Alec - Snow Leopard: The snow leopard is a symbol of agility and grace, fitting for Alec's ability to incapacitate his victims with his powers.

Does anyone else think that Jasper Hale may have been an abused child? I mean - joining the war was very problematic but we don’t actually know much about how he grew up. Whitlock isn’t a famous name or one that makes one think of wealth. We know he’s from Texas. We also know when he joined and rose through the ranks with his gift he assigned himself to - evacuating women and children- not something that a young man looking for the glory of war would have done. It’s just something I think about sometimes.
How much he respects and yet is very protective, specifically, of women is an interesting angel. I also think it’s interesting that he was an abusive relationship with Maria for so long where Maria was obviously in the dominate role as his Sire.
He also never seems abashed or ashamed that he’s a vampire to say Bella. He says things like “It would be nice to not want to kill you all the time”. He seems comfortable being a vampire as long as he is in control. It’s when he looses control he considers himself a monster and the self hatred comes in. He was most honest about his past being bloodier and more problematic, than most the Cullens anyway.
It’s just something I find fascinating. He clearly respects Alice his mate, Rosalie his ‘twin’ , and his surrogate mother Esme. Not saying he’s not problematic. He totally and completely is. I’m just curious about how far his character could go.

rosalie is not as nasty in personality as she may appear. she may be firm on her opinions, but she’s quite gentle when she doesn’t need to be a leader.
