Nico and the coco puffs *to the tune of Josie and the pussy cats*

I just finished the sun and the Star and oh my god I loved it so much! It’s so cute and I love how their relationship developed throughout with communication and learning to understand one another. So many cute moments and references and ahh so cute and good. Love them. Gonna draw some trogs soon bc I love them but the COCO PUFFS AHH so good. Their children :)

Mr. D loving the boys is also adorable and I love him he’s so funny and iconic

Just making them was a little bit therapeutic. They are just fun and sweet.

I will put these headcannon here too

-I can’t decide which I like more the little puffs that are attached to Will are because it a deamon that Will actually helps Nico fight or the puffs are attached to anyone who have the same deamons so like if the puff is bad self confidence, then Will also have to work on his bad self confidence

-And I can totally see one just hanging out in his scrub/coat pockets and all the little kids when injured want to pet them, so he sometimes will take them out and use them as therapy animals.

-Just a camper thinking a puff is dust balls. And accidentally swap one and then when their eye/eyes open and the camper just screams.

-I just love the image of Nico just coming up to Will and just handing him a random puff like here hold this/ ‘this puff wanted you so I had to come out here and find you…and I just realized they thick me into going outside’ . Maybe some Herme campers (maybe Cecil and Lou Ellen even) heard the thing of, if people are talking and you hand them something they will take it. and they just find Will when he is talking to someone and see how many puffs that can hand Will without him noticing. Maybe he even realizes what they are doing with the first puff,but he just wants to hold them all.

-I love that Jealousy, the puff by nico’s flag patch. looks like they have eyes for Will like it making little graby hands to him.

-Guilt by Nico’s feet, looks like they seen some stuff, which fair.

-Saddest on Will head looks like they just claimed Will as theirs, so did shame the cat looking one (my cat literally started to try and play with them when I was making them)

-Grief is just going to sit on Nick’s head, maybe give him some head pats, maybe weight down his shoulder

-I love how I can just turn the isolation puff in any way to get a different expressions. Like eyeing Will? Willing Nico, looking down to the floor like they were nothing, give Will puppy eyes so he pick them up.

Basically Riordan and Oshiro have wrote a book about a queer couple, apparently to CELEBRATE queer love and at the end of it....they let Nico have a strange thing going on with a FEMALE deity and they kinda have babies in common? 💀

You know this sounds gay and homophobic at the same time 💀

Yeah it kinda weird but I also kinda love that part.

Also it’s never stated that Nyx or Nico have any romantic feelings for each other just to be clear. (It is at least implied that Nyx wants Nico to stay in the house of night with her because that’s where she thinks he belongs in the darkness she doesn’t like that he’s in the mortal world or with Will but I don’t think that’s romantic in cannon)

Its entirely my head cannon that Nyx has a crush on Nico and is very much obsessed with him but he only likes her platonically and thinks she’s really cool and they kinda have a weird friendship where they’re not exactly a couple but Nyx doesn’t hide her crush or her obsession with Nico and she kinda keeps him around as a pet that’s all my head cannon that does not happen in tsats.

I have not gotten to the part where they have the coco puff demons yet, I’ve seen spoilers where Nyx somehow takes all of Nicos trauma outside of his body and turns it into a bunch of little demon kitty things that kinda look like coco puffs. They’re technically not related to Nyx at all and their entirely Nicos kids DNA wise (and he calls them coco puffs lol) but Nyx helped create them and she really loves them and cal them her and Nico’s children. I think it’s kinda implied that Solangelo and Nyx share custody of these demon coco puff babies like they go back and forth between camp with solangelo and the house of night with Nyx.

i don’t know how but i haven’t seen anyone talking about the final dream scene in TSATS. like i cannot tell you how hard i sobbed when nico got a moment with bianca and maria BUT. i think the parts with hades might’ve been my favorite. in house of hades (i think) hades told nico that he wanted him to be happy. in TSATS nico actually hugged his father probably for the first time. hades literally told nico he deserves everything. that one father son moment is one of the biggest parts in the book for me.

What are your thoughts on tsats? I find people either love it it hate it (I love it ) But i can agree with some people that think its reminds me of a fan fic. also thoughts on the coco puffs?

i actually really liked it! i bought the book right when it came out (drove to target before school lmfao) and had finished it by the time i got home from school - and i can definitely say that i thoroughly enjoyed it

i think the reason some people dislike it is because they go into it expecting it to be... darker? in some ways? or more mature, just because the fandom has grown up in the time since the og series and expect the books to mature with them. either that, or they also expect it to be some tell-all for all the backstory between solangelo

i didn't go into it expecting that. i didn't go into it even expecting my headcanons to change - i already had my idea of what will's life was like and how they got together, etc, and i didn't really expect to read tsats and then change all of that, yk? i guess i went into it reading it as a fanfic, but i don't say that in a bad way at all

i really do appreciate tsats for giving us more will and nico, and also the struggles between them with nico being a literal child of the underworld. but i also agree that there were 100% continuity errors, nico was made much less op for no reason?? and apollo SHOULD have made an appearance. as well as the idea that the entire camp was empty when they first left is... odd.

HOWEVER, i still really enjoy the book, and will probably reread it soon! does that mean i really accept it as canon? not really tbh, i still go by what i wrote in my will series for will's story, just because i'm already so attached to that. but that doesn't mean that i can't like the book even if i don't accept it as canon - and i do agree it read a bit like fanfic, but honestly, imo, that's not a bad thing at all. some of my fav books read like fanfic and i love them for it!!

the one thing i absolutely hateee when people criticize the book is when they say that nico was ooc. like that was actually one of my favorite parts of the book, that nico was just allowed to be a bit cringy and feel more extroverted, more open, because that's who he is!!! in ttc, he's literally just an excited boy who wants to learn about demigod things, and then he gets struck with tragedy. i love that his happiness in this book showed that he's finally starting to recover, starting to figure out who he is - despite his aesthetic and his love for the underworld, etc, he's finally starting to be happy!! and i'm so proud of him for that

in the end i love the book for what it is but also i don't take it too seriously, if that makes sense. thank you for the ask!!

I was Not a fan of TSATS for several reasons (felt rushed, tired of tarturus, the resolution to the built up conflict was underwhelming, the damn coco puffs) but the thing that made me the most mad is WILL NOT BRINGING A SINGLE WEAPON TO TARTARUS
