I can probably volunteer for taking apart their conlang, though I'm not really knowledgeable on languages of North Carolina so I can't point out the areal features that are lacking. (Someone like @my-name-is-dre might have more expertise on it.)
It's definitely very very barebones. And has no grammar so I can't really point the specific features out. All I know is that it seems to be a relexified English (literal translations and literally no changes in grammar).
Gotcha, gotcha. That's what I was thinking... it doesn't even seem to resemble ANY Native language or culture or fit in with like any area, and they claim their tribe is "displaced" (convenient for their bullshit worldbuilding).

Thanks to @twinkpsychopomp I now have three pieces of Extremely Good heraldry that I found that they drew (Sable, a sus proper, Tierced per fess, gules, or, and vert; an autism creature statant guardant, argent, and Argent, a catgirl rampant proper). Assuming of course that they're fine with me using them as colour schemes for my toy soldiers? The thing is, a Bretonnian Knight of the Realm unit for Warhammer Fantasy comes in at minumum five knights, so if I paint one I need two more pieces of Extremely Good stuff. Any mutuals got any to share?

Wait, did they call the Ojibwe the "writers" even though the Cree were the first to use the syllabary Or is this name based on the etymology proposal that "Ojibwe" is derived from their (pre-syllabics) birch bark writing system?
Yeah, I believe that the reasoning behind this name is that the Ojibwe had syllabics, even though they haven't actually mentioned syllabics in this book, & Crees also had syllabics by this point iirc. I've never actually heard of Crees having the exonym "writers" for Ojibwe, & our word for them means something different. I think it's also implying this because it's saying that the Ojibwe are essentially super colonized & "whitewashed" because they wear European cut & styled clothing, even though all the other characters are also wearing European cut & styled clothing (which, I don't think the author knows this.)

Since you mentioned it in the post, is the Anishinaabe language group the more prefered term for the Ojibwe-Potawatomi continuum of languages, or is it based on how the people themselves identify? Where Anishinaabe is the endonym for the people, rather than Ililî/Nêhiraw/Nêhiyaw/Nêhinaw/Inniw
Thanks in advance.
I'm not entirely sure I understand the question, but "Anishnaabe" is just one way many people who fall under this group identify themselves, it's an endonym. The tribes that fall under this group are also of course very closely linguistically related to each other and can be mutually intelligible, but yes there are other variations of the word "Anishnaabe". It's still an endonym, it's just that saying "Anishnaabe" is just a little less specific than saying something like "Ojibwe" or "Potawatomi", & when they say it they know it also includes other tribes.
