the goddess farore).

the faron and eldin provinces are really easy to identify. the eldin province consists of the eldin mountain range (which includes death mountain), kakariko village (usually at the foot of the eldin range), and hyrule castle (on the western edge of the eldin province near kakariko village). the faron province is vaguely just “southern forests,” and can easily be pointed out in games that dont name the faron province - kokiri forest would be a part of the faron province.

the lanayru province is… a little harder to define.

it is associated with the goddess nayru, goddess of water. thus, the lanayru province is associated with the zora in several games.

however, in many games the zora are instead associated with the eldin region; the zora fountain, the origin of hyrules rivers, is often shown as a lake in the eldin mountain range. look at games like ocarina of time, a link to the past, etc. these depictions of the zora will usually have zoras domain behind a waterfall. i equate this waterfall to veil falls from minish cap, as it is named to be the source of the water flow in hyrule. all of these are east of hyrule castle, nestled among the mountains - in the eldin province.

games that associate the lanayru province with the zora include: twilight princess and breath of the wild.

thats it.

twilight princess still tries to keep the zora associated with the “northern source of water,” so they place the lanayru province further north than the eldin province. while this keeps the zora associated with that thematic element, it contradicts the zoras usual placement, being the southern edge of the eldin range. breath of the wild, meanwhile, is more consistent with its placement, being just south of the eldin province - however, in order to have the zoras lanayru province be distinguished from the eldin province, it is pushed so far south that the zora fountain is no longer the source of all water in hyrule.

so you have two separate placements for “zora lanayru,” being north of the eldin province and being south of the eldin province. both contradict the zoras historic association with the eldin mountain range.

the primary example of the lanayru province which isnt associated with the zora (the example i like best) is the lanayru province from skyward sword. it makes the southwest desert and associated regions the lanayru province, with the idea being that it was once wet and fertile before industrialization and unsustainable mining practices desertified the region.

the reason i am such a fan of this lanayru province is that it is a key aspect in several of my timeline theories. it is essential for understanding the timeline, so… im a fan of skyward swords lanayru province.

heres the thing: this means that the associated people for the lanayru province wouldnt be the zora at all, itd be the GERUDO. which is some goofy shit. but it also lets us understand the scope of the lanayru province more by looking at the gerudo territory.

the skyward sword lanayru desert is actually south of the ocarina of time gerudo desert; gerudo valley snakes up north to gerudo fortress, which opens into the desert. this means that, if the western desert is the lanayru province, the lanayru province stretches far from the north and south, making it a “skinny” province so to speak.

we dont see many games that show whats north of the eldin mountain range. the only games i know of that do are zelda 2 and twilight princess.

zelda 2 shows a northern region split between unscalable mountains and lower grassy fields covered in lakes and rivers. twilight princess shows a northern area consisting of zoras domain and the snowpeak mountain range. assume that snowpeak IS the mountain range in zelda 2. it has a… vaguely similar shape? also, the zelda 2 mountains are connected directly to a western range that spreads all the way from the north to the south, which would be equivalent to the range gerudo valley is nestled within in ocarina of time.

we could say that the lanayru region lies to the west of the gerudo mountain range, snaking up north before spreading east once its north of the eldin mountain range. the gerudo range would transition into the snowpeak range, which breaks up the landscape of zelda 2s greater hyrule. this would allow for the northern lanayru region we see in twilight princess. the eldin province, meanwhile, consists of central hyrule, the eldin mountain range, and the eastern coast we see in zelda 1, making it the widest province. and the faron province would just be… vaguely south, including the forests of hyrule and lake hylia.

and as for breath of the wild?

…no. i dont like breath of the wilds map. its lanayru province isnt real.

still doesnt explain why suddenly the zora (and the zora fountain) is in the northern lanayru province during twilight princess specifically. i think maybe its just an inconsistent map. but whats the fun in that?

Hollows are large subterranean ecosystems that consist of four different levels commonly referred to as 'the four hells'. The hollows are subterranean ecosystems formed from underground rivers, lava tubes, and natural caverns that have existed for tens of millions of years and form connected ecosystems thousands of miles long. These ecosystems have four distinct levels to them. The first level is the areas that connect to the surface through karst regions of the planet. These take the forms of pits and cave entrances, with grass and other surface flora creeping into the cave's deeper parts. In such areas, rivers can be seen flowing into or exiting the hollows, and sparse flora and fauna of the hollows may inhabit these zones. The second layer forms much of the hollow ecosystem and contains the most diverse amounts of flora and fauna present in the hollows. The third level of the hollows is the second largest ecosystem within the caverns and is the deepest part of most hollows. This layer is known for having lakes, aquifers, springs, and oil that boils up to the surface. The fourth layer of the hollows is the rarest and bare ecosystem due to the extreme heat from the planet's mantle, a world of labyrinthine caverns, and roots of biominerals feeding off the geothermal energy and radon deposits at the bottom.

Some notes:

Swing names are generalized based on the major events of that time period. For example, the North American Hard Court swing (NAHC) also includes Palermo in the point total.

Every player besides Krejčíková dropped at least one result. I calculated all points by hand and used the official ranking point totals to work backwards (i.e. if my total is 50 points higher than the official total, then I find the result they achieved that was worth 50 points and nullify that result). In some instances there were multiple tournaments with the same amount of points earned that could have been dropped. In those cases, I nullified the result which contributed less to its respective swing (e.g. subtracted Stuttgart rather than Berlin from Zheng's point total because she earned less points during the grass swing).
