Having a lot of self-doubts with art right now, spending a lot of time just practicing and not really finishing anything, but this one got completed. A tormentor, for practice. It's really fun to study anatomy from creatures whose anatomy is absolutely fucked up.

Plus a little speedpaint, because why not.

Forgot to add this earlier, but another mention of "wet soil." This time by Banshee when you finish the final catalyst for Revision Zero.

"They found something on the Moon…" he says, distractedly. "K1 anomaly. Smells like wet soil."

This fairly mysterious phrase has been mentioned twice before, both times in association with something unknown. First was in Black Armory papers as "wet earth" and then in Above All Else lore book from Plunder. Both mentioned here in this post.

These things that smell of wet earth/soil have been mentioned in relation to the Lunar Pyramid twice and on Earth once. I've been thinking about what this might be referencing and I have no clue and it's also strange that the Eliksni had no clue either. They would've recognised the Hive so clearly these beings are something else entirely.

I'm now thinking if it could be tormentors. Probably not what it was originally meant to be, but now that it's mentioned twice in a row just before Lightfall and the introduction of this new enemy...
