Pebbleshine's kits gets slept on as one of the worst novellas. It is literally about her having kits and then dying. The only notable thing that happens is that Tree shows up, which sucks because it changes the entire dynamic of TreeViolet and can make it kinda creepy.

Yeah I have weird feelings when it comes to Bramble and Squirrel because i like the idea of these 2 great rivals' kids shacking up, like their potential, great. But canon makes me squeamish with how they handled them. The Erins just didn't know how to write rivals to lovers and it shows. So I'd say I'm not a shipper of them but I like what could've been.

They don't know how to write romance period

At least between main characters with the exception of FireSand and maybe Graystripe and his wives. And BarleyRaven. And maybe TreeViolet

They did good with DustFern (post-first arc since the first arc stuff is kinda creepy because the timeline is fucked), BrackenSorrel, stuff like that

But they utterly failed with stuff like BrambleSquirrel, TigerDove, BumbleDove (which I admit is a guilty pleasure ship of mine because I originally gave up on the series in Night Whispers and I thought they'd be good together... boy I was wrong), FinTwig, the list goes on. Even the ones that aren't really bad relationships like OakBlue, LionCinder, and FernIvy are just... mediocre

5 good qualities: All of them. He’s strange, cool, peaceful, wise, and a great dad. I’m probably forgetting some other stuff, but point is Tree is good!

3 bad qualities: None, I just can’t think of any lol.
