Weltmeisterschaft im Baum umarmen - TreeHugging
Tumblr media

In The Beginning (Good Omens x FFXIV AU) [1-2/8] [next]
In a land still plagued by the shadows of the Seventh Umbral Calamity, before heroes awakened once more to answer Hydaelyn's call and save the world, two strangers (of sorts) meet in a garden (of sorts).
The original page of scribbles that spawned this AU:
This was supposed to be a one-off thing but I keep coming back to it and. here we are I'm back at it again. The rest will happen when they happen I can make no promises

Idk I kinda hope it was a bug bc like. It's WILD to me that anyone would like Halsin if how he acted in my game is how he's supposed to act.
First you tell me you don't care about my opinion at the tiefling party (after I COMPLIMENTED you?????) AND THEN you come on to me in act 3 (which ok fair I did just save you from Orin and I am hot who can blame you) but when I turn you down by saying I don't see you that way, you blow up! "You treated me as a lover, not a friend" So I should have let Orin kill you???

Anarchists can never explain to me how their collective of people is different from our collective of people, because in their minds Evil is located within the abstract body of the bureaucrat, and not the human failure of deferring to bureaucracy in outsourcing moral judgement and heart.
I do however love tree law.

i know it’s common sense and also nobody really uses the phrase anymore but literally how was treehugger ever an insult. i don’t even hug trees myself but what is there to poke fun at about just..loving the world you live in? caring about other forms of life from you? forms of life that benefit you no less? humans really really need to remember that we’re animals just as much as the next species and we’re part of nature too, not above it. let’s just bring back treehugging honestly.

She froze. In all honesty, she was unaware of the dangers Sumeru could hold. In the 500 years of her existence she had never even left Fontaine, and even then she was almost always accompanied by guards when wandering outside of the court of Fontaine. Up until after the prophecy had come to it's end, she didn't have any care for what happened in other nations. She hadn't even bothered to do research on Sumeru beforehand, she never considered how important it was that she did so.
Still completely frozen in shock, she stared at the boy stood in front of her. She was wary of what to do next. Was he friend or foe? She didn't have a clue. On one hand, he had made sure to let her know that he wasn't meaning to sneak up on her, as well as making her known to the dangers of Sumeru. However, the way he laughed at her, mocking her, it made her uneasy.
A ball seemed to appear within her throat making it feel tight. If this person did appear to be a bad one rather than good, she would easily lose in a fight. The turquoise coloured vision was clearly visible to her, she knew she wouldn't stand a chance against him without any form of power of her own. The suffocating feeling in her throat became almost unbearable, causing her to let out a few coughs in attempt to clear it. Her stomach grew ill at the thought of it all, her already pale skin becoming closer in colour to a sheet of writing paper.
Why couldn't she move? Why couldn't she say anything?
"Oh archons, please allow for my body to work," She thought to herself. She was completely helpless and the boy seemed to be growing increasingly agitated by her lack of response as she stared wide eyed at him. She needed to say something, and fast.
She was terrified, but what scared her more was making the boy angry. At last, she managed to open her mouth, stuttering out a barely audible sentence, "...I didn't know that, I apologise for my lack of understanding." - 🍂
Tumblr media
She truly stared at him like a startled deer. The Wanderer scoffed, the ornaments hanging from his hat making soft sounds as he slightly shook his head. This was ridiculous. He had barely even said a word, and this woman was looking at him like he was about to launch an attack. He was starting to debate if simply leaving was an option when she finally spoke.
Her words confused the puppet. Why was she apologizing to him? It wasn't his concern whether she got mauled and eaten by a predator or not. Or was she mistaking him for one of those treehugging rangers? Probably not, seeing as she wasn't even from around here. He highly doubted many from beyond Sumeru knew about the folk inhabiting Gandharva Ville.
Back to the matter at hand, however: the woman who was still looking at him with frightened eyes, and was also now clearly expecting a response. She seemed familiar, somehow. Trying to conceal his agitation as much as possible, and likely failing spectacularly, he replied:
"Well, now you do. Pay attention to your surroundings, or get out of here before some overgrown cat decides to have himself an easy meal."
Archons, he sounded like that fox-eared guy, lecturing yet another careless adventurer. Nahida would be proud of him, and the mere thought of her excitement almost physically made him roll his eyes.
He studied the woman in front of him for a moment. Her clothes seemed much more fit for a fancy dinner than a trip through the jungle, from the (probably) expensive shoes to the little hat she wore. Definitely Fontainian, he concluded. What in Teyvat was she doing all the way out here? He wasn't planning on sticking around to find out that answer. This interaction had been going for long enough already.
The Wanderer turned around to leave, his clothes gently swishing in the wind. He pulled his hat lower, preparing for another short walk back through the bushes. She could figure the rest out on her own, surely.
"Don't get yourself killed."

someone should make an art exhibition based on how much israel has accelerated climate change n how much genocide contributes to emissions in the name of "freedom" cus sometimes i think treehugging is the only way to get a lot of white ppl to care abt issues that dont directly effect north america.

I’ve seen a take someone has on Eggman and since you get a lot of Eggman related asks, I’ve decided to get your thoughts on it because i’m not sure where I stand with it.
They lean really into the environmental vs industrial element of the classic games, but Eggman’s motivation is because he sees nature as weakness. People can die, but machines can be rebuilt even after being destroyed. Taking a vulnerable lifeform like a flicky and turning it into a badnik where it can do so much more is revolutionary, and more utilitarian. His empire is rooted in building something indestructible, and his constant ability to squash nature under his shoe is precisely why he should. The environment is weak, and he can use it to make his empire indestructible. He’s a genius because he sees the world this way, and clearly anyone who doesn’t agree with him isn’t very smart and lost in their delusions of nature and treehugging.
I’m pulling a lot of this description from what they’ve talked about, but it sounds kinda weird to me. Not sure if I hate it though, it’s just different from how a lot of the fandom writes him, which leads me to believe it might actually be good. Any thoughts?
It's not full-on SatAM, but does kind of veer into that territory, in that it simplifies a key aspect of this franchise's nuanced take on the nature VS technology motif.
Because while Eggman obviously prides himself on his genius, believes his take on the world is the only one that matters, and that his tech is better than anything else... intruding on nature and using it for his own nefarious purposes is entirely a casual affair for him. It's not something he thinks about too hard one way or the other, because it's as irrelevant to him as everything else that isn't himself. Game Eggman's technology is a convenient extension of his genius, whereas with SatAM, it's sort of the opposite way around, where it's the technology itself that's presented as the domineering evil force, with Julian simply being a convenient source for it.
The reason for the rampant pollution and general disarray seen in the likes of CD's Bad Futures is because Eggman doesn't care. He doesn't go out of his way to make everything look like that, as evidenced by how pristine Metropolis is in Forces, he just doesn't care about the state of anything, or anyone, as long as they're serving his needs. SatAM Robotnik had an anti-nature agenda, whereas Game Eggman is a massive hedonist of the most callous and cruel calibre.
