Commitment
.
.
.
Satine's hand brushes against Obi-Wan's cheek. Her fingertips linger on his cheekbone, just for a moment. Her lips part, ready to ask the question, ready to bind him to her- but then her eyes rest on the tightly wound braid. With the ghost of a touch she reads the promise there, and she knows.
When they meet again an eternity later, separated by a war and by the years and by a strand of hair that has long since been cut off, she sees the ever committed Jedi in his steady eyes.
.
Adi's aunt frowns over the holo, her expression hard to read. Adi keeps her eyes firm and her attitude respectful, striving to embody the confidence and humility of a Jedi Knight. She's only a Padawan, but even then it seems to hit the mark.
"You're very serious about this life, aren't you?" her aunt says.
There is a long pause. And at last, her aunt commits.
"Stass will go to the Temple."
.
"But why not?" the boy asks, his eyes supplicant, his mouth hungry. He radiates incomprehension and desperate longing.
Aayla shakes her head, feeling a bit sad, mostly for him.
"I'm a Jedi," she explains again, "my life is not my own. It belongs to the people we defend and protect."
"But who would that even hurt, us being together, just for a bit?"
She gives him a single kiss, nothing more than a quick peck so he'll at least have that to carry with him: being the boy who kissed a Jedi girl - and she shakes her head again.
"You wouldn’t want someone who'd break her commitments."
.
Rig feels she might just pass out from exhaustion, sweat trickling down into her eyes. She keeps going, moving from patient to patient until her head is buzzing and she can't tell one moment from the next and the Force is the only thing sustaining her.
A hand settles on her shoulder, a voice speaks of the only transport off world of the month leaving soon.
"I promised I'd stay," she says. So she does. Jedi keep their promises.
.
"I can master this," Tiplar insists, copying Tiplee's stance once again.
Their masters watch from the sidelines.
Tiplee studies her twin sister's face. This isn't about Tiplar's pride and it’s not coming from fear of inadequacy either. There is only pure determination in the Force.
They will both be Jedi Knights. They are meant for this path, and Tiplar will fight to walk in it and be worthy. Nodding, Tiplee resumes the kata.

Jango and Clones: What if Jango from before Jester’s death showed up in the Clone Wars?
What if Jango from before Jaster’s death got dropped into the clone wars. Beginning, end, middle. Doesn’t matter. Just somewhere.
In his mind he’s got an idea of how his life will go. Follow in his father’s footsteps, make a family, hunt bounty’s, do something about the Mandalore Situation.
He sees dozens, hundreds, thousands, millions of people with his face. They have his voice, his accent. His hair, his skin, the same moles and hands and slant of mouth and nose. They all look like him.
He asks one after everything’s settled down. He shot at one of the three jetti’s. The Mikkian deflected the shot into the ground at his feet and he’d had two battalions’ muzzles aimed at him in the next second. The Mikkian jetti and a human came to him, talked about like he wasn’t there, ignored his questions and demands and held their hands out at him.
“There has been a disturbance in the Force,” the mikkian said. “Something is different, like a rivet running off from a river and forming a new stream.”
The human had nodded sagely. “Yes. It feels off. Strange but…new. Like a mended cloak what was never torn.”
“The future is always in motion.” The human nods, cupping their elbows.
“Yes. But the past is in stone.”
Jango barked, “stop talking in fucking riddles! Where am I?!”
He is ignored again and detained. Hours later the jetti come to the containment cell he’s been locked in in his undersuit.
They introduce themselves as Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Masters Tiplee and Tiplar Nal, Generals of the Grand Army of the Republic. They say he has tracked through time. He says banthashit and is given a pad with current events. He combs through it, searching for anything to disprove it.
There’s nothing. There’s a civil war on Mandalore between New and Death Watch. There’s a report of Jester’s death. A death certificate for himself, about two ago from the date on the pad. There’s a galaxy wide war, dark jetti and jetti at the helm. There is an army of over three million men that were made from his DNA.
He asks the jetti for why they wanted his blood. They say they didn’t know. His. Fucking. Foot.
They explain the clones, how they were trained and what for. They explain that he—the him that was sold into slavery after all his Traditional Mandalorians were killed by jetti and sold into slavery—willingly gave up his blood and cells to fucking cloners to create and raise millions of people to be canon fodder for the fucking Republic and jetti.
He curses them in his mind. He will need them to escape. There’s too much information, miscellaneous reports of every day activities, and far off planets, of big events that would certainly catch his eye and make him remember, too many products made, too many new models of machines, too many senatorial nonsensical debates and scandals that rot his brain just by looking at them. There is too much information to be faked.
Wherever he is, whenever he is—Ka’ra fuck it, what the hell—he has family here, millions of family, sons that have been enslaved since the moment of their birth for canon fodder and jetti and the Republic. He has work to do, getting them out, finding a planet for them to live, undoing so much brainwashing.
But to do that he needs them on his side. They can easily take the ship. Three jetti verses a few thousand mandos will be nothing.
So he asks one of the guards, “Do you know me?”
“No.” They say and the other guard chides them.
“Did the jetti let you?” He asks.
“Prime didn’t want to know us. He got his one son and a million meat droids.”
“Enough!” The other guard says and a new guard replaces them. Neither of them answer him.
A son. One raised as the Ka’ra intended. Hopefully he can get others to see how they have been chained and free their family.
— — —-
This is an AU. Jango is a rat bastard with a shit life that did very bad things to the clones. If he spontaneously popped popped back to life with all of his memories from Geonosis he would not hesitate to kill any clone what got in his way.
He got that way, by being enslaved on a spaceship for well over 10 years, after having watched all of his people be killed in front of him. All the good things about him have been beaten down so much that they are only fine dust particles at this point. Jango Fett from when his father was still alive? That guy? He’s up in arms. He sees his clones as family and the Jedi as jailers.
The AU would continue on with Jango trying to get the clones to see how badly they’re being treated. They go, yes, we see. We know.
They’re on the fence about Little Jango, some want nothing to do with him and some are curious of this man. The Jedi are trying to get to the Temple and sort out the Force Butterfly that fell into their laps. They put Jango in the cell because he tried to kill one of them. They’re gonna try and get him back and there’s gonna be misunderstandings and tension and angst. The dissidence of what he once was and what he became, him coming to terms with what a version of him did, having to come with terms to the fact that the clones don’t see him as family when he does.
It’s a great mess and would probably make for a very interesting analyst of clones and of a Jango from before he was dick. The man who he is then would never have thought that he would make people, in his mind sons and family, and willingly let them be turned to canon fodder. I’m not gonna write that. This was just a thought that struck me

So I finished reading Howl's Moving Castle recently and I haven't been able to stop thinking of an obikin au for it.
Obviously, we've got vain, pretty boy Anakin as Howl; the chosen one who is believed to be the strongest wizard currently alive. Dramatic. Would absolutely freak out over his hair situation. Uses the force for convenience. We can make the Michael/Markle apprentice be Ahsoka. Idk who would be Calcifer yet, but it's gotta be a character that Anakin would believably make a contract with and give his heart to... maybe Rex?
Anyway, Obi-Wan would be Sophie, turning into Old Ben Kenobi after being cursed. He's always felt like an old soul. Matured faster than he should have. Doesn't think Anakin would ever be interested in him. Obi-Wan's "sisters" that Anakin flirts with are his fellow Jedi, so like Aayla or Tiplee and Tiplar. OR maybe in this au, Obi-Wan was never trained as a Jedi. He was the eldest in his generation of younglings, never was selected to be a padawan and went to the AgriCorps instead. Being a farmer is the mundane life that he thought he was meant for, in the similar way Sophie thought she belonged to that hat shop.
Has anyone read or written this au already? I would really love to read it, idk that I have the skills to write this myself 😩

Who is CC-1226?
At the end of The Solitary Clone, Crosshair is sent to his new commander - someone we don't see or know anything about except the number. So who is this guy? I brainstormed some options.
1. He's just some guy.
Let's get this out of the way because it is the most boring yet most likely one, CC-1226 is just a new character that filled in a needed spot as Crosshair's commander and there's not much else to him. As a possible slightly advanced version, we get confirmation that he's the same as the CT-1226 that had a mention in the legends continuity, making him just some guy but with a zesty twist for the hardcore fans.
2. A small name TCW commander
This would let them do an easy tie in and elicit a few feels for those that might recognize them from previous arcs. Most of them have CC numbers already canonized but there are a few that have no number and no known whereabouts - some that I've found are Blackout from Cat and Mouse, Doom from the chip arc (possible good candidate here, since he served with Tiplee and Tiplar and that adds a subtle layer of angst that he was there for all of this going down the first time) and Commander Monnk from the Mon Cala arc. There are probably more floating around out there that aren't either dead or already numbered.
3. Boil
Overly cruel theory that would hurt me personally. We don't know his CT number and he could have gotten a promotion at some point to make him a CC. My logic here is that we already made Waxer sad as fuck why not pile the tragedy on Boil too? Unlikely theory but I enjoy it in a terrible way.
4. Howzer
Personal favorite theory and one I've brought up before - last we saw Howzer he was being arrested and taken into Empire custody only to never be heard from again. And since then, we've had clones turn up ultra brainwashed.
We don't know his serial number, we don't know where he is now, and he has a connection to Crosshair through them having worked together. This would be a clean but horrible way to tie up a loose thread still lingering from season one. Would make me cry. Favorite theory that I despise. Its dangerous because it could certainly happen and might be the second most likely after the "Just some guy" one.

I figured out how to make symbols with a background!!!
This is the theoretical symbol of Doom's Unit - an unspecified unit of Clone Troopers under the command of Commander Doom, and Generals Tiplee and Tiplar.
(I found old depictions of Doom, and thought to myself - I gotta make something for this guy's troopers. SO here it is. I'm sure the motif has been done before, but it's all in good fun, anyway.)

/taps fingers on desk/
If even ONE of my prompts gets the @rexwalker-week selection, heck, even if it doesn't—I think I am going to write my ARCformers AU. Obviously, abridged.
Is it because I want to weave to the reader the image of Obi-Wan pecking through the Negotiator's cargo hold until he finds the one crate BigCat!Cody has flopped himself in, his whiskers down in a datapad reading a report? Or, at least until Obi-Wan changes it to a stimulating app that Cody's feline brain cannot help but BAP at—he's gonna catch those little fishies. What about the image of a tiny red fox skittering through the alleyways of Coruscant, listening in on a Separatist spy? Maybe there is the howl that cuts through a frozen wasteland, before the 104th barrels in to the rescue, with a large wolf watching from the rear (this is pack leader behavior)? There is also the image of Capybara Bly wading through the water, patiently guiding the little mitey alien children to safety? Maybe there is a massive jungle cobra slithering through the vines after the Tiplee and Tiplar sisters?
Sure. Those are great. However...
Mostly, I want to tell the image of—
Metal scraped across the floor as the hilt skid across the sleek floor panels. In the dark, there was only the blue of the blade to cast its light into the shadows. Further and further it slid, faster than its bearer could reflexively reach out towards it, its momentum continued to fling it towards the sharp ledge. The greater the distance his saber went, the more into shadow it became. Soon it would drop into the dark. Then, it was gone. Which is just fine: Anakin was quick thinking—he always thought of something else to do. But, most importantly: He wasn't alone. He had the Force and... like many of his Jedi brethren, he had his friend. There were those with scales, with fur... His? His had feathers. It was a good thing because momentum had tossed Anakin right after his lightsaber. The sides of the reactor shaft were too smooth for either of his fingers to grip onto, and the drop was far too deep. He knew the sound when large, powerful wings stirred up the stale air. Around his right arm, large talons gripped onto him and slowed his descent. He saw the blue-tipped feathers beat against gravity, and halt his fall. Quickly, swiftly, Anakin reached his other hand down beyond his drop, and re-summoned his blade into his hand. Only then did he look up, and see the face of his friendly, feathered rescuer. A white-faced bird of prey blinked at him. Boyishly, the young Knight smiled at the sight of the bird's face. Only briefly did he get to see the little blue feather tufts stand upright, where another animal's ears might be. Anakin could admit that those little fufts of feathers would be cute when they were quirked at him curiously with interest. They weren't always cute, like when the bird's mind was preoccupied. Soon, they were laid flat against the bird's head, just as it reared its neck upwards, where it peered on approach to the ledge. Anakin knew he was heavy, even for a bird of this size. Besides, the raptor was still a juvenile, had a little more growing to do. Right when the upward stroke of the bird's wing tips crested over the ledge's edge, the blue floofs were laid flat against the bird's head, yet the lower neck feathers ruffled like they were jaw muscles bulged along a strong, tan-skinned jaw. Black and gold peaked under the white-headed bird, its beak stretched wide as it screeched loud enough to make his ear drums feel like they'd shatter. Shatter like the joy of his heart ready to burst into his chest. Unceremoniously, he dropped onto the floor, left to fend for himself as he rolled himself onto his feet. "Thanks, Rex!" He got a scalding shriek as the bird went on its way.
But also, the sight of Anakin reaching his right arm outward, and a large harpy-eagle sized raptor coming in with claws stretched out. The feel of wind being stroked into his face, while the young bird settled its weight on his arm.

This is not the first set of Jedi blood siblings we see, we all remember Tiplar and Tiplee, as well as Adi and Stass (which is only from reference books, not in any canon story yet, iirc), but it furthers the pattern of how Jedi aren’t against blood family, but that the Jedi are their family and both of those twins will understand what it means to be a Jedi, what that commitment to their sacred duty means.

I kinda need to know Where Jedi Babies Come From
They come from all over the Galaxy :D that one is a bit of a weirder one. It's meant to be a collection of shorter fics exploring the circumstances of various Jedi's coming to the Temple. It's mostly from the pov of the parents so it's pretty bittersweet? Giving your child away is an enormous sacrifice so it's not a decision made lightly. Rn the one fic that's been worked on the most is about a baby Nautolan born on Coruscant who keeps reaching out into the Force to try and connect with other Jedi and the mom is very overwhelmed. It's meant to represent the more 'normal' cases so it's gone through a few different iterations but as of now it's about Knox (purple and white Nautolan Padawan from TCW), his aunt is the one who doesn't want his mom to give him away, and a freshly knighted Kit Fisto is the one who brings him to the Order. Could change again though.
Other than him, I wanted to explore Stass and Adi, Tiplar and Tiplee, Sar (Depa's sister), the younglings from the Ilum arc, maybe Rael, and other interesting characters with potentially different story arcs.

002 for Doom and/or Hound?
YES (Doom)
How I feel about this character: I love him. Baby boy. Zero canon characterisation so I give him (vem) my OWN
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Bly!!!! Bly Bly Bly, and Aayla. Gree. Rex! Tiplee and Tiplar for spice
My non-romantic OTP for this character: my own OC :margehide: A-39 Nakel. Or in canon Rex. Man’s doesn’t canonically interact with anyone really does he
My unpopular opinion about this character: idk? I never see anyone really talk about him. My characterisation for him is the quiet and deadly type. Not perfect or an overachiever but competent and driven.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: More. Of. Him. Gimme
My OTP: Doom/Bly <3
My cross over ship: no
A headcanon: ve/vem/ver/vis pronouns. Large scar across left side of face from a training accident (this I think I adopted from Pax). Loves speeder bikes :)
