just saw this girl on tinder that i had the most insane rollercoaster thing with in college but she now identifies as a goth dyke and let me tell you… i swiped right so hard but almost didn’t because i wanted to keep looking at her pictures. she looks the same, just different style but it suits her so so well. and as ya’ll know i am a whore for goth/alt aesthetics to my colorful dyke look. the contrast is so giving but it just so happens to be what im usually drawn to. if we even go out to coffee and end up making out over this, it will have been worth the swipe. even if nothing, it was still totally worth it. i cannot lie, she was such a disaster in college though and nearly tanked an entire group project for me but my professor was also a lesbian (shoutout to this professor bc i loved her so much and she really cared about me) and she was like “hey allura,” and proceeded to tell me that this girl was a less experienced gay than i was and was clearly very obsessed with me (cause apparently she had gone to our professor to talk about me and had accidentally dropped a weird amount of concerning info??) and so my professor was going to separate her from me as much as possible (cause at that point she was like causing a crazy ton of issues for my school stuff and in my social life) but i mean… she was/is REALLY hot. her intensity was really sexy and the way she was so shameless was ALSO very sexy. plus i mean, even though she was doing wild shit it wasn’t like she was an awful person. i found her to be super yummy in all respects and was really shook when she flew off the handle and was basically harassing me. now this all sounds really insane i know but… ugh i want her so bad and i really hoped that some years apart would change those toxic obsessive pieces so let’s hope yes and find out

#oh this was longer than i meant it to be #i think i still have screenshots of when she first started flirty texting me #i liked her a LOT okay. it was so devastating when she practically lost her mind and didn’t find it again until we had another class #together with the same professor like a year later. i was still too wary to be/get close to her but she’d smile at me sometimes and i would #smile back very friendly.#but physically yeah this girl and i were VERY into each other so it was hard to be cool about it. she used to do this thing i loved too ugh #like before we started talking. she sat like two rows in front of me but exactly ahead of my eyes and she would do this thing where she #would sweep the hair from her neck and rub it really sensually with her fingers and stretch and i always tried NOT to watch l #but then she told me she was doing it to make me look so i felt REALLY stupid #she was always so funny and sweet and she was really smart too. like i don’t know. we clicked super well and i guess that’s why part of me #kinda held out hope that maybe SOMEDAY things would work out even just as friends. back then i told her i wasn’t ready to be in a #relationship and that’s around the time she started getting really intense in a bad way. i was seeing a few different people and i had #recently gone through a super traumatic breakup and she knew the girl i had broken up with so it got really messy #anywaysssss #she was lovely though. our first little coffee date was so cute ugh. anyways ALRIGHT this is enough rambling #i’m just tired and had so much to say abt this for no real reason lmfao

In "Fellowship", Barliman is the owner of the Prancing Pony, and he is shown to be easily distractible - "There now, it's gone again but it will come back when I have time to think" and he talks about how "one thing after another drove it out of his mind".

Gandalf has this to say about Barliman in his letter to Frodo: "PPPS. I hope Butterbur sends this promptly. A worthy man, but his memory is like a lumber-room: thing wanted always buried. If he forgets, I shall roast him." (Spoiler: he forgor)

Despite this, Gandalf considers Butterbur trustworthy and corrects Frodo when Frodo calls Barliman stupid after Frodo has met him and received the delayed letter, Gandalf saying "you don't know much about [Big People] if you think Barliman is stupid… He can see through a brick wall in time, as they say in Bree".

i wish i could articulate the experience of seeing a band you're into live like actually seeing them in person because its so strange yet fascinating

#every time i hear take me for a ride by sparks it makes me think of the nyc show - the first show of theirs i saw #bc that was their walk on music. and i was front row for that show #and like. it was so surreal. so strange. obviously in a good way but its just something id never experienced before #and i noticed this especially with russell in that i had a weird thought that went 'oh wow thats him. he realls looks like himself'#and like of course he looks like himself but what i meant by that was he looks like that guy who ive seen 5 billion images of. hes that guy #like not only does he look like the him in more recent pictures but seeing him in person like 10 feet away #its like i could recognize every era of him. i could see like 70s russell in his face. bc of course thats his face! but still #is this making any sense.#like i feel like if you met 70s russell once and never saw him again until now youd immediately recognize him #and sure thats because of two other things - one that he has distinct facial features kinda and also that hes aged so well #but it was again so surreal to be like. in the same space. right in front of. fairly close to. that guy whos been in my phone. you know?#this was true for ron and the other guys in the band too of course its that feeling of wow its them! those people ive only seen pictures of!#and again being front row for that was bonkers insane. its like what do you mean these people are real #but the thing w russell i just especially noticed almost immediately when they came out onstage like hes that guy. for real #is this making any sense . anyway i just had to finally get this one out #the only downside of this experience was that yes these people are real and yes they can see me. a little anxiety inducing #its like nooooo dont look at meeeee im such a weirdo i bought a ticket to see you like everyone else here #anyway. concert thoughts

New Fernweh Saga (@lacunafiction) MC: Joshua Wei ("Bugs" is a nickname he gained in college)

(I have used my original MC, January Cohen, for every playthru - making different choices, different personalities, from max to least resistance and every romance option. All of the sudden, January sees James as family (her cousin/her brother) and cannot romance him.)

As soon as Joshua learned what a crush was, and realized the difference between liking someone and like-liking someone, he knew he had a crush on Jane Corvin. He never said anything, not believing that Jane would like him back - a weird kid with big ears who was obsessed with insects. (The best way to impress your crush is to show her the best caterpillars and stick bugs... right...?) He did throw away the matching necklace in an effort to put those feelings behind him and to forget about Fernweh.

Joshua did well in school and his parents encouraged him to pursue the musical instrument of his choice. He doesn't know why but he attracted the attention of Reese Verner. The "rivalry" mainly annoyed kid-Joshua, he was a shy kid and wished Reese would not be so intense and competitive. Returning Visitor Joshua is in denial that there could be an attraction there. (Joshua also outgrew most of his shyness and is more willing to quip back at Reese.)

Joshua met Beckett Warrick in college, they were randomly assigned the same dormitory and met at an introductory event for incoming freshmen. They found out they had similar tastes in TV and bonded over a shared love of watching the Great British Bake-Off and Anthony Bourdain shows.

While growing up, Joshua always got along with Sofia Dorran, but he often didn't know what to say in social situations. Thankfully, Sofia didn't seem to mind that Joshua's quiet personality. They spent many afternoons together, Sofia reading and Joshua pouring over bug encyclopedias. Joshua always hoped for a deeper and less shallow friendship.

There is something about the diner's waiter/waitress that makes Joshua uneasy and makes him feel like a nervous child again. He remains polite but not too friendly, making him just another customer.
