The 2024 gaming year was an interesting one to say the least. While the previous year was loaded with modern masterpieces like Baldur's Gate 3, Street Fighter 6, and Alan Wake 2……2024 has delivered various hits of their own; be it in the form of new games, sequels to already established titles or even remastered/remakes/HD re-releases of classic games to modern consoles. 

Looking back, 2024 was never short of bringing great experiences to any and every gamer looking to enter new worlds of wonder. Games like Metaphor ReFantazio, Dragon's Dogma 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Astro Bot have gotten nothing but positive praise amongst the gaming community, but these successes are still not without faults…. Whether it being the continuing push of the poorly Games as a Service idea by various publishers, resulting in gaming studios being shut down, with a lot of very talented developers/artist/individuals losing their jobs, to even the continuing behind the scenes controversies that company CEO’s/Investors and publishers continue to try to avoid, We can admit that the faults will always be in the back of our minds when deciding to purchase a game with our hard earned money.     

Even with what is happening, the Nostalgia Roadtrip Network is dedicated to bringing you the best that we can do to bring a smile to your face by spotlighting these talented artist, composers, and musicians that have elevated our gaming experiences since we first learned to pick up a controller, hit a button on a keyboard or swiped across our phones.

From the SAG-AFTRA union actors authorizing various strikes against the industry's largest companies to receive better pay for their contributions, Microsoft finally purchasing Activision Blizzard King for $69 billion, to even more than 6,000 game developers losing their jobs amid a massive wave of layoffs.  It’s been hard to put a positive spin on the people who are actually responsible for making the games that have brought us hours upon hours of entertaining characters, worlds and experiencesIn saying that, 2023 has been a standout year for games. With how great the previous year for gaming was, it's insane that 2023 might just be the medium's best year of all time.
