February 17, 1988 - Straight From The Heart. 35 years of the Regine Césaire!!! The fashion designer from Paris and Paris was her original name as a prototype. For the third year, Hasbro was trying to make the line more inclusive. After the 1986 African-American Shana, Asian-American Aja, Jem’s Hispanic boyfriend Rio, Raya Jem’s new Hispanic drummer in 1987, the 1988 Regine was to be Jem’s new mulatto (mixed ethnicity) friend and would have been the first in representation in a doll line. Fitting that her introduction landed in the middle of Black History Month. The mythological Craig Phillips doll. It was rumored that Hasbro planned on having a contest in which ever doll (Raya or Craig Phillips) won the contest would become Jem’s new drummer in the cartoon. The rumor was completely untrue and until 2007 we never knew who this male head was. But a Supermaster head mold surfaced with “2, SM, RIO 87” written on it. So this head should have been a new head for the 1987 Glitter’n Gold Rio, to go with the new 1987 smiling Jem. In 1988 when Hasbro’s smaller Maxie doll needed a boyfriend this head was a perfect size to go with the new doll line. One of the factors that manufactured Jem dolls ended up selling off unused and rejected Holograms and Misfits, along with this unused Rio 87 head. Integrity Toys 2020 Perfect Match 3-pack with Rio and Jem featured Riot in this fashion which was also used in commercial bumpers. The member of the Stingers you may have never realized that you met is Entropy. That was the name Minx gave to her keyboard and was going to have alterations made by Techrat. Entropy dates back to the cancelled Jem cartoon theatrical release, and was in the works to become an episode along with Glitter’n Gold and Talent Search at one point. Those episodes were also elements from the movie. The movie version of Entropy started hypnotizing people when Alex and Alyx Couto of the Mongrels started playing him. Entropy had an interface and a male persona similar to Synergy. He wanted hypnotize the whole world, so of course Jem had to stop him.
