So right off the bat I'm going to say that my WIP folder is a bog. Lots of stuff goes in, some of it stays on the surface long enough to be completed and a good deal of it sinks down into the folder's depths, unlikely to ever see the light of day again (though only 'unlikely'- many pieces have managed to make comebacks).

Which is a long way to say that I'm not going to list everything in my WIP folder because a lot of it will probably never be finished and it would take too long. Also a bunch of it is original stuff, not fanfic.

Hello, Followers. Account Manager and I’s house has gained back full electricity, WiFi, and Cable Television. One thing we did to entertain ourselves in the interim was explore the fallen trees. Account Manager is still “bummed” (what an odd human word) that a few of our trees have to come down, but we decided to make the most of it by exploring and having a little photo shoot. Stone Wall: Orchard is a big, slow, walking treebot that’ll only get heavier over time once they start including stone into their natural armor. With the warforged’s natural +1 to AC and a shield at +2, they can easily top off at 22 AC.

Photo day! So, thanks to the makerspace, some very generous members donated some very nice components to aid in my endeavours, and I didn't even feel that bad taking them, because I actually had a design. Actually, holding the parts in my hand gave me a great boost in confidence and motivation to get the project done. Support from the makerspace was crucial during the mid design stages of TreeBot, when I was hitting quite the slump.

The Adventures of TreeBot. #2: Aaand I missed a day.

So. I missed a day, but nonetheless, I shall continue. When I first began thinking of building a 3d printer, I did a lot of online research. I searched Google, Instructables, you name it, for any and all things 3d printing.

You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to actually find the RepRap wiki.

Before I did, I got inspired by the guy and his $60 e-waste 3d printer. I looked all over and before I even knew what I was doing, I was gathering parts. Unfortunately the build was not documented in a very detailed fashion, and I, knowing nothing of 3d printing, found it hopeless.

So, you know (emphasis I did not know anything about 3d printing) I decided just to build my own from the ground up.

First, I discovered the RepRap wiki AND LEARNED THERE WAS AN IRC CHANNEL. So suddenly I had countless hours of experience and trial and error within my grasp, as long as I ask the right questions! I began searching through 3d printer designs to build, settling on a wooden frame Prusa I3. But NOPE. I actually have no idea why I decided this, but I was going to design my own printer, to meet my own exceedingly strict standards. (I literally needed a printer that would fit in my tiny, tiny room). For a while it was a pipe dream, and I thought I would never actually get around to doing anything with the idea, as has happened with nearly all of my “brilliant” ideas in the past. But no more! TreeBot shall live!
