Yes, the sleepover scene was cruel. But, and I say this as someone who is neurodivergent, I don’t think it was meant to be as cruel as it has come off. I genuinely feel that Sasha and Anne’s intentions were “We may not have the same interest or likes as you but that doesn’t mean we don’t love you.” Even while they say they didn’t care in both the past and present, Sasha and Anne remembered the movie. And not just the movie but it’s name and plot. They were paying attention because they do love Marcy. These past three seasons were to show the growth of these three girls. They weren’t perfect, maybe mot even great friends or people. But they love each other and that is what I think matters most.
