These boys, this team, this sport all have a special place in my heart. I am sad that I won’t get to see this particular team play live as two of them retired from the national team but regardless of that I will continue to support all of them no matter what. Tokyo Olympics is when I heard of them, only learnt three of the members then and it was the three I saw everywhere. Yuyuran aka Yuki Ishikawa, Yuji Nishida and Ran Takahashi.

Finally learnt the rest of the team this year and supported them through the Paris Olympics but was really sad with the end results. I know they played their best in that last match and I was still so so proud of them from putting up the fight they did against Italy.

I hope that one day I will get to see them play volleyball live and not just on a screen, if not all of them then some of them 🫶🏽

disclaimer: I've only transcribed a few parts for the radio show so there might be errors in a few parts. dressing park vol. 27 📝 usually they're at the studio but this time, they're on free mode. and because he wanted to do it, koudai did an ambushed interview. first ambushed interviewee: tomita kentaro Tomi: well this is the third time, it started 3 years ago Koudai: during festival film Tomi: Yes, that's it. now this is the 3rd time. YOUR FACE IS SMALL! taiyu: my head isn't small... probably koudai: taiyu, this is your 2nd time in handsome live, how was it different this year? taiyu: from before we had seniors and this year we had new members. for us in the 2nd year, i hope they would come and cheer for us too. koudai: also in youtube, your unit is *bachi bachi taiyu: we really are *bachi bachi. but this time it may not feel like it but for the audience to enjoy I think we really need to be *bachi bachi koudai: is there a member that's not *bachi bachi taiyu: our unit itself is *bachi bachi but the members aren't, there isn't anyone that stands out that's what I think --- according to what i've read *bachi bachi = cracking, sparking --- last ambushed interviewee: niihara taisuke koudai: what do you think of handsome? taisuke: i've watched last year's handsome live. it was amazing during that time, that moment when it's sparkling and the fans also release the same feelings. somehow the ambiance felt like they are not just some ordinary actors. if it was handsome, i think it's something that isn't possible so it was an amazing dream for me to have a time like that. taisuke: ....at first during that time because it will be my first time i thought that maybe i can do this too. last year when i was there, i can't picture myself being there at the center and that probably i can't even do this so i was worried. i was really worried, i thought "would i be fine?". during rehearsals likewise i got along with koudai-kun so i was really hmm everyone was warm to a newbie like me koudai: that's a given taisuke: (everyone is) really so kind, its like a family, its like we're doing club activities. so this is handsome, it's warm feeling in here. koudai: really? i'm relieved by that. somehow when we got new members, it's like we got young kids. last year it's first time we had one and i thought how would they handle it like the stress. koudai:... like taisuke, your specialty is dance ...when you came i'm not worried at all taisuke: i'm really happy koudai: there's nothing to worry about taisuke: when koudai-kun is here i don't feel worried at all because i love you koudai: (laughs) thank you, i felt a little embarassed --- taisuke x koudai uwuness ヾ(≧▽≦*)o
