There was a long line of people waiting to adopt animals at Dakin’s Springfield shelter on Union Street

People would eventually adopted dozens of cats along with a number of dogs and small animals at the Springfield location and at the Franklin county shelter in Leverett.

Alice Turgeon traveled from Monson to replace her beloved cat, who had recently died, she told 22News, “When you had the Dakin advertisement and I thought I would like, I mentioned it to my daughter and it’s not too far from when I am, so here I am.”

This was Dakin’s first year participating in the “Clear the Shelters” program.

Both Dakin and 22News are delighted with outcome of finding loving homes for so many animals. 22News was one of many NBC Television stations across America to actively support this humanitarian effort to find homes for as many animals as possible.

Right: Like a nature documentary, a wild Karen appears in her natural habitat. Berating an employee for something way beyond their job description and pay grade. They can see that the employee has been crying and there's no supervisor around. Would your OC step in and put Karen in her place? Would they find someone who works there and reports the incident? There is the risk of the Karen redirecting her anger to your OC making escape even more difficult.

Vanessa: Yes, she would intervene and see no problem with getting in that ass on the worker's behalf. If they redirect their anger on to her, so be it.

Karen can get her ass reamed out by her AND the person she reports to.

Tina: Yes and yes! She'll throw in some jabs for good measure because bitch, if you're going to make someone cry she'll send you off matching with them.

She'll also buy what their selling to make them feel better, even if she didn't like the perfume.

Tasha: She would intervene before the tears would start and be EXTRA bitchy with the Karen. Not on her watch.

Vama: Will intervene and have store management right by her side when it happens. She'll be a lot calmer and just hit the Karen with existential questions that'll make her stop.

"Do you feel stronger? Do you feel smarter than the person trying to sell you this product? I can't imagine feeling great by overpowering someone I see as weaker than me."

HCs/Preconceptions

Tasha puts big bows and tiny sweaters on her sweet baby dogs.

Odin and Ogre sometimes eat better than Vanessa - especially post-DSR.

Tina learning the drums was a hard time in the Leverett family's lives -- mostly for sound dampening reasons.

1. Yes! Sometimes Tasha just wants them cute and the other half of that was just her wanting to see how they would react with clothes on.

Bonnie thinks it's ok while Blu loves them!

2. Yes, especially post-DSR. There were times when she didn't have the appetite.

3. YES! Oh my god yes! Vernon and Vanessa would still be mad at the family friend who taught her if she didn't enjoy herself.

22. How long can your oc stay focused on one task before they get bored? Do they constantly have to switch things up or do they hyperfocus? What sort of things is it the opposite for?

Both of them are able to stay focused on a task for quite a while but they do differ on the intensity of their focus.

Vanessa: She gets into hyper-focus mode when it's time to work and go to school. The difference with her baby sister is she knows when to stop and take a break if she's about to burn out.

Tina: She didn't burn out when it came to studying and working but when it came to practicing for gymnastics when she was younger and perfecting her music, Tina could be in the zone for a long time.

There were plenty of occasions where she didn't/wouldn't sleep if something wasn't to her standards.

29. If your oc was in a video game, what would their idle animation be? (When the player stays still for too long, the animation that plays.)

Vanessa: Checking her hair and then playing fetch with her dog Odin.

Tina: Drumming on her thigh and playing with Ogre, her pet calico cat.
