I might juse be a little slow, but in your drabble about the yautja guy giving you the cloak pelt thingy, does he like you and in denial, or is he just grown a little fonder for us after we helped him?

RAHHH IVE BEEN WAITING FOR AN ASK LIKE THIS!!

Don't worry, I'm still new to writing about intentions and stuff, and it doesn't always translate well in my writing. I'm more than happy to explain! I'm actually really happy that you want a more in-depth explanation.

So, T'ainkui, the yautja in said drabble, is just a tough nut to crack. I've seen a lot of people characterise him as "tsundere" which was not my intention, but hey, I can't police people on how to interpret my works.

I personally don't enjoy the term "tsundere" because I feel like it boxes in characters that should have more depth to them. And I definitely see T'ainkui as a character with a lot of conflicting feelings and depth to him.

He's a character that is very slow to warm up to others, especially those he deems as lesser. Weakness is not tolerated in yautja society, and he's on the more assertive side of that mentality. It's a mentality that's been beaten into him since birth.

Like I stated previously, he takes pride in being a traditional yautja.

He's very much conservative in his culture.

He believes that since you haven't proven yourself to be worthy yet, he thinks that you're a stain on his clan. So, when you do prove yourself, he finds himself intrigued by that. Not full-on attracted yet, but curious. However, those fleeting feelings of curiosity are quickly squashed down by his own pride and prejudice.

He is not in denial just yet. These are still the beginning stages of the slow burn relationship. Right now, he's only dismissing these more positive feelings because he's still getting to know the reader and he's already got a lot of bias stored up against their kind. That kind of generalised view doesn't vanish out of nowhere.

Which is something I will expand on when T'ainkui actually does start to develop feelings. This big boy has a lot of angst potential that I can and will exploit.

The reason he was mad that the human wasn't wearing his gift was because he put a lot of effort into it only for it to go underappreciated from his point of view. When the reality was that the planet was too hot for the human to wear a thick fur cloak until it started getting colder.

T'ainkui is in no way, shape, or form a reliable narrator. I don't typically write any of the characters to be reliable narrators because they don't know the full story. I do.

But you aren't slow for not understanding! I think about five steps ahead and forget to write those steps down lmao. If anything, I encourage more questions like these! Please let me yap more about my oc lore.

I am so excited to see Daeron in S3. I have a ton of headcanons about his life in Oldtown, and I want S3 to give us insight into his relationship with his mother. Why do you think Alicent sent him to ward in the first place? I have this theory that Otto saw in Daeron what he had seen in Alicent when he chose her over Gwayne to take to KL with him: an excellent political player. So sending Daeron to ward with the Hightowers could shape him into an important asset for their cause... any other thoughts as to why Alicent would send him far away from her while she kept the rest of her children closer?

I hope we get to see the relationship between them in Season 3. We know so little about him from Season 2. It would be nice if we could see Alicent and Daeron together in a scene with a long conversation. I really want to see their dynamic.

I love your theory; it makes sense to me too. I hope we get more insight into it in the next season. I’ve also been wondering why Alicent sent Daeron to Oldtown. Here are the theories I’ve been thinking about so far. Honestly, they’re all kind of connected, some ideas overlap, but here they are:

Note: Some theories might not sound fully logical because the show hasn’t told us when or at what age Alicent sent Daeron to Oldtown + I haven't finished the book (Fire and Blood).

I. Things Got Out of Hand

The war or at least the tension between both sides had already started. It wasn’t violent yet, but maybe it was risky for Alicent to let her young son stay in King’s Landing. So, in this theory, she sends him away because she’s worried for his safety. He’s too young. It’s better for him to stay far from the capital and probably from her opponent. Let’s say, better to keep him far away from Dragonstone, on the other side of the continent.

II. Intense Atmosphere

Even if it’s not declared war yet, the tension in King’s Landing may have become too stressful. Maybe she sent him away because she didn’t want him growing up in that kind of environment. Again, he’s too young. Perhaps she didn’t trust anyone there anymore. She may have feared for his safety (again).

III. Her Own Capabilities

Maybe she wanted to raise him to be a “good person”. It seems like she values kindness more now, especially when you compare him to her other sons 😂. Maybe she trusted Gwayne to raise him. Or perhaps she felt like she wasn’t in the right state of mind to raise Daeron herself. She doubts herself a lot, we all can see it. She’s clearly been struggling with her own emotion and choices. Maybe she thought it would be better for Daeron to grow up away from her. I think the best way to explain this feeling to you is to offer this sentence since it reminds me of that scene from Game of Thrones:

“She was good. From her first breath, she was so sweet. I don’t know where she came from. She was nothing like me. No meanness, no jealousy, just good. I thought if I could make something so good, so pure… maybe I’m not a monster.” — Cersei Lannister

It’s kind of the same feeling, or at least a similar one.

IV. Political Player (personally love this theory)

This one’s similar to your theory, but I’ll add my own adjustments. Maybe Otto wanted to balance Hightower power between King’s Landing and Oldtown. You might ask: why not Gwayne? Well, Gwayne is Alicent’s brother, and probably the eldest son of Otto, yes, but Daeron is Alicent’s (queen) son and Viserys’s son (former king) and recent king's younger brother (Aegon II). So in my opinion, Daeron holds more political power for the Greens. Maybe not now, but definitely in the future.

V. Avoiding the Same Fate

This theory is inspired by yours. Maybe Alicent didn’t want Daeron to suffer the same fate she did, to be used as a political tool by Otto. To be a pawn, tossed around from one hand to another.

Do all of these make sense?

So, come to the last question: why would Alicent send him far away from her while she kept the rest of her children closer?

I. Aegon & Aemond

I think they are all grown up now, and their rage is too strong to let them out of her sight. Just like how Aegon went to war, or how Aemond burned Aegon down. They are too difficult to control at this point because of their age (perhaps), their rage, pride, and stubbornness. (According to historical analysis, men tend to wage war. So 🤷‍♀️😂)

II. Helaena

As we all know that her mind is broken, and she seems to be Alicent’s favorite child, or at least one she cares about deeply. She is so vulnerable and innocent to this world. I think Alicent is very worried about her. It’s better for Alicent to keep her close, to protect her from harm. After all, she was her only daughter. I think the dynamics between a mother and an only daughter is underlying in here.

I wanted to draw something symbolic of my first step of making these characters into a proper concept. My lovely ginger degenerate veteran hunters of undead and vampires. The Unholy Trinity. These characters have been my absolute guilty pleasure to work on for years now, and they have elevated a lot of games Ive played trough my crossover shenanigans ive done with them. And while I still have a lot of plans to work on comics within their own lore/realm (almost impossible with a one man show that barely makes any money in general) but I believe Ill find the way

So, a big thank you to all the people that have been enjoying them and their shenanigans, my number one objective with them has always been just vibe based on what Id like to see them do, so while my intention isnt making them appealing to an audience, I appreciate those that got attached to them one way or another.

So because of the length of the new DW seasons, Ncuti has been doctor for I believe only 5 more episodes than Christopher Eccleston. Now I love 9 he is one of my favourite Doctors I think it’s an absolute crime he didn’t get more time and the situation around that is criminal too, but I’m gonna put that aside for a second.

A Doctor who has had 2 companions, the return of multiple major Classic Who characters, references to the MASSIVE lore changes during the previous era, as well as involvement in currently two specials has FIVE more episodes than one of the shortest incarnations of the Doctor.

Now I can’t find anything concrete that Ncuti’s run is ending after this season, only comments that he hasn’t been ‘axed’ but no dispelling of the rumours of regeneration (or show cancellation lets be real), but if he is leaving??? That feels so wrong.

The length of these seasons is appalling we don’t get enough time to develop ANYONE properly, almost every episode seems to be out competing the others, and the huge classic Who things the entire fandom is talking about have taken place over what is to be THREE episodes. Obviously they’ll likely continue into possibly further seasons but now? With Ncuti? With Varada? It’s three episodes.

Eight episodes will NEVER be enough to tell stories like these. Longer seasons allow for an episode or two that feel a little out of character because we have enough to come back around with whereas eight episodes doesn’t do that - Belinda’s immediate forgiveness and affection after seeing the Doctor torture someone is the best example so far, she literally Would Not Act Like That.

I hope this isn’t the end for Ncuti, him as the Doctor is what’s keeping me watching every week because I LOVE where he’s taking it. I just wish the plot and scripts allowed for more exploration of his version of the character and his wants and wishes (lol) and Ruby and Belinda’s character arcs (if you can even call them that).

I hope I eat my words I hope he gets more time I hope characters start to feel fully fleshed out. Mostly I hope we see the end of 8 episode seasons and go back to actual creative freedom and not a streaming set up show. I hope a lot of things.
