What a beautiful end to the week that started very differently. (Swipe to see Saturdays adventure 🤦🏻‍♀️) Today though we headed over to @belvoircastle on behalf of @redbrickers to find a little festive magic. We were not disappointed. The Cinderella experience is beautiful & magical and I’m not ashamed to say after Saturday I had a little bit of a wet eye when I walked into the grand reception with the roaring fires & colourful Christmas tree. I love a bit of Christmas magic even as a 40something. I can feel it tingle through my core. The build up for me is always the best bit. I’ll share some more images and a blog post next week. Saturday though was a different story. Mason was running around with his brother tripped and hit his face on a cupboard. We ended up in A&E where they put him on some glue & steristrips. Thankfully other than the gash across his eye lid and a swollen eye lid there’s no lasting damage. 🤞 Now we are home ready for baths, a cuppa and a snuggle before school tomorrow. I took this yesterday while we played at grandmas. I take lots of pictures every single day. But this one specifically stopped me in my tracks. Look at that innocent, beautiful face. That’s growing up too blooming fast. Just last week I’m sure she was my little baby girl climbing into my bed when her daddy worked away. Care free and with a childhood full of mischief in front of her. All those memories she’s made and a lot of them without me being truly present. I’m not regretful of the fact but sometimes it does make me sad. Especially when I grab a picture like this and see how much she has grown. Don’t lose anymore memories to overwhelm. Have you ever felt like running away? What would you pack? When I was a teen I ran away to the bottom of the garden and all I took was 2 pairs of pants and a bar of chocolate. Since becoming a grown up though and more importantly a mum to twins running away has I’m not gonna lie been on my mind more times than I’d like to admit. You see it’s fooking hard. The relentless crying, the nappy change after nappy change, feed after feed and even when they get bigger they still demand snacks right? No matter how many kids you have. I think if I ran away now I’d still pack 2 pairs of pants and a bar of chocolate. I mean the the days when I felt like that are gone right now. I’ve learnt to accept & embrace life as it is chaos, snack demands & all. Now I’m packing two pairs of pants and a bar of chocolate x2 for a day out with the kids. Ahhhh nap time! Need this 5 min rest today. Being up half the night has hit me now! The day did not start well. We’ve done no school work, no phoning into school, nothing. But we did manage an hour or so fresh air. And I managed a bit longer as I had to walk to the plot to feed the chickens (some warm porridge) I wish I could say so the fresh air and snow makes up for the tantrums, tears snd stress of being a family of 6 who are all emotional at the lack of school, not seeing friends and trying to fit in work in between screams from the kids. But it doesn’t. I wish I could remain positive about things but I’m just to tired from it all to pretend. Yes there are a few smiles, a few laughs and numerous cubddles But at the min there is not enough of them to cancel out the stress. We are now on a sleep course for littlest boy twin. Hopefully it will help and when everyone starts getting more sleep I’m sure it will have a nock on effect with the rest of the problems. For now though.
