Was anyone else a goodie two shoe growing up? 🙋🏼‍♀️ That’s what going to church three times a week for 20 years will do to ya. 😂. It wasn’t until I met new friends, left home & stopped going to church 3 times a week that I really started to see the world for myself & form my own opinions about things. Now, after a couple years in therapy I am starting to realize all of the lasting effects of how I was raised & the impact of all that time spent in an evangelical church. The smallest things can feel like “acts of rebellion” when you’re told your entire childhood that everyone else is going to hell & every single thing is a sin. I’m 34 years old & still think of what people at my church or my parents are going to think. It’s exhausting. So I guess this post is really just me coming clean, that this girl is a true “rebel soul”. I believe #blacklivesmatter. I believe LGBTQ people deserve the same rights as straight people. I believe our president isn’t worthy of the title. I refuse to live a life of being told I’m not enough & I refuse to live a life of shame and fear mongering. You may think this all makes me a lost soul & that’s fine.
