~urban haze~ reshade preset!

I've been using this preset on my twitch for a bit now, and i've finally gotten around to releasing it!! I'm very happy with it and I currently use it for everything😅

Urban haze has a focus on realistic lighting with a slight hazy and warm feel. Less blue in shadows, darker nights, deeper afternoon shadows, saturated sunsets, balanced greenery. Use it in any world, I've tested them all :)

How to download:

♥ Download Reshade: (I use reshade 5.7.0, I can't say how this preset will behave with other versions of reshade, or G-shade.)

♥ During Reshade Installation, select The Sims 4, choose DirectX9 as the rendering API.

♥ Effect Packages to install: standard effects, sweetFX by CeeJay, qUINT by Marty McFly, color effects by prod80, and Legacy effects.

♥ Download urban haze below, drop it in your Sims 4 installation's "Bin" Folder

♥ Open the Sims 4, Disable edge-smoothing in your graphics settings if it's not already, In the reshade menu, set RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED= to 0 in global preprocessor definitions if it's not, and MXAO_TWO_LAYER= and MXAO_SMOOTHNORMALS= both to 1 in qUINT_mxao's preprocessor's definitions.

♥ If you're struggling with installation, I suggest you check out @kindlespice's installation tutorial! It was made for reshade 4.9.0 but the instructions remain the same.

Notes:

♥ Both Depth of field shaders are off by default, you can enable them using their shortcuts: ctrl + Q (MagicDOF), ctrl + W (MartyMcFlyDOF) or enable them manually.

♥ MXAO.fx also has a shortcut (ctrl + R) bc sometimes the DOF blur makes the shadows weird, most of the time it's fine!

♥ Could potentially be gameplay friendly, depending on your GPU! The MXAO and DOF shaders will be the most performance heavy, feel free to adjust to your liking.

♥ The pictures above were taken with this preset and no further editing, but I do use a few lighting mods that will affect how my game looks:

what made you create this blog?

Oh yay, I get to narcissisticly ramble about myself? Yaay!

I originally created a reddit account under this name waayyy back in 2021- I had been dipping my toes into being a "femboy" when the pandemic started, and posting pictures online was really my only outlet for sharing my femininity. I posted on a lot of femboy subreddits, 196, and dark souls shitposting subreddits, as well as occasionally commenting about science. My entire "gimmick" was trying to be a "cringe femboy" alongside having some scientific knowledge down my belt, kind of to lean into the "weird online poster is actually STEM expert" meme.

Tbh, I was in a really dark spot back then, and because of it, I got very "fuckit" about what I post and how. It's caused me issues occasionally, but most of my online behavior now is an extension of a carelessness about my online privacy that developed when I was desperate enough for any self expression to not care.

Over time, that's evolved into the online presence I have now. I made a tumblr blog when a lot of communities and users migrated off of reddit during the API changes, including an influx of users from r/196. I rode the wave of lots of people trying to keep the community together then just... kept posting? It continued to have its original use of self expression while I was boymoding- it was a place that I could post about being trans when I was closeted to most of the world. And yes, I could show off my looks a bit and get some validation

Now that I'm mostly living as a woman in my day to day life, I'm still here because the community is wonderful and I'm established here. I've made a lot of cool online friends, and I like the interaction and reach I get. Yes, part of that is pure attention seeking- but its also nice socially.

I don't really have a "purpose" for this blog at the moment, but I might move my online presence forward in some kind of way. I temporarily tried out twitch streaming, and it was really successful. I made the requirements for affiliate in literally the minimum number of streams possible, but I couldn't commit the time or keep a schedule cuz of grad school. I have lots of ideas for podcasts or written projects, but idk if they'll ever get off the ground, considering that I've been bouncing around outlines and rough drafts for random BS for years without any results.

Once I leave grad school later this year, some of that stuff might happen, but I genuinely have no idea.

Genuinely I love aypierres closed captions, But the only gripe I have is that most swears are censored out. I'm pretty sure this is an issue with all the caption extensions and not really part of aypeierres, But still, It sucks.

I don't just use it on cellbits streams, But i also use it when I'm watching fit and bad because I'm hard of hearing and having words on the screen makes it so I don't use as much energy decoding and can instead focus on enjoying streamers.

Censoring swears sucks because it feels alienating in a way. I hate that I've had to learn to live with it

honestly though IF its an issue with twitch and its extensions, or with the api and cannot be helped, I understand. It still sucks so goddamn much though

NO I SO GET IT 👆👆👆👆 it's soooo obnoxious. it is a problem with most auto caption systems i've seen, in pierre's extension, the old extension they used before, on youtube, etc. automatic captions on streams/videos *could* be so useful, except they've decided for some reason to intentionally make it shittier and shittier over the years

AND!!! in the context of the qsmp and other international creators, where it also translates too!!! it's *especially* shitty when the censored word totally breaks up the sentence, making it impossible to translate and straight up unreadable!!!!

at least the qlobal translator is fucking goated <3 as i was typing all this i could look over and see roier's transcriptions with "fucker" in it at least 4 times and him talking about wanting to kill himself <3

i have made 0 games in godot but made 3 apps and an overlay with it LOL.

this one loads images from a folder at runtime and twitch chat can vote for their favorites. needs a bit more polish before i upload the code (want to add a pause button/command and a version without twitch api)

Father of Time Chapter 98: Starfall Meetings

It didn't surprise Link that when he fell asleep that night, he opened his eyes to a strange place that didn't feel completely real. He was in a hammock while the floor underneath him creaked and shifted, a strange rocking sensation that upset this balance. As he tumbled out of the unusual bed onto the well-worn wood planks, the back and forth pitching made reaching the door difficult.  When it opened to a set of stairs, the smell of sea air assaulted his nose and he stared upwards towards a brilliant blue sky with a scattering of clouds. The air was warm and humid. 

From above, a cheerful whistling twitched at Link's ears and he made his tentative way upwards towards the sound.  Strange bird calls greeted him as he popped his head up through a hatch and he looked around at his first, real sailing vessel. Well, maybe not entirely real but close enough.

Thank you to IdleHasu for giving me permission to chat spam.

Script running in real time that will flood the chat at the api limit (100 per 20 seconds for vip) which is why it's choppy.

Video has taken some artistic liberties. I forgot to record it live, and the twitch vod didn't hold the spam (I'm assuming because of the timeout). Reactions are genuine (if you don't believe me head over to Hasu's stream and I might be there and run it again).

I could post the code for this, but I feel like this is unleashing a beast out in the world already. If someone truly wants it my dm's are open and you just have to ask.

YouTube Multi-Streaming Announcement

Standard Greeting Protocol, Toaster Frickers! I'm going to start experimenting with using Restream to hit YouTube as well as Twitch. That being said, Twitch is still considered the "primary" channel in which streaming is taking place, with YouTube being more or less secondary and for general convenience and extended VOD storage.

I'll have a dock that can still see YT chat, but the stream-embedded chat will be solely Twitch, unless I have a really good reason to stick YT in there somewhere.

Also, YouTube obviously doesn't have channel points. KTDash integration with YouTube API is a planned feature, but it will be mostly for relevant notifications such as new followers and good ol' Soup Chats, whenever those happen. However, for the current moment, during this transitory phase, integration will not work. (I mean, you're all probably already following both channels, right...?)

That being said, another important takeaway is that RAPPORT Progression will still be linked directly to Twitch accounts first and foremost. There are no plans to link YouTube accounts to RAPPORT profiles (why the heck would you, anyways????).
