this story is based on a memory from my senior year of highschool, where during the second to last art club of the year i played my friend's violin after not playing the instrument for around 4 years

#Kirby #Kirby fanart #my art #comic #Metadede #not exactly sure when in the game timeline my comic is set but probably around the time of Return to Dream Land #also the ship isn’t the main focus of the comic it touches more on Meta’s origin and their first meeting but I do ship them lol #and they are a couple in this comic but the comic mostly just covers how Meta Knight arrived on Popstar and how he and Dedede first met #but at this point in my interpretation of the timeline they’re married lol #I’ve seen a lot of people headcanon them as getting married during Kirby Fighters 2 but in my interpretation they get married earlier #in my timeline they started dating around the time of Squeak Squad and they got married around the time of Epic Yarn #and Kirby Fighters 2 is just the two of them celebrating their wedding anniversary lol #not sure when I’ll have the next page of this done but the next one will start getting into Meta’s backstory #Meta Knight #Bandana Dee #Sailor Dee #King Dedede #Knightfall in Dream Land

Lately I've only been wishing to grab a comic about my favorite character and just have a genuinely good time reading it.

#I can't remember the last time I took a Deadpool comic and genuinely had a good time about it #I hate the direction they took with his character and it's so disrespectful that I don't even talk about I don't even think *any* Deadpool #fan genuinely talk about it because were so tired of his kids characterization we all just collectively decided to ignore whatever hell #marvel through at him #but rant aside #it's just–#I am not sure if comic books are fun anymore I don't even know who I am making content for half of the people on my notes haven't touched #comic book and aren't pretending to do so #people who read the comics tend to be so mean or bitter about it that even if you follow most will be angry about something #comic or fan related and I don't know if I can blame them but following that is draining #and as much as I was trying to be a good sport about it you make a post about comic book characters and #and the overwhelming response is 'I don't read the comics but'– following up by a take about them that doesn't even recognize any core #aspect of their personality that you can't even grasp you can't even recognize them #you can't recognize them on tue cannon you can't recognize them on the fannon #and no matter how engaging you try to make content about the fandom people just–*refuse* to read it. And then– they *refuse* to tag fannon #content as fannon #and *refuse* to leave either #Yes we are all having fun but how can a character tag be so so filled with people who have no idea of who they are #how can a character can be properly loved and take care of and have content that respect them if no one makes any attempt to *know them*#and it's disheartening because *comics* are supposed to be fun *fannon are supposed to be fun*#but for aome reason it's really *really* hard to have fun here anymore #I created this page to share my love for the characters I care about and see more content of people who care about them too #but I can't even *find* people who care about them any more and when I do they're all so angry and upset– And I *cant even blame them*#I just... I don't know why I am doing this anymore or for who I am doing this anymore #sorry to vent but it's been a while since I haven't been had a genuinely good time™ enjoying comics #I don't think even people who write those comics enjoy those comics or care about those characters #Sometimes feels like everyone is projecting on those characters rather than *writing about them*. And I can't find them anymore #fanfics used to be about love petters to characters who you love #nowadays seems like a competition to see who makes more funny words with tropes pre-written since 2007 #vent

I’m now more powerful than I have been in eons. And yet... You see, until then I’d had a true quest. A purpose beyond my function and then suddenly, it was over, and I felt disappointed. Let down. Empty. Does that make sense? I was so sure that once I got everything back, I‘d feel good. But in some ways I feel worse than when I started. I feel like... nothing.

#i know its probably not as impactful bc hes not human etc but still the contrast of death enjoying the apple and saying its good for them #and every other instance that dream doesnt/refuses to eat is interesting #the sandman #dream of the endless #morpheus #death of the endless #hob gadling #the hecate #sandman #sandmanedit #thesandmanedit #mine #gif:sandman #ive seen some comic page saying he went to eat (dream food?) after his escape but we didnt see that in the show #quite the opposite - the show goes its way to portray him not eating or drinking anything #even in the 1389 when death says to drink the drink he puts it aside - and that was the time she 'introduced' him to hob #so there might be some pattern about feeling some kind of way and having to find that connection back to humanity? im just guessing here #if there was another meeting with hob i kinda feel we would see him either drink or eat something #its the similar like with the clothing in ep 6 where death wears tank top and hes in almost winter coat #neil said in the ep6 watch party how important was it that no one else actually touched dream until death his sister #so im thinking this might play a bigger role next seasons maybe? i hope we will get to see #food mention

anybody remember the stephanie brown essay I was working on under a research grant fully last summer? yeah it’s not done yet it super needs to be done and I’ve been avoiding working on it for weeks. someone tell me to just do it already

#the problem is. actually there are several problems #1) I’ve been out of the Batman/dc comics phase for almost a year so I don’t care that much about the topic #2) I am fifteen pages in and have not touched it in months so I’ve completely lost my train of thought #3) I can’t just reread it because I hate first five pages or so and I know I need to change it but I was trying to finish before editing #so now my only solution is I need to open up a new doc and completely restructure the whole thing by splicing together the existing writing #so that I can figure out where the hell im going with this and make sure things fit together better #unfortunately that sounds fucking exhausting #but I told my mentor I would have an update for him by the end of the week and. well. it’s the end of the week #I have to present it in April. I have to write and submit an abstract in March #the school gave me $1500 for this stupid essay and if I don’t have anything to show for myself.#well. I don’t know they can’t take the money BACK but it’s not a good look #and also I would feel bad #I did the research!!! i interviewed comic writers even!!! I just haven’t finished WRITING IT DOWN #and I KNOOOOWW once I get started it’ll be fine once I’m going I’m going #but STARTING is hard because I feel like I have to finish it in one go which makes it so huge and daunting #I’m like. slamming my head into a wall. just write a couple sentences Jess something is better than nothing #just start it you don’t have to finish just START just MAKE the new DOC #I know!!!!! that is what my therapist would say!!!! Jess you’re trying to oneshot it bc of your dumb adhd brain!!!!#stop looking at it like that and making it scarier!!!#but even tho I know that logically I’m still like oh I should put away the dishes o should make bread #I should work on my six different art pieces I should do laundry i should play with the puppy I should go for a walk I sh
