Plant of the Day
Sunday 16 July 2017
The bees seem to adore Allium sphaerocephalon (round-headed garlic) which is a small-headed, late flowering ornamental onion. It can be grown in borders with a freely drained soil or in meadows. In the background of some of these images are a beautifully textured, organic-shaped pergola woven from Salix (willow) by the talented willow artist Tom Hare.

Weaving a Silo !?
🌱 at Rhs Chelsea.. on ‘The Resilience Garden’ ,designed by Sarah Eberle for Forestry England. “Yes.” Says Hare .
Another opportunity to work alongside the wonderful Sarah Eberle on a show garden .Remember the Artisan garden in 2015 for Breast cancer charity ‘The Haven’ with The Giant Oak leaf Seat?(link below , but read on first !)
🌱This time.. on main avenue, my brief was to weave the interior of an old grain silo .What would become a Garden Studio in her Gold Medal (hot of the press news) ‘Resilience Garden’ 2019.
Marking 100yrs of Foresty and highlighting the need to diversify tree planting .The garden also prompts conversations around biosecurity , for the protection of our future landscapes .
The weave itself was quite challenging , how to pin back to the cylindrical walls of the silo ,without to much extra steel work and clutter .
My solution was to tap in to the existing bolts with a pre-fab’d fixings , something to get purchase behind and to create tension in the weave .
The movement suggests a vine or similar that has taken root and climbed its way through the corregated silo walls , wrapping light fixings, window and door frames .
The Garden is an Absolute Triumph.
Congratulations to Sarah Eberle and Crocus Landscapes🏆🌱

I made a change today at @crown.brew and decided to go with a Blueberry Lavendar Lemonade. Let me just say that YOU need slow down, try it, and have your day become an explosion of opportunity. . Also snagged one of these cool new Crown Brew Coffee glasses that will definitely have a dual purpose of #CraftBeer in it. . Plant of the Day
Sunday 9 July 2017
These cabbages were the stars of this show garden at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Hampton Court Flower Show, Surrey, UK. They need a sunny site and firm soil, ideally enriched in the autumn with well-rotted manure or garden compost. The species Brassica oleracea (cabbage) was thought to be first domesticated, before 1000 BC, by the Celts of central and Western Europe, so children have been told to “eat up those greens” for a few millennia!

The backstory for my photos: Medieval AU
Tom Riddle was the bastard prince of Slytherin, a large but poor country. When he ascended to the throne after the suspiciously deaths of his grandfather and uncle, the late King and his rightful heir, he had changed his name to Voldemort.
After securing his control, Voldemort had started an all out war with other countries, breaking decades of peaceful time. Under his sovereign, Slytherin prospered and flourished into the greatest empire, ruling over other countries with an iron fist after the surrender of Ravenclaw and a few minor conflicts with Hufflepuff. The only land that kept giving Voldemort trouble was the once great kingdom Gryffindor; they refused to surrender, and dragging the unnecessary war with him for years even though everyone could see Slytherin would win in the end.
Harry Potter was an orphan of war in Gryffindor, there were many orphans like him after years of conflict, his parents had both died protecting their country. He was bitter and resentful towards the monarchy, and wished to do anything for peace. He became one of the candidates that Gellert Grindelwald, the trusted Royal Advisor of the Gryffindor ruler, had recuited to train with the hope of defeating Voldemort in the shadow.
The usual training required to make the best assassins would teach these orphans every skills necessary to lower the enemies' defense and murder them. But Voldemort was a hard man to kill than most, for he trusted no one, as even his oldest allies didn't know much about him. So Grindelwald wanted to train a new kind of assassins, one that could get close and intimate with their enemies, to become their friends, or partners, and even lovers. Become trustworthy enough to be allowed in their bed and even get to sleep by their side.
After extensive training and selection, only a few of over one hundred of orphans managed to complete their schooling and ready to be send to Slytherin. Harry was among the chosen ones, even though Grindelwald had wanted to fail him. Grindelwald thought Harry was too emotional and hot tempered to be able to fool Voldemort. But Harry was the king Dumbledore's favorite, the old ruler believed in Harry's good heart and trusted that he would do the right thing when needed.
They were both right and wrong.
Grindelwald was right that Harry wasn't able to fool Voldemort for long. The ruthless warlord of Slytherin figured out the new beautiful servant in his palace was a spy only after a month, but Harry's fiery spirit was what actually saved him. Voldemort enjoyed teasing the little brat a bit too much that he was reluctant to execute the boy; not to mention he had never seen eyes as pretty as Harry's, like real emeralds, and he liked shinny jewels a lot he didn't want to snuff out the life in those green eyes.
Dumbledore's trust in Harry's good heart was right, but he failed to account for the fact that a prefect liar had to burry some truth in their lies, and in making Voldemort vulnerable to him, Harry also had to open his heart. Voldemort was cruel man, but slowly and reluctantly, Harry began to fall for the softer sides of Tom Riddle still existed deep inside his enemy. And when the final time came to make a choice, Harry couldn't betray someone he loved, who just might love him back, it wouldn't be the right thing to do.
.
.
.
After his parents' deaths, Harry had been lost without a home for so long, he never thought he would end up finding a new home in the arms of a merciless ruler. But Tom, despite his many flaws, did love Harry in his own overwhelming and possessive ways. All Harry ever wanted was to belong and be loved back, how could he give up on Tom?
Voldemort was a monster made by Tom Riddle in his quest for power and wealth, but even though he had the world in his grasp by the time he met Harry, he never once felt truly loved by anyone. He didn't know the love that he thought was a weakness could be so addictive and unstoppable. The force of love Harry had for him was great enough to make the boy turned his back on his mission, betrayed his masters and his country. How could Voldemort resist that? Love like that was power, and he was just a selfish and covetous creature at heart.
In the end, Voldemort kept Harry and Dumbledore lost the war, but the Slytherin ruler had refrained from slaughtering half of the defeated country population, only executed some royal members while putting the rest of his opponents in prison and allowed the civilians to continue with their lives.
In the continuous years, with Harry as a consort by his side, Voldemort learnt to be more lenient towards his people and be a relatively acceptable tyrant, so it was actually a nice ending for everyone.
