i'm just feeling some kind of ways about the positive aspects being completely dismissed in favour of endless criticisms, some deserved and some not.

the same thing happened with inquisition back when it released.

it's funny when i see large parts of the fandom - and even outside of that - now getting misty-eyed over it.

i do remember all the thinkpieces back then on how the inquisitor is actually the worst protagonist, the companions the weakest, the tone too goofy, the plot and chars too railroaded, the lore and stories retcon'd and/or ignored, and so on and so.

i talked about this before and i suppose it's the cycle of bioware games and the bioware fandom at this point. in additions to that, we sadly live in a time now where grifters picked up on it and i do genuinely think that influenced the decision process to some degree.

bc i'm obsessed with au ideas imma just start posting about some stuff i've came up with and promptly forgotten bc idk if i'll ever actually say them.

so this one is basically a fantasy au where scar is a vex adventurer who robs explores old/abandoned places and sells the loot, due to his vex heritage and a special charm from cub (also a vex), he is immune to most curses so he doesn't have to worry much about typical mortal curses so long as he doesn't keep cursed items on him for too long, and he can just get a magician to check them before he sells them (most pawnshops have a solid solution for checking for curses because otherwise it would be so easy to get cursed).

One day, he picks up a cursed amulet along with some of his other loot, which has no major negative effects, but the guy at the pawn shop lets him know it's like super magical, enough that they don't wanna hold onto it because it could get their business investigated if someone found it. Scar keeps it around while he figures out how to deal with it, since it could fetch a pretty penny if he can keep it out of sight from the magical guards (who would probably arrest scar on the spot if he got figured out bc he's vex)

anyways scar chills with it for a bit but then he gets haunted by the amulet's cursed resident, Grian! unfortunately this spooky figure has virtually no memory prior to his time in the amulet, so scar has to just deal with this spooky bird ghost in his jewelry.

anyways naturally he gets discovered by the guards and such and he has to get out of there and figure out a way to deal with this situation without prompting an 'international' incident (bc there's a high probability that scar getting arrested as a vex with a spooky evil gem would be a perfect prompt for the army to launch a xenophobic war against vex despite them having nothing to do with it).

The thing that scared David when it came to taking care of both Anastasia and Chris was feeding... And not the feeding you think!

It was just eating in general- especially when they started to ween off of milk onto baby food and blood. Baby vampires tend to have quite an appetite when developing and he had such an anxiety of choking its not even funny. 😅

It was actually kind of hard to spot this little fear since David seemed the most collected and calm through the early months of parenthood... But Chrysta started to notice how he'd always stare very laser focused while she fed Annie or he'd lean or rock/shift uncomfortably a lot in his chair while never breaking eye contact when she would feed Chris.

And the second one of them would cough cause they got some milk or blood down the wrong pipe, or they gagged on the spoon- even if they made a face at a new texture or taste of baby food, all Chrysta had to do was blink and David was already up on his feet quickly pacing toward her and perching himself behind her to watch or aid.

"Is she choking?"

"No, David, she's just got a little food down the wrong tube."

"Her face looks red."

"It's her natural blush, baby."

"Make her eat slower. Kid's giving me a damn heart attack."

"I can't control that hun-"

Literally anytime Tiffany cried Paul would start panicking. Was she hungry? Hurt? Fussy? Was it his fault?

As soon as he saw that bottom lip start quivering, and her eyes start to get glossy, he's already calling for Chrysta nervously.

He can't help but feel guilty afterward, sometimes he feels like he's leaving all the hard stuff for Chrysta to figure out cause he's too scared for the first time in his life of messing up. 🥺

But Chrysta was able to help him through it. Anytime he'd come to her for help, she'd simply walk him through what to do while letting him get experience till he felt a little more confident. He's much better now at it, even if he still goes into panic mode for a couple of minutes before the Daddy senses kick in.

"I don't think I'm cut out for this, Mamas..."

"You're doing just fine, Paul. See? She was just crying for her Dad."

"I guess..."

"Just wait, once those daddy senses kick in, you'll be able to handle it like a champ."

Legit everything about being a girl-dad terrified this poor man. Sure, he's raised Laddie as one of his own, and even besides that he's pretty good with kids- but when Jennifer was born, boy was he a wreck- especially due to the fact Chrysta was gonna be recovering a lot for the first few months after some birth issues.

I mean, this little girl fit in both palms of his large hands, and she was so fragile and delicate he was afraid of even breathing on her in fear she'd just break like porcelain in his arms.

He was used to being more rough and playful with Laddie, and his other coven members too, but now that he had a "little lady" on his hands, he was so scared of even letting her getting a scratch on the knee.

He was so cautious and careful of his baby girl- even to this day! Just watch this tall, quiet, brooding, and intimidating vampire go into papa bear mode when his little girl comes running up to him with tears in her eyes saying he needs to kiss the ouchy on her finger better. 🥺😭

I've mentioned or stated before that Kat is a climber- on other things other than using Marko as her personal jungle gym.

You should watch this weird-footed toddler climb the walls of the hotel, and crawl upside down from the rafters while running away from Marko, thinking it's the funnest game to play when daddy wakes up!

Marko has different thoughts on this 'game'... 😬 wanna see Marko freak out for the first time in his life? Watch him scramble around with his arms stretched out in fear of Katherine above slipping and falling all the way down. Thankfully, she never has.

If there's one thing he wishes she never got, it was his reckless nature and dumbass energy.😔

Hello there! I would be delighted to answer any questions you have for me.

2. So, how have you and s/i been? What have you two been up to recently?

Neptis and I have been good actually, although a bit tired at the moment. We've been doing missions with our daemon friends, taking out as many exorcists as we can despite the protest of our own defected exorcist. Traveling from region to region can be very exhausting.

4. So, like, how is s/i as a person?

They're one of the greatest malaks I've ever had the care to meet. Neptis is humble, kind, a total sweetheart. But on the flip side: a fierce fighter, strong-willed, and determined to not let anything get in their way, including my own curse. The crew and I are grateful to have them on board, and I am proud to call them my partner, my first mate.

5. Any upcoming plans with s/i? Like in the next coming week or even month maybe?

The biggest plans we have coming up are treasure hunting for artifacts around the Swordian Peninsula soon since Neptis heard rumors of an old ancient statue out there. Can't wait to see what we find.
