i’m going to need your help friend because i do remember you having a twau verse but i can’t rememberrrr what blanche’s part / knowledge / relationship with fables was. BUT ignoring all this and focusing more on these 2 personally, i think woody would be somewhat judgemental of blanche. she had a rough upbringing but, nowadays she looks refined and pristine and pretty ... everything he isn’t. he’s a big calloused drunk and i think he’d do his best to try and get under her skin. if they were to sit beside each other, i can see woody underestimating her, calling her ‘sweetheart’, dismissing whatever experiences or stories she might try and share...not because he dislikes her personally, i think this is more of a pathetic attempt at self-preservation from his part. like no, we can’t be anything alike, we can’t have anything in common, that’s impossible because look at me and look at you. he’s got a lot of self-esteem issues but he refuses to deal with them in a healthy manner. also, because his brain is the size of a pea, if he knew blanche could hunt humans, he’d probably see it as a challenge. helpmenora does any of this sound good

shadow feels comfortable around blanche. i think he’s much more comfortable around her energy than 99.9% of the people he surrounds himself with. shadow doesn’t talk very much but he can probably relate to a lot of blanche’s experiences. though he had a very good relationship with his mother he lost her at a young age, never met his father, married a woman who he couldn’t make happy...loneliness haunts him but he still values loyalty and believes in love. he was also a shy child who found comfort in books. and though he’s big and mean looking now i can see him trying to understand and empathise with blanche 100%. he’ll also probably try not to stare because the light always hits her right and she looks beautiful and strange at all times....and because shadow is [spoiler alert] the god of light itself i think it could produce some!!! interesting dynamics??? maybe??? the embodiment of the sun constantly gravitating towards blanche, looking for her, lingering but never touching, i’m gonna stop babbling now

i want memphis to materialise and hold a lighter to blanche every time she puts a cigarette to her lips. she’s all alone at the bar but the second she reaches for a cigarette a wrinkly hand just comes into frame to offer her some fire. he’s over familiar with her, probably has ran into her a few times over the centuries but he likes to push his luck on how friendly they actually are with each other. will constantly suggest violent scenarios to her, encourage blanche to bite a few heads off, laugh loudly whenever she disapproves of his smooth talking. mr. memphis keeps bothering her because he’s attracted to tragedy. and although blanche has no soul to sell there’s plenty of tragedy there. he’d also love to see her turn into a big bat creature. blanche is more than welcome to smack him or whatever, he’s an ass, he’s annoying and dresses boring

i love the thought of HB coming to blanche if the BPRD is having issues with vampires or the like. he has his prejudices but i think he’d still respect her...a bit. just him showing up in her balcony, uninvited, beer can in hand, trying to act like one of them film noir detectives, pacing around, making baseless accusations trying to see if he can catch blanche in a lie ( “you been drinking tonight ??? and i aIn’T tAlKiN’ bOuT vOdKa OrAnGeS mIsSy” ) but he never caught blanche actually doing anything harmful to mankind so you know. maybe they have a late night chat about something else. sometimes it’s honest, sometimes it’s just hellboy babbling about work. despite all the lil jabs he might make at her for being a vampire, he’d never want blanche to get hurt or in trouble.

TWAU SPOILERS CHAPTER 5

I just finished playing The Wolf Among Us and..

a while ago i realized something i didn't in the crooked man's trial. while everybody agreed that he is a scumbag deserving of punishment, not everyone agrees on the same method of punishing him. it was either:

1. locking him up and giving him a life sentence.

2. hurting him and watch him die.

3. get rid of him by throwing him down the witching well to let him die.

everyone ( or at least majority ) who chooses not to kill him were the people who were involved in helping him, getting help from him, directly or indirectly... and commiting a crime, contributing to the crooked man's 'business', knowingly or not.

aunt greenleaf, who has been supplying ichabod crane with black market glamours for years.

beauty and beast too, who are in a huge debt due to their luxurious lifestyle...which led them to indirectly work for the crooked man.

( is it just me or is anyone else pissed off at how much they refuse to adapt to the modern world, and how lavish their apartment looks like ? )

while it's understandable that they were out of choices and were just trying to survive, my points were that those who were voted him to be prisoned doesn't exactly prioritize justice.

the methods of punishment that these fables are suggesting are also driven by their own survival instinct.

they were afraid of the consequences they might be facing too if everything is to be done lawfully straight as a ruler.

given how gren and holly lost a friend and a sister, and how much bluebeard cares about his bureaucracy and the embezzlement, and how nerissa lost both of the only people who cared about her... it's understandable why they were insistent on killing the criminal mastermind.

and bluebeard, who was the loudest and most stubborn about his decision...cutting everyone who disagrees with him off.

and nerissa, who finally gathered her courage to be there and dare to lie about an evidence to swerve the crooked man's technicalities.

i did not pay much attention to johann the butcher.

but my point still stands.

the crooked man wasn't wrong about one thing...

it isn't a lie, everyone is just struggling to survive and get by in life. and he took advantage of it, he reached out a broken twig to helpless people and let them be in debt with him for eternity, until they're out of use.

the silver tongued is smooth with his technicalities and manipulations, attempting to be 'understanding' and present himself as the 'compassionate' fable who is just trying to help.

like an abusive parent, gaslighting their children by reminding them of their 'sacrifices'.

pretending to he in his victims shoes, comparing himself to them. you and I aren't that different, we're all just surviving !

i mean, in a sense he isn't completely wrong about that either.

isn't he?

but there is one clear difference between him and the other fables.

his cruel lust for power and control, motivation driven by greed... remorselessly exploiting fabletown's financial instability while he stays rich, and the others remain in a never-ending cycle of suffering.

ive been considering playing borderlands for a loooooong time (i rly love twau lmao) & thanks to ur posting i kind of. want to buy it the next time it goes on sale but the titles confuse me and my baby brain so like... whats the order? or whats the ideal order i should say. also im confused about how many games there are at least 3 right

there are three main titles and then the telltale title yeah!! and dw it’s definitely a little confusing so i’ll do my best to explain sjdnksf. so the order they were released in goes like borderlands, borderlands 2, borderlands the pre-sequel, and tales from the borderlands. the order of the in-game TIMELINE is borderlands, borderlands the pre-sequel, borderlands 2, and then tales from the borderlands.

however, borderlands 1 is mostly mission-based and has little to no actual story, so tbh i would save that one for later if not last. the original vault hunters (lilith, roland, brick, and mordecai) show up in each of the other games but you can get to know them that way, without having first played bl1. i personally played tftbl first, but as much as i ADORE tftbl and those characters, i would honestly NOT recommend playing it first if you’re interested in the series overall. tftbl has MAJOR spoilers for the rest of the series and there’s also a ton of cameos and references that just won’t mean as much to you unless you’ve got some context (i already knew a good chunk of stuff going in and also my goblin brain just got attached to rhys and i had to play tales first oijzkjnksjdskdf).

tbh tbh...i would Recommend starting with borderlands 2, then playing tales from the borderlands, then the pre-sequel, and then the original. when it comes down to it you’re honestly going to enjoy it no matter what order you play them in -- the world and characters are just so so likable and easy to get attached to whether you know all the lore and backstory or not, so i wouldnt stress too much but like. as far as understanding the timeline and avoiding spoilers i’d say do that,,
