25 . what’s the first episode you remember seeing ? if you can’t remember , which episode do you think you’ve seen the most times ?

Death Takes a Holiday, but not the whole thing. I was very, very young. Probably around five. We didn't watch a lot of TV, but my mom would put it on while folding laundry. I saw a few minutes of something I assumed was a soap opera (she was a General Hospital fan). Specifically, I saw the scene where the patient dies and Hawkeye moves the hand on the clock to falsify the time of death. I very clearly remember "look, he made it" "time of death" and hearing the number "five." I also vaguely remember the patient being referred to as a kid. I... did not understand the scene very well. I thought Hawkeye (whose name I didn't know) was moving the clock back, saying okay, the kid hasn't died yet, work through what went wrong to the distraught other doctor (BJ). In hindsight this would be an insane thing to do, but what did I know? I learned the phrase "time of death" from this scene and also wildly misunderstood it. I thought if you were in the middle of a dramatic surgery, a time of death was a kind of ultimate deadline. If you don't turn things around fast, the patient will die by this time. Not long after, I actually recreated this scene (well, my understanding of it) in a dramatic surgery role play with my cousin (our patient was imaginary, we were both doctors) and even explained my (very wrong) understanding of time of death. I even had a clock, because we had a toy clock at my grandparents' house. Dramatic surgery role play was a common game for me as a kid. Episode I've seen the most times....... it might be Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen, which I've seen all the way through more than a dozen times, though I eventually lost track of the exact count. There are a handful of others I've watch a lot of times, including Dr. Pierce and Mr. Hyde, The Late Captain Pierce, The General's Practitioner, The Grim Reaper, and The Best of Enemies.

3. favourite rivalry

anything that classes as a 'rivalry' with the wild is just straight up depressing bc we lose 9 times out of 10 lmao so. it has to be i don't like any guy on their team. flyers/pens. we had a pretty good one this season but i need it to return to the insanity years PLEASE.

it has to be watching the 10-7 wild vs canucks game in person at the x. one of the most insane experiences of my life and i got to do it with my best friend. i have so many that i could make a proper list of but i think that one will top it forever.

LEAST FAVORITE - the fact his entire story supposedly revolves around a girl he had a crush on as a kid. Why did they give him and Kk this extraordinary romance and rivalry but Rin is just around... GIRL. It's not enough to shove a boy and girl together and call that a compelling romance. I am screaming.

Favorite line: so many bangers, but I am basic I guess? "In the shinobi world those who break the rules are regarded as scum, but those who would abandon their friends are worse than scum. I'm scum anyway, so I’m going to choose to break the rules." - it was because of this that I first loved his character. I also love, "I see now. This world is hell." Idk it just gives me goosebumps.

Redemption; And, seeing her father again. Her father loved her and spent as much time as he could with her when she was young. But male drow aren't well-treated, and he was killed by a female drow from a rival House in order to spite her mother and push her into making a foolish and dangerous mis-step. The sad thing about the entire affair is that neither of their Houses are counted among the highest three or even five of Menzoberranzan, so it was more personal and political. Perri wasn't allowed to attend the hasty burial by her father's male relatives. Fed up with Drow society, she packed a cheap sword and a jar of pickles, and marched off into the dark to seek her fortune elsewhere. She plans to return and restore honour to her father's name, someday, somehow.

Reading surface literature, especially on politics, religion, and sociology. Usually while others are being completely chaotic in camp (Karlach setting fire to a tent and using fortified wine to "put it out", Scratch and Cub chasing Astarion and Izzy, Gale and Wyll talking about silk for 5 hours straight, Lae'zel reducing her grinding wheel to dust by trying to sharpen an adamantine weapon, Shadowheart trying to pray while being used as a training weight by Halsin, etc)

Brocedes, always

Nico doesn’t know what to say— he thinks faintly that he’s going to a have a hell of a bruise to explain the next morning. 

Lewis doesn’t look much better opposite him, hair mussed and breathing heavy, a tear in his uniform shirt. He’s clenching his hands by his sides, rhythmically flexing his fingers. 

It’s stupid— they’re behind the school gym, faint chalk marks from art class still staining the pavement and the chatter of students just behind the wall. 

It doesn’t really matter though.

They could be anywhere and do this; always.

Lewis gathers saliva into his mouth, a horrible, grotesque noise; he turns his head to the side and spits a wet pink gob out onto the concrete. Nico fights to not look disgusted, willing his face to stay neutral.

“I don’t care if you thought it was dangerous, or you thought I wouldn’t win, or what—“ Lewis is pointing a finger at him now and Nico is sneering. He can feel his mouth moving even though he doesn’t want it to, it’s like an instinctual response.

There are grazes on the backs of Lewis’ knuckles.

He hates this, the rhythm that they’re caught in.

“I’m breaking up with you—” it bursts out of him, and he can see Lewis reel back, surprised. Nico never comes out the gate swinging. He thinks, almost laughs, whats the point now if the gate is smashed to pieces behind him, “—and I’m not racing with you anymore.”

“Well—“ 

There’s a burst of laughter from somewhere else, the smell of hot baking asphalt in Nico’s nose. Sweat drips behind his ear steadily. They stare at each other.

Lewis continues.

“—I don’t care. You’re shit anyway, everyone comes to watch me.”

Nico blanches, can feel himself go red right up to the roots of his pale blonde hair, the way he hates. 

“Fuck off,” it’s a weak comeback, sounds pathetic in his ears. He repeats it to see if that makes it sound better.

It doesn’t.

He thought he might’ve had the last word, for once.

civilian affairs

There's an episode in season 2 called The Chosen People where Frank has one of those patented one-sided phone calls with an officer from civilian affairs, they get on like a house on fire, and then Frank says something that the other man takes as a come on and is totally interested in. Frank is naturally appalled and hangs up but I started thinking, you know, what if a little while later he called him back? What if he couldn't help himself? What if they met up? Ostensibly, Frank is trying to strike up a friendship so he can be a god-fearing, heterosexual influence. Of course that's not what happens, or even what Frank really wants. I'm not sure yet, and probably won't be until I write it, exactly how far they're going to get sexually. It probably won't be a full-on smut fic, but just because I think fade-to-black and being kinda artsy with it suits this piece better stylistically. We only see Frank's side of the phone call; I want to maintain that energy of not showing everything.

Civilian Affairs is a convenient title since that's where Frank's would-be lover works, and I'm also trying to make it kind of a pun, since Frank wears civvies to meet his man for an affair. I started writing it in Frank POV which was so much fun. I didn't get too far before life intervened but I love what I have and I'm excited to share it, I hope I can get back to it soon:

There’d been some parting words about letting O’Reilly throw up in his bunk that ordinarily would have raised Frank’s ire, but he’d been nervous to the point of distraction. It was so hard to get that spying little fink out of the office, and he’d been waiting so long—not that he’d been thinking about it. It was just that in this outfit, his needs always seemed to come below everyone else’s. If Pierce wanted something, he’d have it in a minute, but god forbid he want one lousy little phone call without the prying ears of the camp gossip—

“Yes, I’d like to see you,” he pauses. “I think a meeting could be quite stimulating for both of us.”   He goes red.  “Now, I want to be absolutely clear. There will be no funny business of the sort you might just now be implying. No, not of any other sort either. This is strictly an intellectual exchange.”  The next response makes him frown.  “Well, I sensed something in you, the last time we spoke. You’re like me. Honest, and decent, and under appreciated. I think we could… help each other.”
