Napoleon and Alexander: An Eldritch horror love story

For the longest time. I’ve been into eldritch horror. I’ve been into the idea of cosmic horror, fear of the unknown. The fear of finding and fearing something so powerful and incomprehensible that your mind breaks.

I’ve never actually been interested in Napalex, but it’s not to say it wasn’t a possibility. I am a firm believer in the possibility that Napoleon was bisexual but I don’t know a lot of the Tsar. So you may ask, “what idea do you plan to add?”

What if they were cosmic entities? Or rather…one.

Long ago they were originally one cosmic force. One being, one entity. For eons. For billions upon trillions of years they’ve existed throughout time and space. They serve as forces of nature. I haven’t come up exactly of what they should be and what function they serve, but they are not necessarily Gods. God does exist, but he’s created this entity for a purpose.

But after many eons of being one, somehow they were shattered into 2. A cosmic being split into 2 and scattered on the opposite sides of Europe to be enemies, to kill each other. The being who split them apart was unknown. I don’t know their objective at the moment. They were reformed and remolded, rather than being one entity, they were two complete polar opposite enemies meant to kill each other. Incarnated into human bodies to fight and end each other.

Napoleon is Yin. He is war, he is chaos, confidence. He’s fire, he’s yin. He’s the sun. He is transformation, change, domination. Alexander is Yang, he is order. He’s modesty, ice/water, he’s the moon. He’s stasis. He’s submission. While they may seem like polar opposites, be warned, they have more in common than differences.

You’d think they’d be enemies, and that is what they’re twisted into. But there’d be a lore reason to why they’d romance to easily. Cause they were one. They are missing pieces of one another.

Each of them struggle. Napoleon is born into hell. It’s brutal, harsh. He wants to be a soldier. He transforms and shapes himself constantly throughout his life because…he doesn’t actually know what or who he is. He seeks lovers both men and women constantly because he’s trying to look for his other half, but failing to do so til he meets Alexander. He doesn’t remember who he is, but remembers that he was something greater. That’s why he constantly ascends, that’s why he’s so ambitious. That’s why he’s so prideful and talented. That’s why he’s so grandiose, because he’s constantly trying to ascend to what he used to be. He wishes on stars and looks up to the cosmos. He doesn’t remember, but it’s all too familiar.

Meanwhile, Alexander is pretty similar yet the opposite. He is born into Tsardom. But instead of being what you’d expect, he is somewhat pampered. But he’s tormented by his terrible father and made to feel ashamed. He is submissive and molds to those around him. That is in his nature. Because of his nature he becomes so bent and warped that he doesn’t know his original self and doesn’t seek it. (Also not to mention his marriage with Louise, aka Elizabeth). That is, until he meets Napoleon.

Suddenly, when they meet one another, they’re easily enamored. They talk, they laugh, they cry and connect. They even feel like they’ve known each other for a while (that’s because they have). And..also weird shit happens and magic too. But it’s distant too.

I have an idea for an endgame. During the invasion of Russia, he actually heads to Saint Petersburg instead. (Yes it becomes alt history/ historical fantasy, can you tell.). But guess what? This has extremely terrible consequences because it’s not going how it’s meant to be. It’s a timeline error. Reality breaks and everything falls apart, and they’re transported to an alternate realm.

Napoleon realizes who he actually is. And he wholeheartedly embraces it, he emerges. He’s extremely wise and developed in this state. He’s more confident, intelligent and powerful in every single way than ever, but also more narcissistic and arrogant. He believes himself to be above (cause he kinda is) and believes himself to not be wrong. He is perfect, he’s basically “A God am I”. A fiery (yes, both literally and figuratively) hivemind with many faces. Each face representing who he was in his life, and the true form is at the very top.

Alexander is absolutely mortified at the revelation. Being the orthodox and religious person he is, he curses him. He believes him to be satan, to be the devil. He believes that Satan was his true identity.

However, despite the fact Napoleon used to be Catholic in the past and since shed it and practically became atheist, he is “enlightened” at first. He believes himself to BE a God. And he believes Alexander to be a God too. And they argue. And this is when things get intense.

Alexander angers him, and as you might expect. Angering a God (even though he isn’t) doesn’t exactly go well. And then, Alexander awakens and he also has his true form. He’s absolutely mortified and horrified at the revelation of himself being this. Then they fight. A fight between two cosmic entities which used to be one. They even almost end each other. But…as it reaches its climax….they stop. They learned. They both cry into each other’s arms. (if what they have now can even be considered arms now.) Napoleon reveals the vulnerable parts of himself and Alexander reveals the powerful aspects. Napoleon learned to be humble and that it’s ok to be vulnerable. Alexander learns to be authoritative and that it’s ok to speak up and comfort.

Until God comes in. He reveals to the two newly awakened entities that they are creations that were originally one being. And that they’ve now reached the end of their journey. He says that he’ll rewrite the timeline, (aka our timeline. They die in 1821 and 1825.)

They have 3 options,

The 1st option is that they travel amongst the whole entire cosmos and through history, and then watch the earth, realizing how colossal they are to the solar system. They even wave to the earth. They wave hello and goodbye to everyone and everything they’ve ever known during their time on earth. Soon, they merge into one entity and resume their function. They remain that way for eons to come. This is what they’ve always been.

the 2nd option is that they can experience the journey again. That it can be a loop. And no matter what they always have each other. They can make amends and succeed, and when the time comes awaken once more.

the 3rd option is the option where they can remain humans, and that they can be reincarnated. They decide to be a married couple and they live happily ever after. The end I guess.
