I’m reaching out to other moms in my situation. My baby isn’t a baby anymore. My baby is becoming a big boy. & I’m struggling. Raider will be 3 in less than a week but he’s still nursing (I’ve only allowed before bed now). Im really struggling on getting him off completely. He’s definitely hard headed & will not give up a fight for what he wants. So if I try to say no, it’s world war 3 with him. Tantrums, screaming & sometimes hitting. I’m extremely proud of myself for being able to push through all the sleepless nights, to pumping hours on end, to all the cracked & clogged ducts to give him my breast milk. It’s hard to even say goodbye myself to our bond with nursing but I’m dying to have my body back to myself, I want to go out without worrying about my boobs filling up, I want him to enjoy sleep overs without me at his grandma’s house. H turns THREE tmrw!!! Travis and I were talking about how the time has flown by so quickly but, at the same time, it’s hard to remember what life was like before him — he is truly the sweetest little guy! When he went to bed tonight, we put out some decorations for his family party this wknd and filled the floor with balloons. His school celebration was today — we are basing both parties off the book “Dinosaur Dig” by Penny Dale. It’s an awesome counting book about a dinosaur construction crew. (We also recently got her “Dinsoaur Rescue” which has quickly become a favorite.) So today we read the book to his class and M “helped” me set up a dinosaur construction site! I hid “jewels” inside kinetic sand in Tupperware containers with little tractors and dinosaurs...gave them some measuring spoons from the dollar store as digging tools. And they had a blast! I was shocked by how long they sat and worked on their digging. (I also put my painters tape that looks like tracks/roads on a dollar store tablecloth so they loved driving their truckloads along those!)
