Thinking about the origins or potential origins of the exiles rules! At least the ones I can take a shot at.

Susanoo, to rend authority: Not sure, maybe it has something to do with the belief that Susanoo intended to usurp Amaterasu when he went to visit her.

Yoshitsune, to rend distance: Possibly from the legend where he leaps over eight boats to prevent an enemy from successfully committing seppuku.

Ainurakkur, to rend stasis: Possibly because he's described as being wreathed in smoke an flame in mythology, thus melting the frozen world. He also taught the Ainu in legends and knowledge leads to change.

Shaytan, to rend gravity: Not sure, it could simply be because he was an angel or it could also be related to his fall. At least in Housamo, it has something to do with the hierarchy of Eden and Gehenna (with the gravity cutter he was at the top without it he's at the bottom).

(Iblis, to rend thoughts: Okay, this one is just Shaytan and isn't 100% confirmed yet, but I want to mention it anyways. Possibly based on the belief that Iblis' mission is to tempt mankind and guide them towards damnation, and that bad or intrusive thoughts originate from him.)

Nüwa, to rend the heavens: Comes from a combination of the myth where she repaired the heavens and her role in "Investiture of the Gods" where she's the instigator of a war.

Eurynome, to rend bloodlines: Comes from the myth where Gaia created an adamantine sickle and Cronus used it to castrate his father, Uranus.

Cthulhu, to rend reality/dreams: Comes from his ability to telepathically communicate with people through their dreams in stories.

Lugh, to rend gaps: Meaning to hit someone's weak spot. Comes from the myth where he was able to strike Balor directly in his evil eye to defeat him.

Quetzalcoatl, to rend the ground: Possibly from the myth where he burns himself alive and disappears from the City of Tolec after Tezcatlipoca got him drunk and he slept with a priestess.

Asura, to rend identity: Not sure, maybe it has something to do with asuras' multifaceted personalities or their many faces.

???, to rend time: Can't comment without knowing who they are, but they were most likely a time traveler.
