I don’t know why but I love this short moment of Nick and June. The way she just thinks he can do anything at all with no real problem is beautiful but also detrimental as we saw last week.

I've been shipping them for what feels like decades. Love their chemistry and he cares about her as a person more than both of her husbands did combined.

This scene feels kind of improvised, but either way, I can't help laughing at Lawrence's reaction, Tuello's smile, and the look Serena gives him. 😂

Nick's plan to disappear, why the end of season 5 and 6 could have been/can be linked... Tuello/June/Nick.
From the beginning, I am convinced that there are many things we don't know about the deal Nick made with Tuello. I already posted about the fact that that whole Nick/Lawrence conversation on the plane is a coded conversation (winning side=Mayday) and that Nick knew everything. Nobody can convince me otherwise (even now!). And I also posted about the Rose/Nick conversation at the hospital and how it was meant to show that Rose was just like her father.
Nick was never a puppet and at the end of season 5, Tuello acknowledges Nick's talent navigating all of it and calls him an honorable man. They make a deal and then Tuello asks Nick why he made that deal because he could have run away with June.
Nick answers "she has people who care for her, she doesn't need me, I'm nothing."... "Not to her" says Tuello, then mentioning Holly and Nick says "it's a pipe dream" (repeating this in season 6 when he says "I don't get to have what I want").
Flash forward to 6x03 and that Tuello/Nick conversation: (note that Nick now knows June's mom is alive, June's family is reunited and there is only one person that is missing : Hannah).
Tuello : "Don't go dark on me again or I'll expose you" / Nick : "No, you won't, I'm no use to you if I'm dead"...Nick reminds Tuello that there is a High Commander in his house, he can't do everything he wants. Then, and this is the most important part, Tuello says something like "stick to the plan". It's all in front of June but June (the audience) does not know what their deal and plan is.
To me, Nick accepted to stay in Gilead to destroy it from within. Again, nobody can convince me otherwise (and again, yes, even now!)
So, I had this second theory but I did not want to post it at first because I was wrong when I tried to make sense of everything that happened after the hanging. But a post on IG perfectly described this second theory I had so I'd like to share (girl, if you're on tumblr, thank you again, I felt seen):
After the Rose/Nick scene at the hospital, he realized she was just like her father and he needed to get out but how could he? He was stuck and he needed to find a way without putting his son (if it's his) in danger but also without putting June and Holly in danger. The priority for Nick was always to keep his family safe. He thought about a way to disappear while managing to stay in a position where he could finish the fight to destroy Gilead. The only person he could call was Tuello who tells him about the plane. Nick uses it as a way out to fake his death (this point needs to be developped I know but we all thought about this). Faking his death and disappearing allows Nick to go deep underground and work for Mayday. Nobody knows (except maybe Tuello?) which guarantees June, Holly, Rose and the baby's safety. Nick could also be the one that gives informations about Hannah (which Tuello manages to get somehow in the last episode).
This is still possible that it happened in the show but as we only get to see the story through June's point of view and perspective, it could explain it all because she does not know. And that would be true to Nick's character in the show and of course the book.

Tuello had no business looking that good when storming the city and Serena did not deserve to get a fine-ass savior once again.
