Are you aware of the recent drama about Joss? Apparently, he is accused of being a bigot and a misogynist, even back when he was at Domundi. Some people are already saying they won't watch My Golden Blood because of that. I wonder why Ark and Jojo would work with him if he really was against the queer community?

It’s disappointing for sure.

For those who somehow missed this news yesterday, fans discovered that Joss follows a bunch of right wing media bigots and misogynists such as Candace Owens and Andrew Tate on Instagram. In response to that, some clips from Joss’s time at Domundi resurfaced where he and Zee were sexually harassing women on camera by going up to them and asking if they could “touch their milk” (meaning their breasts). I have no context for those clips so I’m unsure if it was something Domundi put them up to or if they were doing it on their own, but I found it triggering nevertheless. You can watch a bit of that here if you would like.

I think something people fall prey to these days is thinking that just because a person has bigoted beliefs they act bigoted all the time but as with anything, there’s always nuance. No one is entirely good just like no one is entirely bad. I highly doubt any sane person would bring these types of opinions into their very gay workplace—especially when talking to their very gay supervisors—so it’s likely Jojo and Ark don’t know. And even if they did, people are often willing to offer leniency to those they know personally. I remember Jojo reposting Pawin’s non-apology about beating his girlfriend and he only took it down when people called him out on it.

I also think support for such bigoted beliefs—even at GMMTV—is more widespread than we like to think because somehow Foei still has a job despite posting anti-trans rhetoric constantly.

For me personally, I’ve blacklisted Joss’s tag on here (which is what I do for all the actors who piss me off), but I haven’t quite decided what to do about My Golden Blood yet. On the one hand, Joss’s face now makes me viscerally angry, but on the other, it’s a BL made by an out queer man I want to support. It’s unfortunate and I do wish GMMTV would vet these people better but there’s really only so much they can do. Like legally.
