Here’s #studioseries #wheelie with the previous version… The Japanese version. The old one was a bit bigger, could seat a Titan master, and was great at the time, but I think I prefer the new one. Feels more screen accurate, and less bulky- more streamlined and a lot better proportions. Transformers the Movie 1986

I never did like the changes they made and how they killed off characters who have now all since reappeared, cause why fix something that isn't broken? So here is my rewrite of what happened after the movie/during the third season of G1...

The so-called "dead" Decepticons were forced into stasis by Unicron and these imposters were put in their place. Then when Starcream got his body back we discover it was all a ruse to trick Unicron. Starscream sees how awful the imposters are and frees Megatron, etc from stasis. They then capture Galvatron and the other imposters and imprison them in Unicron's head.

Megatron of course has to ignore the fact that Starscream set him adrift in space, and Starscream has to acknowledge that it wasn't actually Megatron who killed him in the first place. However, they see they have to work together against a common enemy.

All hail Lord Megatron!

We’re always pretty quiet #fourthofjuly people. Having #fireworks-fearing pups does that. And in the past 15 months we’ve gotten even more #booradley-ish. Guessing that’s why I grabbed an @80stees vintage #rodimusprime #transformersthemovie1986 tee (vs. something star-spangled) to wear today. And we spent the day in this godawful summer mugginess repairing/regrouting our front steps. But the day ended with a nice bit of joy as our fab new neighbors Rachel and McKay (and their cute bird Mango) surprised us with tequila-infused cupcakes. Soooo … I may be competing with the neighborhood “boom boom”s by singing my favorite show tunes in our front yard shortly. 🎇🤣🍸 @rachel.rienks.ure @kevstecko … #FUNFACT: first movie I recall actively desiring to rent (remember doing that?) was #transformersthemovie. We had two places back then in #ColumbiaCity: #hividex and #entertainmenttoday (not tonight 🤣 for some reason). The latter store was up the street from our house, and I trudged there on my own on a grey fall afternoon after school, plunked down $3 (I think), and ran home eager to view (not realizing one day such niche viewing would become the norm). The movie was far sadder and bleaker than I could have anticipated, and I don’t recall liking it terribly much … but I was genuinely left in awe that characters I knew and loved lived, died, and used the occasional swear word during the film’s run time. And it played into my longstanding interest in legacies, generations, and heroic passings-of-the-torch.
