care to introduce me to your ocs? 👉👈
Well it should be pretty easy! I only have one, his name is Axilaes (Axi for short, pronounced 'ahi')
This will be pretty long I think
I present Him™
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a weird mental thing where it makes me uncomfortable to have multiple OCs cuz then I struggle on picking favorites and not knowing who to focus on, so I only use one! Axi is my OC for every AU and game I enjoy putting him into
In general, his theme can be described as sort of a gay cunty vaguely evil mage/healer character with ties to plants and cosmic stuff. So in Destiny he's a warlock, in D&D he's a druid, and in FFXIV he's an astrologian/white mage. I also use him in other AUs that are less classifiable like Bloodborne where he's an arcane user.
I do have little mini OCs that act as a supporting cast for him, each one is based off an element. So I have Anem (wind), Ćiknawi (earth), Hari (fire) and Ikuyu (water) //those aren't what the names mean btw// which act in game as things like pets, familiars, mounts, and in D2 act as his ghost and AIs that have been put into his jumpship and sparrow. He also has a pack of 5 dogs (Inana, Tanesi, Yawal, Bato, and Ketket) that help him do work.
His base AU I would say is D&D and I use that as a base reference for when I put him in all other AUs. In D&D he's a druid (sometimes also a bard multiclass) that guards a cenote which is one entrance to the underworld. He was created to protect the celestial winged serpents that inhabit the cenote and cleanse any malicious spirits passing through (or eradicate any that can't be cleansed and intend to cause harm to the area like the water). So he's kinda like a spiritual ghost hunter who keeps people out of the cenote.
On full moons the serpents (or dragons) leave the cenote to do ritual magic under the moonlight, so he escorts them safely to the surface and while he's up there he likes to drink and gamble, and nearby villages have spread myths about him inhabiting the wilderness on full moons. Some can approach him and pay him to offer them blessings or curses. So in a way he himself is also like a spirit or folk cryptid.
He is also trans :3
If you have any specific questions about him in specific AUs like Destiny 2 or Bloodborne I love rambling about the guy constantly in my head. I have his D2 and Bloodborne AUs the most fleshed out since they're my favorite games, anything else I can't guarantee an answer to (since I don't know the lore as well)
Ty for asking =D

I feel like I need to reiterate this. But FFXIV didn’t hook me until Shadowbringers because all the villains felt like villains for the sake of evil. There wasn’t a clear end goal. Zodiark was a vague concept. The Ascians were all just doing evil shit without rhyme or reason beyond “for the lulz and for Zodiark.” and even Post-Stormblood Emet still feels like, “Here’s your next Saturday Morning Cartoon villain like Lahabrea. Mustache twirling, long monologues, and bare bones.”
I remember seeing him for the first time Shadowbringers like, “Oh great. Its him.” but then the expansion spends its time shaking loose the archetype they molded him into for Stormblood and gave him depth, personality, the reason. Emet-Selch is the plot device best described by himself, “A war waged without knowledge of the enemy is no war--it is mere blood letting.” And Emet-Selch was there, to give us the reason behind the Ascians. Despite the Lightwardens and Sin Eaters and Vauthry being good enough reason to fight for the First. Emet-Selch gives weight and stakes to the Source and behind the mustache twirling. Here is the first Ascian who isn’t cloaked in shadow but snarky, conversationalist, he has motive, he has machinations, he has reason, he is fanatic not to the point obsuridty like Lahabrea but to a logical point of view specific to himself.
He doesn’t want to do evil for this God we’ve been given only vague accounts of. But because he wants to bring back his friends and their loved ones and their families. The moment he lets slip that Zodiark and Hydaelyn are Primals. We know he is flawed because as we saw with Lakshmi, even if Zodiark brought them back with his immense power. They would never be the same. But he is tempered, “As is his (Zodiark’s) wont.” and cannot see beyond his nose that where the Beast Tribes have been failing so too will the Ascians.
So, Emet falls and returns to the star. Leaving his legacy to us even after giving it his all. Elidibus arrives and what was once this cryptic, bland and conniving individual who pranced around as Emissary. Is now just this tragic figure, having lose his home, his friends, and now his memories and even the reason for his purpose. But just like Emet-Selch, he presses on. So long as his now vague duty is done, what should it matter? He is Elidibus, he is Emissary. He has warred and allied with his kin. He is whatever the world requires him to be and he to falls.
It almost feels dull to go back to Zenos and Fandaniel who both come off as the same token, mustache twirling, evil for evil sake, here’s a vague goal of their plan and what it is for. Fandaniel only becoming slightly better after we meet his original body that is inherited by Amon. Zenos doesn’t grow beyond coming to understand us vaguely near the end. He still does stuff, he has to have stuff to do. But by that end he’s pretty much a “tie up loose ends” fight at the very end. Endsinger and galaxy is saved. Its pretty much like if after Luke blew up the Death Star the first time, he has to fist fight Grand Moff Tarkin. The narrative has moved on from all that.
Endwalker is still like good in a sort of “This old band has returns for a final farwell tour, they’re playing all the classics one last time.” But Shadowbringers really was when they picked up the ball and did the most work with it. After three expansions of haphazardly meandering. Shadowbringers felt like it had a goal in mind and how they would see it through. Endwalker feels like a X.X Patch for its first half and then an expansion after the level 73 Trial. That now has the unenviable task of tying up ten years of story.
But still it gave more depth to the Ancients. Not leaving them as shadows at the bottom of the sea. Giving us a glimpse of how they were in the past. How their thought process and how they operated. It gave us answers to Venat. Gave us a drop more of Hythlodaeus. Gave final victory lap for Emet-Selch and then introduced the how and why of the Final Days.
But that’s enough of my rambling.

final fantasy, the wayfarer😀
ty remus!! this has been the hardest one because wayfarer has very few of its main cast introduced so i've been sitting here all day like ??? because i'm not a fan of getting attached to characters that aren't in the media yet xD BUT i will try !!
(ffxiv answered here)
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): i am always ready to commit the braincell to thinking about aeran kellis. we love a bff-to-"oof feelings"-to-"do i even like you?" arc. the angsty types really need to give wayfarer a read
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): zenaida!! she's kind of the MC's boss and kind of embroiled in political scandal. we love her, she's so pretty and smart and probably in over her head.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): the mc. they're so tired and have had a very bad day in chapter one. just let them nap*.
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): EVERYONE IN CHAPTER ONE. wayfarer's first chapter is a mini-IF in itself. it's a contained event. we will not be meeting most of these characters again because we're on to bigger and better shit but... they're all so good. Luthias my beloved.
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): rhodarth... he is tall. he is green. he is annoyed. and if you don't get him killed (and aren't a woman) you can romance him later.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): aeran. and i do.
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): the crimson count, cere nalos.
(*and not due to unconsciousness... unless they want to almost [redacted] aeran upon waking)

GETTING TO KNOW THE MUN
NAME: I’m not usually one to give out my real name so Nico is fine :3
NICKNAME: Nico, Kuu, Tiny (some of my tall friends call me that XD)
FACECLAIM: That’s a thing? Do I need one….?
PRONOUNS: She/her or they/them
HEIGHT: 5 ft and a half (and yes, the half is important ;b)
BIRTHDAY: November 12th
AESTHETIC: Oversized sweaters/shirts, rainy days, cozy bookshops/cafes, orchestra music, and cat cuddles <3
LAST SONG YOU LISTENED TO: Kiss me by Sixpence none the richer
FAVOURITE MUSE(S) YOU’VE WRITTEN: oh gosh, I’ve got a few favorites from over the years of writing and roleplaying, the majority being not within the ffxiv universe and just throughout various rp threads and original stories but currently I’d have to say Kien and N’noah are my favorites. Both are my only ffxiv muses (for now) and I love them equally for different reasons! Noah is more of a comfort character for me and Kien is not a typical oc that I have so his personality and backstory gives me a good writing challenge and it’s fun to find lore on Meracydia and make my own hc’s too!
GETTING TO KNOW THE ACCOUNT:
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE ON THIS MUSE: the fact that I could create my own character to go through the msq was inspiration enough honestly. I’ve always been someone who love creating characters for games or stories so when my friends roped me in to play ffxiv, Kien just sort of came to life as I began to mess around in the character creation! :3
It also helped that my friends had backstories for their ocs and it gave me the drive to weave my story into theirs so we could have our own canon story together while we went through the main story.  It’s been a lot of fun so far and I’ve met so many wonderful people with wonderful muses so I’m really grateful to my friends for introducing me to this game! <3 (ty always Blaise and Percy!)
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF YOUR CURRENT MUSE: Kien’s ability to observe and adapt—he spent his entire childhood dreaming about far away places so him getting to finally go out and travel the world is a dream come true and he really knows when to slow down and enjoy the moment. As someone who enjoys writing out details, his thought process is really wonderful. As for Noah, it’s her ability to cause trouble…sounds strange, I know, but also all the ways she just creates chaos is so much fun to write out.
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING: Music, for sure. I have a whole playlist of songs, most of them are movie/show and video game OSTs as vocal tracks can sometimes distract me unless the song lyrics have something to do with what I’m writing. I usually just listen to it on shuffle but sometimes I will search for certain songs to help get me in the right mindset for whatever I’m working on.
Bouncing off ideas and head canons with friends and mutuals also helps inspire me too! Though, sometimes if I don’t actively write down what was discussed (especially if it was all plotted out over voice chat or what not), I can sometimes forget the little details or I lose all inspiration to write once I do get a chance to and I have to start all over again…it can be a struggle ( ´∀`)
I’ve recently found that screenshots can also help me, so I’ll sometimes go into the game and take the screenshots I need for what I want to write and go from there.
FAVOURITE TYPES OF THREADS: I honestly love a lot of different threads. I think my top favorite kind would be the ones where the character is put to the test and you can really dive deeply into who they are as a person. Kind of like “Here’s a situation, now it’s time to see if you’ll sink or swim” I really love character development and seeing what makes an oc tick so anything that can get that ball rolling is right up my ally. I also really enjoy fluff romance threads as I’m a bit of a hopeless romantic myself and I like slice of life every now and then so long as there’s a sort of magical/supernatural aspect to them.
Yay! I finally finished this! Life has been crazy busy for me so this has been in my drafts far too long. I was tagged by @sundered-souls and @bek-sc! I appreciate you both for the tags!
Tagging; @circusredmage @tokki-yue @omgpercabethsummers @sworn-unbeliever @decadentvelvet and anyone else who’d like to! But of course if you’re not comfortable filling this one out I completely understand <3

FFXIV Write 2018 - Prompt 1, “Submerged” & Prompt 2, “Silenced”
Tumblr media
Notes: I missed the first day, came to this slightly late, and ended up writing a piece with both of the prompts in mind, though I am considering it a single entry (I’m not too bothered about how it counts for the participation prize, I’m just doing this to encourage myself to write). I’ve been thinking about writing more of Yvon’s backstory for a while, and this was a good opportunity to get some of it down.
---
The spring morning was crisp and cool; a gentle, refreshing sea breeze tousled Cassius’s hair as he dismounted from his chocobo, gazing up at the shabby exterior of the house before him. The garden in front of it had grown wild, with long grass and tendrils of various weeds rising high and half-obscuring the peeling coat of blue paint that adorned the building’s walls. Tying up his bird to the fence, he approached the heavy, imposing front door, knocked sharply upon it, and waited.
And waited. He knocked again. Several minutes passed. He peered around the garden and the deserted street, and then into one of the front windows, but all was dark inside. He knocked once again, and this time, after a minute or two, he heard the distant sound of a door opening and closing. Shortly, there came the sound of footsteps upon tile, and the door creaked open a small way, revealing a sliver of darkness. Cassius looked down, and was met with the sight of a teenage boy, no older than seventeen years, staring up at him with wide green eyes.
“Hello?” said the boy, his voice soft, reaching up to nervously pat down his dishevelled, ash-blonde hair – a shade remarkably similar to his own, Cassius noted.
“Good morning,” Cassius said briskly, meeting his gaze. “I am looking for Yvon.”
“You – you’ve found him,” came the timid reply. The door opened a crack further and Yvon peered nervously out, looking behind Cassius, and then up to his face, squinting a little against the sun.
“It’s just me,” Cassius said. “I am here to discuss with you some matters concerning your extended family.”
Yvon frowned suspiciously, pulling the door a little more closed again. “I don’t have any.”
“Ah – yes. Well, that is part of what I am here to discuss,” Cassius said gently. “I understand this comes quite unexpectedly, and it is natural to be cautious, but I would appreciate a little time to sit down and explain the situation.”
Yvon stared back at him for a minute, and then his expression softened a little, and he stepped back, holding the door open for Cassius to pass through.
Inside, he paused for a moment to allow his eyes to adjust to the dimly lit room. Each of the windows were covered in thick, heavy curtains, allowing very little of the morning sun to pass through. The chandelier above their heads bore only a single candle alight, which revealed something of the room’s sparse and dusty furnishings. Cassius noted a heavy log book resting on the counter top near the door – one of the few items in the room that clearly saw regular use.
“Sorry,” Yvon said softly, shutting the front door. “About the… mm…” He trailed off, arms falling to his sides as he looked about helplessly.
“It’s quite alright,” Cassius said, still passing his eye thoughtfully around the room, and then back to Yvon. Standing there in the near-darkness, clearly still wearing the clothes he had slept in, he looked vulnerable and nervous.
“Please come this way,” he said, and Cassius followed him through a door into a hallway, and then again into a sitting room which was considerably brighter than the entrance hall, and less dusty, but its furnishings and carpet were stained and cluttered with a wide array of items including used plates and glasses.
“Is there anyone else living here, at the moment?” Cassius asked as he cautiously made his way to one of the least filthy-looking sofas, with Yvon taking a seat across from him.
“Yes,” he replied, perching on the edge of his seat and nervously playing with a strand of his hair. “A few people are renting rooms.”
“I see,” Cassius replied. “Well, let me explain to you why I am here, and I will then answer any questions you might have. My name is Cassius Cato. As you have probably discerned, I was born in Garlemald.”
Yvon nodded, his eyes raised momentarily to the third eye at Cassius’s forehead.
“The Cato family has retained its pure Garlean lineage for generations. However, in researching my family history, it came to my attention that, some time ago, there was some divergence in the family tree, leading to a connection with a minor Ishgardian noble house – des Vallieres. ‘Of the valleys’.”
Yvon’s fidgeting ceased, and he continued to regard Cassius with a puzzled frown.
“I understand,” Cassius continued, “that if you were not aware of this connection, you may be feeling some scepticism. Aware of this possibility, I have brought with me some documents as evidence that you may wish to read.” As he spoke, he balanced the sleek, black leather case he had been carrying upon the coffee table, opened it, and withdrew a sheaf of papers and parchment. “Here,” he said, briefly shuffling through them. “Records of birth, marriages, letters to and from various family members, and a few other miscellaneous legal documents.” He held the papers out to Yvon across the table, who cautiously reached out and took them from him, eyes trained suspiciously on Cassius. Holding the papers delicately as though they might turn to dust in his hands, Yvon rested them on his knee and began to slowly look through them.
“As I understand it, both of our families were not keen to maintain the connection,” Cassius continued after observing him for a moment. “Understandably so, given the strained relations between the Garlean Empire and Eorzea. So, I was prepared for the eventuality that all of this would come as a surprise to you. I did not initially plan to contact you quite so suddenly, but as I conducted my research into our family history, I came upon the news that your father, Lord Maurelin, had recently passed away, and that you had moved from Ishgard to reside here in La Noscea – rather close to where I happen to be staying at the moment.”
He reached into the case again and withdrew a small card, which he pushed across the table to Yvon, who looked up distractedly from where he had been leafing through the documents to take it.
“Here, my name and address,” Cassius explained. He folded his hands in his lap, sitting back in his seat and watching Yvon, who nodded in acknowledgement as he read the card, and glanced up to meet Cassius’s gaze again. “You are the last remaining heir to the family, is that correct?”
“Yes,” Yvon said softly. “I am an only child. If – if you are here because you want money—”
“No, no,” Cassius said, waving his hand. “I have no need of that. Aside from wishing to meet you and introduce myself, I simply wish for you to know that if there is anything you require, trivial or not – advice, assistance,” he shrugged, “even a recommendation for a local public house, you can let me know. I would be happy to help a cousin.”
Yvon tapped his fingers to his mouth, looking back down at the documents in his lap with a frown.
“Now,” Cassius said, his tone gentle. “Is there anything you wish to ask?”
