The sun, a distant, mocking eye, Watches as my spirit starts to die. Its golden rays, a cruel jest, Cast shadows deep within my chest.

No breath but mine in this forsaken place, No warmth, no life, no human trace. A kingdom of dust, my solitary throne, In this vast expanse, I am alone.

I wander through this lifeless tomb, Haunted by the endless gloom. Each step an echo of my grief, Each heartbeat a fleeting thief.

Madness creeps with claws unseen, Twisting thoughts to nightmarish sheen. Voices whisper, demons play, In the dark where sanity frays.

Here, I am the ruler of despair, Monarch of a world stripped bare. In this silence, in this endless night, I am the void, the dying light.

Relationship:  Stiles & Peter

Right Man For The Job—a monster is targeting the good people of Beacon Hills, so for his own good, Sheriff Stilinski “assigns” Peter Hale the pleasure of watching over his son.  Stiles, understandably, is not quite thrilled by the deal—especially when Peter becomes a constant presence and distraction in his life.  People automatically assume he is his boyfriend, which makes things worse.

Peter, on the other hand, is taking great pleasure in riling Stiles up, intruding on his personal space, flirting, soothing him like a skittish animal and as the reader; I could tell he was actively pursuing the younger man.  (It gave him another dimension to his character).  Stiles doesn’t realize it though and figures he’s just acting.  All he knows is that Peter is seriously getting in the way of his “alone” time because how can he relieve tension in a satisfying manner or bring home a hookup for the night when a werewolf is in close quarters?  He also doesn’t realize that as a born werewolf, Peter is at ease with his body and views sex in a completely different manner than a human.  This contrasting viewpoint is confusing for Stiles and creates a level of tension that can’t be ignored—until Peter takes matters into his own hands.  There isn’t much plot involved with the “monster of the week” scenario and it is resolved within a week, but rather, it was an opportunity for Stiles to let down his guard and see Peter in a different light as a man.  

I like how comfortable Peter is with sexuality, how supportive he is towards Stiles and the reverence he shows him when he least expects it.  I also like how Stiles is finally able to show Peter his vulnerability and realize the fact that here is a man who sincerely wants him for who he is as a person. The ending leaves the door open to the possibility of a relationship.
