I can't remember the last time I finished a drama without liberal use of the fast forward button or dropping it entirely. I'm in such a slump.
As an over 40 woman, where are the storylines and casts to engage me? Sageuks and wuxia used to be where it was at for me but now everyone is twenty. Where is my Lady Mishil for 2023? JTBCs The One and Only spoke to me on a whole level I'm not getting other places right now. Sell Your Haunted House, Ms Temper and Nam Jung Gi, Search WWW, TVNs Happiness, and so on...they all featured women just so tired of everyone's bullshit and they all pulled some love interests that would definitely help them kill a child abuser.
Is there a Viki playlist for that character archetype? The morally grey and tired mature women that aren't plucky nor shy about love?

Thank you for posting about “Mine” - I started watching the show because of your early posts and I’ve really enjoyed it! The portrayal of the lesbian character and the depiction of positive reactions from other characters has been a breath of fresh air. And the three leading ladies had such compelling storylines! Thanks again for introducing us to this show!
Aw, you're welcome! I'm glad you liked it!
I'm just realizing myself how much I'm going to miss it. I saw a mention of another show in my asks, which I'll get to, but it instantly made me realize just how rare and refreshing Mine was. To have these layered, interesting adult women, god, especially when their conflict comes from outside and isn't about them making dumb decisions for the sake of drama.
But also, the lack of focus on men in a very specific way! One full lead was a straight up lesbian and that was how her screentime was spent, and then, very surprisingly and extremely interesting to see, Hi-Soo had no endgame m/f romance either! It's only when you don't see that when you realize just how much time is usually spent on developing those through their various stages.
There was no lack of men, of course, and we did get the romance with the stepson but it ended up being more a plot device, and didn't involve any of the top three women. Most dramas about women, unless they're specifically f/f, which have been like...TLW and Lip Service ever, actually devote a huge chunk of time to their m/f romances, even if through more of a female gaze. It's just been so neat and rare to not see that for once. It's gonna be tough going back to other shows. :/
