Well dang. This is the word count of my second Inside Out fanfiction so far. I have the entire plot planned out, and it's just under 3/4 written right now! (Roughly 5/8ish chapters!)

Will be posting it very soon so keep an eye out if you're interested in this sorta thing! :D Here's the summary below:

Riley is seventeen now, turning eighteen in three months! There's a lot going on, a lot of exciting, scary, big things. And our Riley is a rockstar at handling all of them! And we still love our girl. Riley is into her final weeks of high school in the sunny June month in San Francisco. Responsibilities are piling up; so when Joy decides to take a stroll in Imagination Land one night to decompress, she comes across something, or someone rather, that puzzles, but also amazes the whole mind. A canon-complicit future fic of how I would imagine the personification of The Inner Child would pan out!

making linagram 2 prisoners have bigger age differences than the current linagram ones is very fun actually. yeah, this guy is 34 and he absolutely sucks. this woman is 46 and she's the sweetest person you'll ever meet. this girl is 15 years old and she's a gremlin that will bite your hands off. this guy is 25 years old and he's trying so hard to be Polite and Normal and he's so good at being Neurotypical. did i mention that there's a duo that has parenthood as their theme btw. sounds very normal

managed to talk to two new people today. folks really don't get less awkward or shy with age, do they? i mean, i also haven't.

we went on a little excursion around an old fort in our area that i sometimes like hiking to & we got a tour by this really enthusiastic elderly man who is still very involved with the historic research of the area/the fort itself. it was actually really cool!

you never realize something is almost a thousand years old until they tell you, much less realize the scope of what happened where you're standing or how it used to look.

not sure why it's relevant for us today to know the last day a certain kiln that they discovered there had been in use (around 1410 he said) but i'm always flabbergasted, amazed, and find the things we can discover with modern science to be borderline bullshit. like goddamnit, how? why?? cool?!?!
