This was my first TVB drama in years, I barely remember what the last TVB drama I watched was...maybe it was The Exorcist’s Meter from 2017? Anyways, we started watching this on a Saturday and it was so addicting that we finished all 30 eps in 6 days lol. Maybe we watched too fast, and the pace of the story picked up so the last few eps were just a whirlwind of finding out crazy things one after another and deepening the already confusing net of who’s good, who’s bad, and who knows who’s who LOL. Overall I really enjoyed it! I don’t remember what happens in the original Line Walker from 2014 so hard to compare. I have a lot of questions from this drama - there are many unbelievable things that happened but I guess that’s just dramas lmao can’t think too hard about it.
Some things I found hard to believe/needed an explanation for:
1. When Ah Mui sat on the chair with a bomb underneath it, Cheuk Sir later said that it wasn’t Scarlett who put it there, it was someone else - later revealed to be 2 girls going after Scarlett. But how the hell did 2 teen/university girls manage to sneak into the apartment of a former MI6 agent and put a bomb under her chair...
2. When Ah Mui used UC morse code to try and communicate with Scarlett to show up at a certain place at a certain time to see if she was really the UC they’re looking for. Scarlett shows up, but there’s another female who shows up, with a gun. And nothing else happens - they don’t reveal her face or why she’s there or why she has a gun! I’m guessing that was either Laurena or Misale, either of the 2 girls going after Scarlett??! But they don’t know the UC code...Scarlett just happened to understand it b/c Britain and HK use the same code. Makes no sense.
3. Microbomb that Johnny got his assistant to plant in Scarlett’s head...but she drank from a glass of water...so assuming it doesn’t disintegrate in her stomach acid, how does it travel up to her brain....and how does something that’s seemingly invisible (if you can’t see it in a glass of water) have GPS and can be turned on/off with an external detonator?
4. When Ah Mui finds out that Lok Siu died, and died at the hands of Tin Tong, she has a mental breakdown and seems mentally unstable lol. I get that she’s devastated that she just lost someone she really loved, but she’s also a UC, and I feel like they would have better control over their emotions. She slapped Tin Tong countless times and placed all the blame on him (even telling him to never show his face before her ever again!) without trying to learn what even happened that led up to Lok Siu’s death. Like dude, Tin Tong is still your comrade, and a trusted comrade at that, how you gonna act like that to him without even understanding what happened?
5. Moses going to save Scarlett when King holds her hostage: he’s in the middle of a ring of guys all pointing their guns at him and yet he whips out his own gun and singlehandedly takes down everyone before any of them have time to react and shoot him themselves??? It was impressive but also incredibly unbelievable lol wish they included more scenes of him taking down people then, since he’s dressed up as a businessman and talks all the time yet is seemingly super skilled.
6. Probably the biggest question in the entire show is the ending - how the hell did Lok Siu survive?!? And manage to make it out to Thailand with Foon Hei to start from scratch again, leaving his life in HK behind. Dude survived multiple gunshot wounds, it’s like he’s invincible lmao. Glad that he survived but kinda sad that his comrades are so distraught over his death and miss him dearly in HK while he’s alive and kicking and looking forward to doing more criminal activity in Thailand. I’m eagerly awaiting Line Walker 3 to know what becomes of them.
