I love that Addam is positioned alongside Corlys during the war, whereas Alyn remains by his mother’s side. Addam is fully engaged in his identity as a Velaryon and Alyn keeps himself at a distance. But in the end, Addam proves himself to take more after his mother (and is ultimately buried at Hull where she lives). Meanwhile, Alyn goes on to become Corlys 2.0 (right down to being buried in the sea).

The juxtaposition between them is such a great detail.

Does pelt length contribute to the beauty factor at all? Does it vary based on clan? I‘ve always imagined Riverclan as finding medium-long fur attractive with Windclan as finding short fur attractive but I’m not sure on the rest 🤔

In general I think it's a balance. It can make a cat look bigger and more threatening, but also hide scars.

I think ThunderClan LOVES a fluffy mane though, hence why it gets selected for in that Clan.

ShadowClan probably selects for short fur because of the marsh. Long hair means holding down heavy, sopping mud.

I am constantly, 24/7, thinking about that part in the RD drama CD where Zelgius and Soren talk. Just an amazing bit of conversation that felt tailormade to specifically me. Just flat out acknowledging their parallels, I love it. How Zelgius didn't want to kill Soren but once he realized Soren cared about Ike as much as he cared about Sephiran he was essentially like 'then at least I can offer you the chance to die with him.' Fucking haunting and sad.

"Gills" is both his full first name and, technically, derives from a nickname. Originally he was given the Terran name "Gillian" as a longstanding tradition to appeal to prospective cross-planetary surrogate parents, although considering Gills was a "difficult" case... obviously it didn't work.

Later, he would go by the nickname "Gil"- which is actually pronounced more like Jill- but no one has called him this in years. And if they know any better, they won't. "Gills" is the variant he chose mainly for the purpose of not standing out while also separating himself from his past life- it's something of a "John Doe" name for ambymanders, namely those who have transferred off-planet. Perfectly boring and discreet.

I feel so spoilt because the recent dramas I've been watching lately have just been so good --

-- then I go back to Meet You at the Blossom. Which isn't a bad show, but because it's only a handful of episodes it always feels so rushed in comparison and sometimes I'm like 'so what is the plot now'?

I know we're lucky to have this show and I very much appreciate the work and effort into getting a Taiwanese/Chinese mixed production so we could limbo our way beneath the censorship bar and have an uncensored BL drama for a Chinese audience. The cast are great and are doing amazing work! I have very little negative to say about it in general, only that we have two episodes left and I feel like watching this show is like reading the bullet pointed notes of a longer book.

People who sing Rheagar and Lyanna is a love story are not getting a subject of the story their story echoes, Bael and the bard. In the current timeline, we have two other stories, that echo that Sansa and Jon, who were both held hostage and had to comply under the threat of death Sansa was molested on her wedding night, Jon was just raped and yes, in both stories, there was a kidnapping. both Sansa and Jon’s marriages did protect them and so did their status as a bastard protected them from death so if you look up on regarding Rheagar Lyanna‘s marriage, protected her from something and having a bastard did(from what I don’t know) but she was raped and she was kidnapped. our author has always pointed that when adults put children in sexual positions when they’re too young, for it didn’t die by that Lysa died to Peter because she raped him Drogo, and Viserys died to Daenerys  because they put her in that position. let’s not romanticize this not even an author does that 

Well said, dear anon. People often seem to forget that the Bael the Bard story is a negative story and being associated with that tale is not a good thing. We have three, actually four if we include Jon’s gender reverse version, bard figures (Bael, Rhaegar, Baelish, and Ygritte). Three of the four of them are outright villains who prey on a ‘Stark Maiden’. Based on that it makes sense that the second tale is as equally fucked up as the rest. Rhaegar and Lyanna are not a love story. To assume that it is, is an insult to poor Lyanna.

I think about the two sides of Mapleshade’s ending so much.

Like the idea of the death of her kits, murders, and own death going on the make a Queen’s Right thing is SO COOL I just eat that up (recommend bonefall’s au he did this and it’s sick)

But also the idea of either never being found out and just living her life know her kids aren’t Birchface’s but raising that way, lying to her whole new family, and still living. Is incredibly interesting. Or the idea of her running off to the farm and raising her kits there.
